God1000:
Advanced countries, but they don't steal such money, they utilize it well for the good of the people.

In my country Nigeria, we borrow and siphon it.

Small Ghana and Kenya even borrowed more than Nigeria
Nigerians don't really understand these things.
Foreign AffairsRe: Countries With The Biggest Debts In The World (Photos) by ethikallyright: 8:49pm On Mar 03, 2023
I will also add that the citizens of these countries are indebted as well in that order.

Let's start with the USA - most students become debtors just to go to school. They repay student loans all their life.

Let's go to the 101st position- Nigeria has cheaper university fees than Ghana and Kenya.

Both didn't campaign based on what they achieved. Their campaigns were based on cutting cost of governance and fighting corruption.

You're deluded.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Presidency Is This Analysis Correct? by ethikallyright: 5:52pm On Mar 03, 2023
Peter Obi stood a chance in the Christian North because of Islamophobia. They play religious politics there and it showed in their voting pattern. He won Plateau State which records the most gruesome religious crisis in the country. Christian leaders in Taraba and Southern Kaduna literally curse their followers for voting for Muslims after every election.

Same reason why Tinubu chose a Muslim vice President from the North East. It was Tinubu's only option to even stand a chance.

If a Christian was given the APC ticket and Peter Obi contested under labour party, ATIKU Abubakar would win.

This election was more religious than ethnic- Atiku lost the North West and Muslim Muslim Ticket won. It was religion-driven and competency had no place.

All Tinubu has to do to win a rerun in 2027 is to ensure that no Muslim contests.

PoliticsRe: Drop Pictures of Polling Results Here by ethikallyright: 5:06pm On Mar 03, 2023
Documentary evidence will only come from INEC's archive.

The pictures, downloads , screenshots etc will not be admissible as evidence at the Tribunal.

After the media fun, real lawyers do their job. The ex-parte order granted today by the Court of Appeal/Presidential Election Tribunal is for PDP and LP to inspect INEC materials and get their evidence from there to argue their cases.

I don't feel bad.

I just laugh at the ignorance of people who blame judges.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Labour Party Scores First Legal Victory Against APC, Tinubu by ethikallyright:
It's the normal process. Documentary evidence to be tendered at the tribunal won't come from anywhere but from the archives of INEC. It is why they are accessing election materials kept by INEC.

You have shot yourself back in the foot. there is primary evidence already glaring at you. Even without any pictures, not uploading the results online already is breach of trust, and is already nulled. Contrary to your opinion, according to inec law, as amended, the presiding officer shall transmit the result directly from the polling unit in a manner prescribe by the commission. And the commission came out and released a press meeting, written in black and white, that the results will be transmitted to the irev portal in real time.
Lol. I don't want to reduce my IQ, so I'll pass.

TheOldGods:
what I asked you didn't answer, you went round and round yet didn't answer anything. If there is a murder case, and the victim is burried and body never to be found, but there are video evidence and pictures showing the person committing the crime, will the court trash the case to the dustbin based on your own conclusions that A: the court needs primary evidence which is the body of the victim. So can we now say, because there is no body seen, the pictures could be doctored and the videos fake therefore case has been thrown to the dustbin?
Go back to what I wrote. I answered your question in the first paragraph setting an instance where oral, real or secondary evidence may be accepted. Videos, pictures etc may be admissible to prove voters' intimidation or abuse.

As long as it has to do with results, only primary evidence that is the result itself (as written and signed on paper) is admissible.
PoliticsRe: Does Obi Stand A Chance At The Courts by ethikallyright: 12:25pm On Mar 03, 2023
drlateef:
Sensible statement. How can you petition tribunal on the winner APC alone?. Has Obi forgotten there are two “winners” ahead of him? How can he claim substantial irregularities in 12 out of 36 states and FCT? There are so many technicalities that Obi can not surmount. Only those who believe Buhari is clone will believe that Obi has a chance in the court.
Yes, they are very right. That's what section 133 of the Electoral Act 2022 states. The parties to the case are very right. The petition is against the winner.

Even someone who came 18th can only bring the petition against INEC, the winner and the political party of the winner.

TheOldGods:
I have a simple question, if a person records someone killing somebody over a video, or a picture and takes it to court, as form of evidence, will the court reject it based on it's a picture and video and not a valid proof?

I expect your answer. Thanks.
Videos/ pictures may be evidence of voters attacks. Oral evidence may be given to prove that voters were attacked.

However, regarding the results, documentary evidence is required.

You do not prove that you're a graduate in court by showing the court a picture of you holding your Bachelor's degree certificate on your convocation day. You prove that you are a graduate of a University by tendering the certificate/degree issued by your alma mater in court. If you can't find the original certificate, the next thing you can tender is a certified true copy of the certificate issued by your university.

You don't even prove that you are married statutorily in court by showing the court a photograph of your wedding or calling oral evidence. You prove in court that you are married by tendering your marriage certificate as evidence.

Those things are for the media.

That's the law. A public document is proven in court by tendering primary evidence- the document itself. In this case, the result itself.

They're not and this clearly shows you're biased. Olisah Agbakoba, SAN came on channels long before election to say he cannot for certainty define whether getting 25% of Abuja is compulsory or not. INEC former rep Igini said its compulsory.

Do you know more than these guys? Are you a SAN?
Yes. If it was 100% certain, I wouldn't put it as one of the legal issues. It's still a SAN that the oppositions employ who will bring up the issue grin

However, the honourable justices of the court of appeal and probably the supreme court are more likely to be consistent with their interpretation of the FCT as a State . It's a 95:5 scenario.

Its your opinion based on your interpretation of the law
These are basic principles of the relevant statutes. They are the A B C of the Law. The court won't interprete differently because they are not contentious.
