Anyways my advice....
The Nigerian Army Leadership should lend a hand;

1. by using their Engineering division 2 fill up d potholes on Tin-can island axis of apapa oshodi exp.
This is not new in d world... rmba i said fill d potholes with stones to ease d sufferings of these truck drivers.
They r also Nigerians trying 2 earn a living legally 2 keep their families lets stop treating them like animals.

2. This next point is a shame 2 our LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. The combined team of Military, Civil defense, police & FRSC (joint task force) have turned d length of mile2 down 2 Tin-can island 2 a CASH COW..
They delibrately turn trucks around or chase drivers away even when d roads r free unless d drivers pay certain amount ranging from N3,000 to N12,000, depending on where u r entering d road from.
Taking from KLT (Kirikiri Light terminals) to link Tin-can island using d detour d Naval Admin there charge truckers N3,000 averagely b4 dy enter d link detour Tin-Can.
From Mile 2 to link d detour infront of PTML terminal d ARMY n LASTMA agents there take N2,000.
from WILMER CRESENT to link coconut d Police there takes N2,000.
Now if these drivers dont part with these *monies* dy r kept waiting on d road or asked 2 turn their trucks..
So systematically these TASKFORCE that was sent 2 ease and cordinate d traffic have added 2 d PROBLEM.
Cos when these trucks r sent away or denied access to roads they pay Legitimate task for d drivers start hanging around on every little space.
A combination of these issues lead to the chaos we all c in apapa... The unimagine POTHOLES & EXTORTIONS OF THE TASKFORCE & NPA is d reason we all suffer.

The ARMY SHOULD donate their ENGINEERING CORP to fill those port wholes with stones. This is part of NATION SERVICE.

sanitizing d haulage industry,,,,,, is long overdue, however we need 2 have an organized body in transport system a union so to speak, other than d current unions etc NARTO, NURTW.
then a harmonized system or institution to certify and identify qualified drivers.
reasons are;
1. so we have d best of drivers handling our trucks, in extension goods..
2. Most modern trucks need some degree of literacy 4 proper operation and 2 get optimum output.
3. A harmonized rate across routes, 2 keep industry standards inline with state of economy and cost of other commodities...
4. Curb excesses of local govt agency under d guise of emblem..... Cos d Joint Tax Board of d 36 states of d federation and ministry of transport, has failed to ensure that there agents follow d process of 1 emblem from any local govt covers all.
So our new transport union is to compel them 2 have a unified sticker not exceeding 3, that covers d entire country and can b confirmed online through its code numbers from authenticity.
this is 2 curb d unpleasant attacks meted out on our drivers and vehicles as the case may b in some states,,,, leading eventually 2 delay in delivery.
5. speed limiters r compulsory to check over speeding trucks and fine the companies.
6. All truck drivers must b grounded on emergency repairs 2 get their trucks of the road incase of a break down. Also truck truck should have a tow bar and chain to ensure that even in worse cases, a fellow trucker can assist with a simple tow 2 the nearest lay-by.

I am open 2 correction, commendation and contribution.

Well in USA , insurance companies sell totalled vehicles and Police auction impounded vehicles and accidents vehicles that are towed to their yard if the owner does not claim it due to the demurrage.

It is legal or is there a law that backs the Nigeria Police to sell of vehicles involved in accident, which is in their custody, without giving any notice to the owners of the said vehicles.
note; no contact was made to the owners of the vehicles to seek their approval......

the fire is suspected to have been caused by a 60,000 ltrs tanker loaded with PMS colliding with a container truck that broke down at d round about.... due to the inability of depot VIO officers 2 maintain proper traffic management.
