Until the Hausa's come out to speak for themselves, this problem of always attacking both Fulani and Hausa because of the difficulty of identifying whom is Hausa and Fulani
This can also be said about some Yoruba's that were also influence by Fulani religion but the yorubas were only lucky that they are not in the north like Hausa ( but kwara na problem sha)

PERSONAL THEORY
this attack on Hausa when fighting Fulani will quicken the division of Fulani and Hausa considering the fact that Hausa are gradually fighting back in the north against these herders and the Hausa will not want to suffer for the crime of the fulanis.


Am saying all this because of what I have always seen in Benin that when a Fulani man commit a crime against the indigenes, the entire northerners suffer for it weather Fulani or Hausa
aside this recent one that happen at ogheghe ( Benin ), there has always been situation like this or even worse than this recent one were the entire northerners in Benin were been attack from upper axis of Benin to ringroad, Lagos street, new benin, Erie, sapale road,ugbowo, etc

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, Wednesday, ordered the immediate closure of all illegal cattle markets across the state.

This was just as the governor reiterated the banonnight-grazing of cattles across the state between 6pm and 6am daily.

Obaseki also cautioned landlords not to allow their property to be used as an illegal market for sales of cattle.

He disclosed this in Benin City during a meeting with members of Arewa Community, security agencies and members of Ogheghe Community in Ikpoba Okha local government area of the state,

Obaseki said, “All illegal cattle markets in Edo state must be closed immediately. Local governments are to submit all approved legal cattle markets.”

He expressed worry that the peace mechanism put in place some years ago by his administration was not working as expected.

Recall that Obaseki in a fact-finding meeting in Udo in Ovia North-East local government area last week said the state government would create grazing areas to avoid clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

He had said “We will create an area where the cattle will go regularly to eat, as they must not go to peoples’ farms. This will stop cattle from moving round the community including in farmlands.”

But in a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., said that the government’s position on the matter is clear and has not shifted since it insisted that it would not cede its land to herdsmen.

According to him, “Our attention has been drawn to misleading and false media reports claiming that the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has agreed to provide grazing land for herders in the state.

“Our position on the matter of grazing land is clear and has not shifted, which is that there is no free land for grazing in Edo State. Grazing is an economic activity just like poultry and piggery or any other agricultural enterprise. The Edo State Government will not cede any land in the state for grazing.”
The governor has continually warned against the politicizing of security issues,” he added.

Ogie noted that some political actors are trying to instigate the type of killings witnessed in some states in the country just because they are embittered by the heavy loss they suffered in the political space.

He continued: “Thankfully, their plans have failed because of the pre-emptive actions taken by Governor Obaseki and the security agencies.

We condemn, in the strongest terms, the current futile efforts by these defeated politicians in the state to cause mayhem and chaos among our people.

“All peace-loving people of Edo State are enjoined to dedicate this Lenten period to pray for peace at this difficult time in the life of our dear country.”
