Zluky:

This is somewhat misleading. While your application will be so much easier with the EU BlueCard or even just ordinary work permit, students generally have valid residence permits and are eligible for family reunion.

Some cities just ask you as a student to have a certain amount of money in blocked account while others want you to have a fairly stable job and even when the salary is not enough, the ABH ask you to block the shortfall. The interpretation of the student being able to support him/herself and the family varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction(city). Everybody knows they don't apply rules the same way in Germany.

The best thing is to find out what obtains in your city.

That said, you can check your eligibility on https://digital.diplo.de/navigator/en/visa#/vib

However, there are situations where students may not be eligible, for example, if the marriage occurred after residence permit was issued to the student. You can check the following link to be sure.

https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/visa-service/buergerservice/faq/09-familiennachzug-studenten/606700

To say that students are not eligible in absolute terms, is inaccurate.

Thank you for the information.

It was rejected a few weeks after the interview, reason being that we got married after my spouse had travelled to Germany for studies. That's the only reason they gave for the rejection, so we had to remonstrate as directed and to give them reasons why they should approve the reunion visa. Does it mean that students can't apply for family reunion?

Am so sorry about that please can you share why you were denied Visa , was it at the last stage of getting approval or your application was rejected along the line, I meant before the process was completed [/quote]

Hello everyone. Please I have a question.
How long/ sure is it for a family reunion visa Remonstration to be approved? It's been 5 months since we applied for a Remonstration at the German Consulate following a rejection letter. They have acknowledged the receipt of the Remonstration letter but since then we haven't heard anything from them or ABH.
Is it wise to send emails or contact the Consulate or ABH?
Please, a good advice will be appreciated.

Hello,

Please can someone give me an idea about the price for public health insurance in Germany for someone above the age of 30.

Thank you.

You can not get a Public health insurance by yourself if you are above 30 here in Germany. You can only get it through your employer when you get a job. You need a Private insurance for now.

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for this house God has done it for me. Come and see me dancing.

I just received my AM mail now and I've been asked to submit my passport and a travel health insurance for 3 months and also indicate my travel date.

Question Please. I know this has been asked before but i need clarifications.

Someone recommended axa mansard, so i checked and I'm seeing N19,575.30k for the General Travel Insurance, is this the right one?
If you are not sure of axa mansard. Use IGI insurance.it is recognized by German embassy and it is what I used.

Hello house

I have another question for the Nairalanders in Germany.

* will I be required/ asked to pay for a return ticket while booking a flight to Germany, knowing that the student visa is a 3month visa?

Good morning

Please my question still goes to those kind helpers in Germany.

My questions are;
1. Must one travel (to Germany) on the expected travel date stated in the insurance letter? (Can one exceed the travel date?)

2. Will the visa duration start counting from when the visa was issued to me or from when I arrive Germany?

Am asking these questions so as to decide on the date I will chose for my travel. Please I need an answer A.S.A.P

THANK YOU

1. It is safe. Use better courier service like DHL or FedEx . You should be able to track it and embassy too will likely send an acknoledge mail to you when they receive it; just that , I don't think they do that all the time.

2.They will get back to you through the courier envelope you submitted during the interview. They will post your visa and all your original documents to the address stipulated on the self addressed courier envelope.

3. It will be stated on your insurance and at the same time you will write a letter to that effect. Shalom

Thank you very much.

Good morning house.

I received a mail from the German Consulate Lagos asking me to send them my passport and a health insurance letter for six months and to indicate my travel date, via courier service or in person and submit them at the gate of the Consulate General Lagos.

My questions are:

1. Is it safe to send these docs via courier service to the Consulate, considering the cost and risk of travelling to Lagos from ENUGU and back during this season only to submit the doc at the gate of the Consulate General?

2. How will they get back to me and how long does it take to get a feedback from the Consulate from when they received the documents (passport and health insurance letter)?

3. As stated in the mail " please indicate your travel dates". Am I to just write a letter indicating my travel date or what?

Please those that have gone through the process should help me out with better suggestions and advice.

God bless you

Does anyone have the idea of how to apply for the reprinting of my deutsch bank block account confirmation. The embassy said that I can't use the one they sent to me in September

Try if this link will be helpful to you.
Deutsche Bank contact
https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pfb/content/pk-konto-und-karte-international-students.html?pfb_tab=34880-34883

Or u can still go to the embassy with the one u have.

Good Evening everyone
please, for those that did there student interview recently at Lagos, please how did u go about the prepaid envelope ( can it be bought on the day of the interview, or you can enlighten me on how it is done.
and please I noticed there is a new questionnaire that contains all siblings information, reference. please should the form be filled by hand or in the computer before printing
And please what time is best to be there for interview.
appreciate all responses. Danke

Had my interview 2nd week of Nov. U can buy the prepaid envelope at any DHL or FedEx office around you(it is cheaper, u can also buy it wen u get to the embassy environ on the day of ur interview(mind u it will be damn expensive). While purchasing it, tell them purpose of buying it and they will direct u on other procedures.
Secondly, fill the questionnaire with ur computer, print it and sign with a pen. There is no much protocol abt that questionaire, download d one online (if it is black and white online, print it like that). Mine was black and white and It was not rejected.(am saying this because u will surely meet crazy pple that will scare the hell out of you, telling u it must be coloured). In fact the questionnaire online is black and white, unless it has been changed just recently.
Be at the embassy as early as possible, depending on ur appointment time. Mine was 7.00am and I was there by 5.30am.as at 6.40am they had started attending to us.
All the best.

Them dey give visa for language study? Shebi them talk for here say embassy go direct una go Goethe Institute for Lagos?

Well I dnt knw for those going to study only language. But if you are to study language as a condition to be enrolled in a University, then u will be attended to. U have to submit ur University conditional admission offer letter together with the language school enrolment letter (stating the name of the University, admission offered and the reason for the language course), also prove of payment for the language program and other important docs required to the embassy.

Hello fellow Nairalanders,

My name is James, and I reside in abuja.

I recently applied for a German Language Course in a language school in Hannover Germany.

The name of the school is The Language Gallery which is run by GISMA Business School.

After filling the application forms and submitted to them, I was sent an Offer Letter that contains information on my proposed course fee etc. I am meant to pay the supposed course fee before they will send me admission / invitation letter to take to the German Embassy for my Visa Application.

But as a Naija guy, I can't just go and make payments without verifying and carry out proper investigation before making any payments. Una sabi say yahoo yahoo guys full everywhere.

Please my fellow Nairalanders schooling and living in Germany, abeg make una help me find out about the school if it is genuine and exist with the said address.

GISMA Business School,
Goethestrasse 18, 30169 Hannover, Germany.
Tel: +490511546090 Email: info@gisma.com

Abeg make una help me as I have been to the German Embassy here in abuja but wasn't given any attention. Don't know what else to do.

Also is the picture of my Offer Letter.

Thank you all.

Y not go online and find out more about the language school or use ur Google map to find the school with the address. If u ar nt satisfied, look for another language sch, there are lots of them in Germany.

From my Google map the school exits. This is what I saw with the address. U can still do some personal research online or get more info from others.
