I quite appreciate the passion in what you guys said. I'm beginning to feel as well as flow. Somebody, please help me to remove the blind folds in my eye so that I can also start picking these golds on the Nigerian streets.

I once read on the newspaper that a visiting Chinese biz man to Nigeria while driving along the streets of Lagos said; "There are so much golds on the streets of Lagos to be picked."
My question is; are there truly golds on the streets of this our economically wrecked nation?

What makes some people a success and others not? Is it a special something only some are born with? Several people can have the same opportunities, but only a few become a success. What is the difference?

Take two people who graduated from the same college. They majored in the same area and even had very similar grade point averages. They both began jobs at the same level and in the same corporation. Each one married happily and had two kids, one boy and one girl. They seemed equal in every way. For the sake of this example, let's say they even had an equal number of quality ideas. Yet one went on to become president of the company and the other rose only to mid-management. What was the critical difference?

Information is power, or is it?

In any area of life you need information to move forward. If knowledge was all you needed there would not be so many unsuccessful people with advanced degrees. Their intellectual accomplishments would move them forward in the world.

You can also be able to organize all the information in a nice flow chart or Power Point presentation. You can have 10 times more ideas than someone else, and that other person will achieve beyond you if you do not have one crucial quality. What is it? Action, of course.

Action Moves the World

In ancient Greece Archimedes said, "Give me a place to stand with a lever and I will move the whole world." Contained within this quote are three necessary ingredients for success:


Knowledge - Knowing how to use the lever
Your place in the world - The place to stand
Action - The movement of the lever against the world

Knowledge is all the information you gather. The information can be in the form of pure knowledge (2+2=4) or applied knowledge (take 2 apples, sell them for a buck each and you have $2). Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Bill Gates took knowledge and applied it with great innovation and changed the world. You could say they moved the world with electronics being their lever.

Have you ever wondered if there were others who had similar ideas as these men who ushered in the technological age? I wouldn't be surprised if there were many. Even if there were others, these were the fellows who acted upon their ideas. They had the inner resources to take hold of the idea and put it into action.

Action is the defining difference between those who are successful and those who are not. You can have all the knowledge of your field, but if you do not apply it, if you do not take action, you will not be a success.

You know that idea you have? Start putting it into action right now!
