What do you call that damned big rat that your fellow are always roasting on your back door nothing-for-good Nollywood movies?
mumu,do you call that a rat?
how art thou fallen,oh south africa.thou art fallen a great fall; as the rain falleth from the sky.thou didst weaken thy people's IQ with thy terrible fall.thy educational standard doth falleth in shambles and thy people beggeth for peanuts from thy government.[-an excerpt from "chronicles of the soweto fall" by evarn]

That account to Nigeria as a whole. You have a problem of understanding. I listened to one expect from Mobil when he commented about the worrisome raising depletion of oil reserves across the world. He used many countries as examples including Nigeria and he also commented about the mounting pressure among oil companies to explore for new reserves. South Australia also recently made a huge breakthrough.
lalela, nigeria's crude oil reserve isnt by any means depleting, that red neck didnt know what he was talking about,or perhaps he was talking about the depletion in the niger delta.we're discovering crude almost everyday.period.

Nigeria has very big solid minerals deposits, Limestone from Ewekoro is still being mined today by WAPCO-Lafarge cement, it's been on before my father was born. Benue cement, Ashaka cement, Dangote cement, that have their own Limestone mines in other far away parts of Nigeria.

Nigeria also has oil sand Bitumen deposits that is not counted with oil and not controlled by OPEC production quota, our Bitumen in Ilaje Ondo is among the largest in the world and how many solid minerals do you want to count in Nigeria? Government gets royalties everyday and our VAT revenue is huge with the biggest economy in Africa.

Giant in population, Giant in dollars, Giant in GDP, Giant in economic growth rate, Giant in intelligence, Giant in international influence, Giant in arts and science, Giant spiritually and physically....that is Nigeria for you !
.
hahahaha....true brov,true.

Mr know-it-all save that misinformation to yourself. You are not an expect to analyse such complex issues. I watched a channel on eNCA discussing about such oil exploration in SA and everything that was analysed by foreign experts was positive. Save that negativity to yourself, SA is heading forward with exploration.
Nigeria's oil depletion
http://peakoil.com/geology/nigeria-decries-oil-reserves-depletion-to-35bn-barrels
fool, that 35bn barrels of oil is in the niger delta, that article was talking about oil depletion in the niger delter.what of the newly found oil in the chad-basin? or the newly found aje oil field in lagos?,are they also depleted too?.mumu.anyways,SA hasnt yet started oil exploration, perhaps they will start by 2100.

Don't make a joke of yourself. Do you think that over 20 giant oil companies can flock down to SA for nothing if there was no need for new oil reserves in the world. My friend are you trying to suggest to me that even if large oil reserve is discovered in SA, such a discovery will not be viable? You are dreaming. Oil is currently running dry undergoing a stage of depletion in many countries and the world is currently exploring for new reserves and such a discovery will definitely triple our revenues. Thank you!!!!
nonsense, you will soon discover that in the end,oil is only a temporal solution to economic woes.and what gave you the idea that the world oil is depleting?,in a country like nigeria, about 50% of our oil hasnt even yet been discovered.

Your cognitive abilities require an urgent overhaul. Don't you see an opportunity for job creation, increase in economic growth rate, development of infrastructure, foreign investment and a sharp increase when the rebasing of the GDP is done.
all that cannot be achieved if you dont have a ready market to purchase it from you.
is it the european who will purchase from you?-sorry,they already have america and russia
.
is it the asians?-sorry they already have russia and nigeria
.
is it the middle easterns?-sorry,but they already have saudi arabia, iraq, iran etc
.
is it south americans?-sorry they already have venezuela
.
is it africans?-sorry,but they already have nigeria, libya, tunisia, algeria etc
.
is it americans?-sorry,they're already producers of oil
.
.
so what are you gonna do with your shale oil?,drink it?,export it to mars?.the only thing you would gain from it is abundance and reduced priceof fuel.

I say again, I can never be defeated by a Nigerian educated mind. If I go offline, I do it because there is something else very important to attend to and not because I am running away from you. I can never run away from a half baked brain that still need to be polished.
that is untrue{like you're fond of saying},isnt it the same "half-baked brained nigerians" who built this forum for you to express your opinions to the world.a feat that your countrymen are yet to PROPERLY master.

It will take it somewhere.
where?,how?,even big OPEC countries are now struggling as it is,pray tell me,how will it take you anywhere when the oil market is already overflowing with both shale and regular oil?,even if you start producing shale oil, you'll be hard pressed to see any customer to purchase from you.

bigger budget to buy equipments.
but you forget that the more weapons you buy,the more money you spent maintaining them and training personnel to operate them.when people hear that the US spends over US$600 billion per year on military, they automatically assume that all the money is used to purchase new military tech.,but the thing is that, hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent on training and maintainance yearly.

Maybe the Chinese do remember it was the technology gap, that caused them massive casualties the last time they met the yankies.
Russia is still behind the USA, in military tech.
the chinese didnt really lose against the americans,it was more of an impasse, though i'll say that america didnt really exercise all its naval power,if they had, they might have pulverized the chinese peninsula into stone ages.but alas,if a naval war happens again,i doubt that it would yield the same results for the americans as it did before.but like i said earlier, russia is a different animal entirely, and it would be too hasty to conclude that russia is behind the US in military tech,no one really knows how powerful they're.have you heard of the bear and the puppy?.

In the open ocean no country can challenge the USA Navy.
Regarding territory the USA has bases all over the world.
perhaps.but USA is already getting agitated by china's increasing naval strength.though china has manpower, they cant yet boast of an 'american-level' technology, but russia is a different animal entirely.

SA is estimated to have the world's fifth largest reserves of shale gas. Will that ever be a possibility?

http://www.werksmans.com/legal-briefs-view/potential-impact-on-international-investment-in-south-africas-oil-and-gas-sector/
perhaps it would help you propel your economic growth to at least 3%,too many saffers depend on the government for their daily meal,i can only imagine the disaster it would generate if government no longer feed you because of low revenue.anyways, this comes at a time when virtualy almost every country on earth can now produce their own oil,i dont think SA would go anywhere with shale oil, there is more than enough oil flooding the world market as it is.

The US, obviously. Their military budget alone is over that of many African countries combined.
biggest budget does not equal to strongest navy.we'll know how vigorously the russians train their military personnel, they arent exactly lacking equippments too.

$20 Billion total... as in over many years
that wasnt what he said,he{mzilakazi} quoted sanusi lamido{ex-CBN governor},by alleging that $20 million took flight from the excess crude account in 2012.when henry challenged him to reveal how it is possible to make $30 billion and yet steal $20 billion,he{mzilakazi} ran away trembling in shame.go back and read his comments and you will see what i'm talking about.

I have never admitted to such lies and neither did I make such a claim. That is completely new to me. However, if you want me to disgrace you publicly, I can comfortably do so with impunity. Do you want me to do so sir?
Do you mean that I should discredit the most reliable source such as world bank in the name of saving face of Nigeria? Over my dead body will I ever do that.
You openly admitted that $20 billion was stolen from the national excess crude account.and i remember henry120 called you on it,but you never replied him,you cowardly ran offline and later deflected the subject of discussion when you grew too confused to form a coherent thought.
i'm not holding you back in disgracing yourself by posting incorrect facts.feel free to show your ignorance,i'm ready to educate you should you feel the urge to spout more propaganda.
world bank data are a joke.they dont know the realities on ground, they just add a few numbers together and assume that they're right.

The USA.
it may seem so because the US has:
*the largest fleet tonnage than the next 13 largest navies combined
*the largest carrier fleet in the world
*about 62 destroyers not to mention tincoderogas
*has the largest fleet of submarines etc.
but what of in term of training?,dont let us forget that russia has more territorial waters than the US.

Do you want me to prove to you that your total revenues are less than $30 billion? Don't worry, I have an i-phone here.
you could be using a super-computer,but it would do you no good in proving lies.last week, you openly admitted that $20 billion was stolen by the nigerian government,if according to your claim we make $30 billion a year, how then was $20 billion stolen without plunging the country into the 17th century?.get your facts straight, and dont rely on the world bank's assumptions.

That's what you are making proved by world bank and many sources. What you make from oil has to be shared by all stake holders which the government is also part of the stake holder.
nope, oil isnt our only source of revenue,we make money from royalties and duties, taxes etc, nigeria has a 170 million, and every body pays his/her tax directly or indirectly, when all these money are coalated,it runs far more than a paltry $30 billion.its simple logic.
