Geeba: Visa approved @Lagos embassy Jan 5th, 2021
I give all the glory to God because he was in control! The journey has been a rollercoaster more details after the transcript...
After taking my I20 and passport & right thumb printing...
V.O: Where are you headed?
Me : I am going to the University of South Florida, for my masters in Pharmaceutical nanotechnology.
V.O: What’s this course going to do for you? Me: With a degree in Pharmaceutical nanotechnology, I would have the knowledge and skills to work in a pharmaceutical industry. I would be opportune to introduce nanotechnology to pharmaceutical industries in Nigeria. This would help improve the quality of drug products in terms of their design, delivery, and development ( I stuttered a bit at the end)
V. O: I see you had a student exchange program last year in the U.S what was that about?
Me: Yes, I attended FAMU( called the full name) for a student exchange program in advanced pharmacy practice.
V.O: What did you do there?
Me: I had lectures and participated in clinical rotations.
V.O : How long were you there?
Me: A month.
V.O : One month?
Me: Yes.
V.O: What is Korent Services?
Me: That’s my father’s company. He is sponsoring my education.
V.O: What do they do there?
Me: It’s an Oil servicing company. They repair and service equipment used in the drilling of oil.
V:O: What does your mother do?
Me: She is an Optometrist.
V.O: How many siblings do you have ?
Me: I have five siblings.
V.O: And what’s the oldest doing?
Me: I am the oldest.
V:O: the one after you ?
Me: He is in Manchester University obtaining his masters degree.
Okay, I will be issuing your visa. Take this you will find information on the collection of your passport.
Me: Thank you.
She asked for my DS160 confirmation page and I gave her.
I want to give glory to God because these questions were from him. I prepared and allowed him to do the rest. Thanks to everyone who posted their transcript. I learnt a lot from them. Praise God!
The details: I deferred my course from Aug 2020 to Spring 21 and I applied for an emergency appointment. I was lucky. I got it. But I had to cancel my appointment after flying into Lagos because of the endSARS protest and also because my SEVIS payment hadn’t reflected (you need to allow 72hrs before appointment I think) I scheduled another appointment on the 4th of December . The embassy rescheduled it for me to Jan 5th. I can only Praise God that all the effort was not in vain. Congratulations, you were one of the very few approved in Lagos today. Upto 80% I guess were denied today. I saw and heard you. |

Family › Re: I Dislike My Small Stature by Event14(f): 8:35am On Nov 28, 2020 |
Venerealisles: So this year my family decided we were gonna come back to naija early for the Xmas celebrations, we also wanted to do Thanksgiving in Nigeria hence the early arrival.
Well, we were back home in Lag, so I decided to go hang out with some of my long time friends, and what I saw shocked me ooh. They were really big now, felt like they were way older than me. To make matters worst, I senior them pretty damn well, but my tiny physique just makes them think otherwise.
The last straw that broke the camel back was when I went over to my cousin's place, only for my Aunt to start saying stuffs like "I look like a toothpick" she even went as far as saying I should start eating enough beans!! Chaii I have suffered .
I will be 25 by December, but yet most people I come across still think I am a teenager, Little did they know that the so called teenager is the owner of a business in Lagos and also a degree holder.
Inspite of my achievements, I feel what they are saying is beginning to get to me, i can't change the way I look, if I could, I'd probably add more height to my physique . My dear, I used to feel that way too but I'm building my self esteem gradually, it's not easy being a group where everyone is big except you, I try to see myself the way I am, even if you eat, nothing will add. It's sometimes frustrating but you just have to. I'm 5'4 and weighs 53kg currently which took me over a year to add to get, as in I'm so happy I'm weighing that and I hope to get to at least 55. |
Career › Re: Why Are People In These Professions Very Rude? by Event14(f): 9:03pm On Nov 23, 2020 |
Being in a profession doesn't make you a rude person per say. Imagine one nurse be in charge of over 20 patients during a shift, the work load including some very rude patients and relatives insulting you on top the job, and you have to make sure you do everything before the end of your shift. Some persons can bear the insults anf still smile at it even begging cos they might just attack you. But most persons have very low stress threshold who wouldn't tolerate that. It happens in all profession not only the one ones mentioned above, it's an individual thing and not by being in a particular profession. I am nurse, when I'm on duty, I make sure I joke with my patients, smile with them, play with them, beg them if need be cos I small, and I not fit make one patient or relatives beat me join the small salary wey I dey get. Most patients and thier relatives are too rude arrogant and very provocative and they already have the notion that nurses are rude and they come prepared ready to attack anyone.
It's unfair though |

Chonco: Alright, i know why i asked if the money is actually enough because your I20 will indicate too. Before i continue, did your school actually indicate the Sponsor's name on your I20 or just 'family'? It's important to know this.
If you truly want to make some changes, if yiur application was submitted less than 30 days ago, you may log on to their site and "retrieve an application." Open the retrieve app and input the initial ID num, remember your security question and proceed correctly and carefully. After that, submit the application and you'll automatically have a new Confirmation num and the bar code, then print My dad's name is also in my i-20. My application is already above 30days. |

[quote author=Friedpotato post=96223777]this is not hard na. Fill another DS-160 and put your uncle as the sponsor.[/quot
Ok, thanks. Does it require I pay another fee? |

Geewin69: Any discrepancy or irregularity in the information you present may optimize your chances of getting denied. It's safer and better to be uniform. If your Dad is on your DS form as Sponsor, try to get his SoA.
My two cents.
The gurus in the house will explain better.
Thanks, I appreciate. |

Chonco: Written note may further complicate issues. Do you bear the same surname with your Uncle? Hope the money on your Uncle's account will 'almost' the same or above your tuition fee or total fee for your studies as stated on your I20 form? The money is way more than the amount like more, he's my mum's younger brother so we don't share Same surname,. He'd been supportive throughout my undergrad school, I'm a nurse, I also work with him in his hospital cos he owns one |

God bless you all for all you do. I need help
I filled my dad as my sponsor, my interview is in two weeks, but my dad is presently not in available to get the SOA. my uncle who is a medical doctor is willing to help with his SOA and with a written note regarding that as my sponsor but my dad's name is reflecting on ds160. Will this affect in any way? |
