hey do you have superSU or superuser, when rooting did you select superSU in drop down instead of superuser? Root it properly by selecting superSU in drop down!

edit the name by bringing ".apk" close to last letter which is 4, make sure there is no gap between them.

gioneerp2: It's great to see that so many of you who ran into glitches while using your P2 or even bricked it managed to fix their phone using the Walton Primo F2 stock rom. But I understand that the instructions given in the rom's download page are somewhat outdated and might cause confusion. So I'm putting up a detailed step-by-step installation guide right here for you all

Here's what you need, to begin with : 1. A Gionee P2 with more than 50% charge (less will do but try and be safe), 2. A Windows PC, 3. The Gionee P2 usb cable.

Got it all? Good for you. Take a breath. Relax. And now... here we go.

First, download the Walton Primo F2 stock rom from HERE - http://www.mediafire.com/download/terzpsp1k1jw8a2/F2_firmware.rar

Now, unrar the archive. Once you are done with that, you have to install the usb driver in your computer so that your phone gets recognized even when it’s turned off and without a battery. And you must do so manually. So first, unzip the ‘USB VCOM Driver’ package inside the ‘Drivers’ folder. Now the installation. Here’s how you go about that.
In Windows, go to Control Panel and open Device Manager.
Click any of the device groups you see here.
From ‘Action Menu’, select ‘Add Legacy Hardware’
The ‘Add Hardware Wizard’ will open up. Click Next.
Select ‘Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)’
Click Next 2 times, then click the ‘Have Disk’ button
Click Browse and find where the downloaded, unrar-ed firmware folder is. Go to Drivers > USB VCOM Driver > select the .inf file compatible with your Windows OS (XP, Vista or Win7, 32 bit or 64 bit)
Click Open and OK. The driver will be listed. Then click Next. The driver will finish installing.
Well, now that you’re done with the driver installation, time to flash your phone using SP Tools.
Go to ‘Flash Tools’ folder, unrar the SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1312.0.139 package, click 3-4 times to go deep into it where there will be a collection of files, find the little blue ‘Flash_tool’ application file, double click on it to run. The interface will open up.
Click on ‘Download Agent’, browse to the same folder where you found the ‘Flash_tool’ application, and select MTK_AllinONne_DA.
Now click on scatter loading, browse to Software > Primo-F2_0301_T5159. Then select the text document called ‘MT6572_Android_scatter’.
Now click Firmware-> Upgrade and then connect the usb cable with moble while the battery is removed.
Now insert battery. It’ll star downloading. Hold your breath and wait.
After a few minutes it will show a pop up saying ‘Firmware Upgrade’ with a nice green circle. Now, you’re done. Next time you turn on your phone it will be running a shiny new rom, and work like a newly-bought phone!
Of course, don’t forget to do a factory reset first thing when you boot up your phone!

So that’s about it. If you have any doubts of troubles, ask them here. Good luck flashing!

kolidave: what you see in front of your fone is the front camera not notification light.

But even a kid know front camera, what he actually see is light sensor, it's function is to adjust screen brightness like it increases in sun and reduces brightness in dark if screen brightness is set at automatic, also it controls screen light when making calls I.e if you put your phone in the ear, the light will off, if you bring it out, it will on also if making calls and you use your hand place in it, the light will off vice versa, it is near front camera and beep small red light when making calls in the dark. In conclusion p5 doesn't have notification light but light sensor.

I think Opsson ivo6655 is better bargain than this ivo6622 or D1.

... Boy if not dat it lacks 900MHz in 3g Iike tecno I would have bought without looking back. The only phone tecno has dat can challenge this only phantom series. This is bargain guys.
... NB: having 2100MHz only in 3g is not a problem if you use it only in naija o...

Airtel NG, and make sure the APN
is set as internet.ng.zain.com, if it persists sub for 10mb.

do you use to browse b4? If yes use N100 subscribe for 10mb, if no go to access point & put in apn= Internet.ng.zain.com

disable those useless follow come app you don't need also try to no kind of app u open b4 running your game, any 512 ram will lag if don't manage the ram well, using some ram hungry app like Next launcher, dx toolbox etc is detrimental!

you don't require pc suite to use android as modem. With Wi Fi Hotspot, you can use it as modem anytime. Just on the phone's Hotspot and use your laptop or any gadget wifi to search for it & connection.

I just sent somone to buy me a gp2 from lag, but I hav a few questions please.
1. Is there any app in playstore to rectify lack of autofocus in gp2, and does d phone has touch light?
2. I have used an iphone 3g and I'v handled a tecno p3. Pardon my ignorance though, is gp2 as smooth like dose 2 phones? Am not a gamer but an heavy browser and I thinks those phone have satisfy my need over time.
3. Is d camera as sharp as iphone 3g or tecno p3? I kno dat dose specs are low but once d camera quality is not lesser than any of those,am satisfied.
4. Lagging!!! I hope lag is only attributed to gaming only,not browsin?once browsing is smooth am satisfy.

I haven't use iPhone 3g but since you compared to tecno p3, the phone is better than p3 in every department, they are not mate at all, you will surely testify. This is bargain bro.

gioneerp2: Initial review after using the stock rom of Walton Primo F2 for about an hour on Gionee Pioneer P2:

GOODS...
1. Works like a charm.
2. Less bloatware.
3. Stock android launcher! None of the crappy stuff Gionee put into the phone.
4. Very close to pure android.
5. Adobe flash player comes pre-installed, so does MX player
6. Great support for the Bengali language since it is from Bangladesh. If you want to use Bengali for texts or IMs this ROM is a delight!
7. Good selection of ringtones. Nice little chimes and ting tings.

BADS:
1. No update channel. They are pretty much making it clear that you are pretty much left on your own; no future goodies from the sky.
2. The auto brightness sucks. At one point it started to go up and down on its own. Switch to manual brightness and problem solved.
3. No google keyboard. Only AOSP.
4. The boot animation sucks.
5. The colour combination used in the dialler app is ugly. P2 had a better sense of aesthetics in that one.

Well, that's about it. Will post more when I get to know it better. For now the system is working smooth like butter

just make sure u charge am wella wen u charge for d first 3times (like 8-12hrs) according to d manufacturer's instructions.

the heavier you use it the stronger it becomes...I'm ready for any contradictory opinion to this!

irrespective of any battery saver but I still recommend saver DAT comes wife it but d pro version den u can tweak whatever u want so far your fone is rooted.

... You may ask why this post, yes this is the reason. Check out mt6572 that both p2, p5, ivo6622, m7 is using is the the cheapest chipset purposely developed for producing extremely cheap droid. It is even COMBO ( bleuthooth 4.0, H+, GPS embedded in the chipset) believe me if XIAOMI use this chipset, the price of the phone will be less than 8k judging by the price of their mediatek devices like Red Rice. Remember XIAOMI currently top atutu chat with cheapest krait core.

Here is the conclusion, both GiONEE, TECNO, etc are making a lot of bunch out of us and we are here insulting each other. If I see better price with a lot of efizzy, that where you will find me, call me unstable!!!
