If you have installed screen filter, turn it off b4 you install also go to settings, in security settings tick unknown source. Hope it helped?

The problem with GiONEE is most of the buyers will buy the phone expecting to find fault, small thing they couldn't do, they will say I know it will be like this; they will immediately conclude this is faulty without trying hard, if when it is T only, they will surely find solution because no alternative...

for camera: open the camera, go to the settings, tap three dot then change the picture size from 5M pixel to even lowest size QVGA depend on what you need. For contact: save the contact in phone memory and there you find options to add picture. Hope it helped?

On your etisalat sim text *222*2*1# to get 100mb for one month if u want 500mb just replace the 1 with 2 and for 3gig put 3. 100mb cost N1000 500mb not so sure but just try 100mb i'm using it right now on my phone and to check your balance *228#. Remember your phone has to be gprs enabled holla back.

bigiyaro: the phone lags straight out of the box, it comes with a custom ROM,(this is very limiting as many developer options are removed,i suggest u go for a phone with stock ROM, u can tweak it to your taste) it also has camera issues i.e a single camera shot gives u an image of 2-3 + mb.u can't use ur pics for caller id in ur contacts. it sometimes blows ur wallpaper pic out of proportion.
so far these are the things i've discovered abt the p2.

Oga, you can use picture on your contact, it is just you couldn't figure it out, regarding image size, any pictures with that resolution will be large, change the resolution. Simple.

The display the guy mentioned is the way icon is rounded by gionee custom UI called amigo UI, this display can be easily change by Go launcher or Nova launcher any other like Next launcher 3D, besides is his personal opinion regarding the look ( go back to his post and read it again, he said "default launcher" but my brother p5 is very good also they almost the same so I advice you to compare both side by side in the market and make your choice. Something appalling in this Nairaland is, you will see somebody quoting you immediately without getting his facts right. I believe this is intellectual forum with some victims of ASUU strike, graduate etc. Let's try to get our fact right before you quote someone wrong, I believe here is place to help each other and get our neighbours informed not place of rivalry or doing unpaid job of promoting products over another in expense of your neighbours being a victim.

Oga, I will respond to you because I respect you a lot. Apart from having the same MT 6572 there are notable different in quality,; display, bluethoot 4.0, compass etc and most especially having GSM qaud band and 3g frequency of 900/2100 MHz, I personally need these frequency because I want use it outside Nigeria. That doesn't mean p5 is not good, the phone is fantastic all round but it boiled down to individual needs! Hope I made myself clear @ marcjoe.

I will only show you some obvious reasons that even tech illiterate will be able to distinguish. Check out page 23 of P5 thread and you will understand that p5 only boast of 3g both sim and stock OS besides custom Roms is what makes android special, you will be waiting for Ts5 with 4.4 kitkat next year while I will be flashing my Gp2 with it because it has quality hardware to compete with next year line up!

Mafia4life: Phone doesn't affect data speed. They are all the same. Since we are in Nigeria with poor network, a phone having its downlink as 22.6Mb/sec will download at the same speed with another phone having 14.4Mb/sec downlink. The reason is due to our ISP. Cowboy made mistake saying that. He must have forgotten that network may favour you today and screw you up the next day

That is ridiculous from you, I will advice you to do more research, you can't compare the efficiency of class 8, 10 to class 12 chip. These chips use different numbers of slot to manipulate different connection to data Networks and the higher the slot the more efficient for instance when class with 2 slot are struggling, the one with 4 slot will use the other two to establish link else where ( eg. Having 4 lines from PHCN pole, you can easily change line if the power is low in one line but person with 2 line will be stock with low current) this is different from total speed but it is the ability to manipulate available speed. You can do better than this please!

@directonpc, Godvilla, Emikem etc, can you ppl try flash Tp5 Rom in this phone since it has almost the same specifications. The last time I check p5, they wrote 3g on one sim which means is software that made it 3g on both sim.

Mafia4life: I can speak boldly about P5. Here is my unbiased review cos that's what I use now.
Tecno's tradition is to use 256k colour for its devices which made Gionee P2 suppress TP5 in display. I see reasons why they say Tecno is a cheat ( though that doesn't affect me) because there are good numbers of Chinese Android phone with nice spec eg THL W100 ( Quadcore @ 1.2 Ghz with 1GB ram) below N16000 supported in XDA-forum. Well to me, they tried for us joor. Back to business....
The camera is usually poor for major Tecno device and P5 inclusive. Internal memory is enough for use. The phone brings you real feel of Jellybeans 4.2.2 and it is very smooth ( no lags before and after installations). Sound very ok compared to Gp2. The physical appearance is the same with GP2. Fifa doesn't lag like that I rate the game play for fifa 14 as same with GP2 ( 90% lag free) .
To me this phone is a better choice than Gionee P2. Both battery rating is same. Both sim has 3G. More android feeling comes in this device than P2. Tecno P5 = 80% Gionee P2 = 70%. The major flop in Gionee is the custom rom that excluded many "developer option" and its GUI frameskip per sec. The major flop in Tecno P5 is the Display ( Very Ok but when compared to GP2, it's a no no) and it's camera. If I am wrong somewhere please point them out
