Bronson Weir Names Nigerian Team To Face Ivory Coast Black Stallions Coach, Bronson Weir has named his Nigerian side to face Ivory Coast on Wednesday in their first match of the 2019 West African Series Championship. Further to Ivory Coast’s 22-12 victory over Ghana, the eagerly-anticipated clash at the Nduom Stadium Elmina is the tie of the series and Weir’s’ side will be looking to put in a strong performance. “I think it is quite clear. to win the series, we have to get a good result against Ivory Coast and to do that, we have to beat them in the contest area,” said Weir. “They are quite good at the breakdown and decent in the air , both areas are a priority for us. Traditionally, Nigeria and Ivory Coast games are always very close, they are tough affairs, so our ability to finish the game strongly is going to be vital. As you know, we had to release Christian Ogar due to lingering injury. captain, Azeez Ladipo is away in the US playing summer sevens but Police winger, Maalik is back in the squad after a long spell away from the team. So we have about eight new boys and we will throw some of them straight in tomorrow. “I can tell you everyone inside our camp believes we can do really well. We are very much looking forward to Wednesday.” Nigerian team to face Ivory Coast Starting line up 15. Gabriel Etim John * (Fullback) 14. Abdulmalik Atomulaku (Right Wing) 13. Willexmania:please they don't. stop feeding people with lies. no club in Nigeria make up to a million in a match day. the highest should be around 500,000. |
LaudableXX:I never wanted to partake in this Stadium argument because my States has More than 9 stadiums and another is being reconstructed for the hosting of Africa Athletic Championship. but I have to correct that lie. I follow Nigeria league every minute and hour and Akwa United has one of the lowest fans based in the league. Stadiums seat are always empty in each match day, I don't even think if they will have up to 500 people In each match day. I don't see the reason why someone will lie just to defend a government. |
Willexmania:make millions in each match day? from where? please stop this lies. even Kano Pillars that have the highest fans based don't make millions in each match day. ticket is 200 and 500 , where is the millions you are talking about with empty seats everywhere. |

It was a late drama at the Ozoro Polytechnic Stadium , Ozoro, Delta State as Marvel International School, Ughelli defeated St. Paul ’ s School, Ozoro 6-5 on penalties in the final of this year ’ s Zenith Bank /Delta Principals ’ Cup. St. Paul started the final game on a high but missed lots of chances in the early minutes of the game played before a huge crowd, including the governor of Delta State , Ifeanyi Okowa . Marvel gradually found their rhythm and started dominating towards the end of the half but failed to make their dominance count as the first half ended goalless . With the announcement of the sum of N 50, 000 for the first goal scorer of the game by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths Development , Evive Ovaukoye, the two teams came out smoking in the second half and it took just two minutes into the game for Marvel Int’ l to take the lead. Etso Emoghene thought he had scored the first goal but saw his goal bound effort rocketed off the bar but the Most Valuable Player of the competition, Philip Ndinwa, was on hand to put the ball back into the net and also pocket the N 50, 000 prize money. Marvel continued to dominate the game as they created several opportunities to increase the lead with Ndinwa hitting the cross bar for the second time in the game. The fans were already on their feet celebrating the second goal after Yeko Daniel dribbled two defenders and goalkeeper, but with the net yawning , his effort went over the bar. He would however rue his miss as St . Paul got the equaliser with almost the last kick of the ball through Atagana Akpode to send the game into the lottery of penalties . Akpode turned from hero to villain during the shoot - out as he missed his penalty kick , his goalkeeper, however , came to his rescue when he saved Onuoha Bethel ’ s kick for Marvel . With the penalty shoot out going to sudden death , it was the heroics of Marvel goalkeeper, Asaha Odemena, who after saving a penalty kick , held his nerve to score the winning. |

As if we don't know what the crowd capacity is like, in that stadium at Uyo. It is only when international matches are played there, that you see the seats getting filled.
When any local training matches played there, you can count the number of spectators inside the stadium, and you will see many empty seats left over, waiting to be filled and getting no takers.
