Team Nigeria won a majority of the tickets to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games at the ITTF African Para Championship taking place in Giza, Egypt.

From the 14 tickets available for men’s and women’s single to Paris at the continental showpiece, Nigeria claimed nine while Egypt picked five as the two nations continued their dominance in Africa.

Faith Obazuaye won the first ticket after emerging champions in class 10 of the women’s single.

Nigerian couple Kayode Alabi and Ifechukwude Ikpeoyi also picked Paralympic Games tickets at the 2023 ITTF Para Championships in Egypt.

Alabi emerged winner in the men’s class six to qualify for his Paralympic Game while Ikpeoyi also picked her maiden ticket in the women’s class five.

Others who clinch Paris 2024 tickets are Lawal Kehinde in the Women’s Single class nine, Isau Ogunkunle in the men’s Single class four, Bolawa Akingbemisilu in the men’s single class five, and Farinloye Victor in Men’s Singles Class eight, Adesope Abiola Wali in Men’s Single Class nine and Olufemi Alabi Alabiyi in the men’s single class ten.

The men’s and women’s double will take place tomorrow Saturday 23rd, the final of the championship.

Countries like Algeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Kenya, Mauritius, and Tunisia also took part in the championship.
