Nigeria's govt businesses go online
Government businesses, including its transactions, with the public, are to be digitalised through the e-form initiative to facilitate efficiency and effective service delivery in the public service.
Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, head of service of the federation, made this known in a circular issued to all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) on Wednesday in Abuja.

The circular directed all MDAs to forward to the National eGovernment Strategies Ltd (NeGSt) all soft and hard copy samples of all categories of government forms.

Ahmed said the e-form initiative would be applicable to all government establishments and would place non-classified government forms in public domain.
“It will also make them accessible for on-line downloads, completion, submission and feedback. NeGSt has set up functional integration platform for the MDAs to deploy the Public Service Network, National Bureau of Statistics Network and the Integrated Fiscal and Economic Management Information System, as well as the eNaira for tracking all electronic payments by CBN and MDAs," it added.

Analysts believe that the introduction of the e-form will promote transparency in governance and facilitate transactions between the government and its various publics.

Commenting on the development, Dr Olu Agunloye, executive vice chairperson, NeGSt, said the initiative would fast-track the implementation of the eGovernment projects in the country.

Agunloye said the project, which had suffered several set backs due to the non-availability of reliable and accurate data, would be jump-started with the e-form initiative.

He said the eGovernment project would rid the public service of the bureaucratic bottleneck, eliminate corruption and lead to efficient service delivery.

Agunloye said the project was about quality service delivery at affordable rates for the benefit of Nigerians.

What I really Want to find out is Where did they get the money that they are using to buy up the country? And secondly, since we have not really wiped out the issue of corruption, I have a feeling that the "Big Boys" behind the scene are not actually "Smart Kids" but the present Politicians in office doing what Tafa Balogun did, using a stooge to front their aspirations to acquire Nigeria's resources.

Any way if you want to download Christian rock, you could call on me to give what I have freely.

SportsNigeria vs. Argentina (World Youth Championship Final) by exago(op): 6:17am On Jun 29, 2005
World Youth Championships

Nigeria's Flying Eagles have qualified for the final of the World Youth Championships in Holland, beating Morocco 3-0 in Kerkrade.  Olympique Marseille defender Taye Taiwo scored the opening goal in the 34th minute, with Olubayo Adefemi and Chinedu Ogbuke scoring subsequent goals in the 70th and 75th minutes.

Nigeria, who last reached the final of the World Youth Championship in 1989, will face Argentina in Saturday's title decider in Utrecht.

So Mamba got his prediction right [3-0]. Hope he gets the prize promised him.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Editing Posts by exago(m): 4:16pm On Jun 02, 2005
To start with, how many of "nairalanders" bother to use the spell checker'. When you are mostly in a hurry to beat the clock at the cafe, its difficult to send post without leaving out at least one or two things wrong or left out of the post.

Editing is fine with me, if the reason for the post is left intact.

As to Seun doing all the editting .... cool. Lets keep praying for Him
Nairaland GeneralRe: How Much To Charge Nairaland Users? (we're going commercial) by exago(m): 8:56pm On Jun 01, 2005
I believe this service is worth its worth any day, thats why I asked for volunteers in the first place to easy the stress on our man Seun, so if paying for some particular privileges it's one way of helping out as well.

I will advice that their be an exclusive section for paying "nairalanders", and the normal nairaland with these privileges disabled.

NB: The payment schedule is what I would want us to put straight, and Length of subscription.

Exago, tell us your story.  Who and who did you help without getting a "thank you" in return?

Demmy, on most forums, only a small minority are regular posters.  I am aware of certain steps that can be taken to encourage more registered members to become active, but you know I have to be sure I have enough manpower at my disposal to handle the required editing and moderation!

Ultimately, I respect the fact that 99% of forum activity is reading, not posting.  Some registered members don't even bother to login to read the forum because they are browsing in the cafes and don't spend a lot of time online.  I encourage registered members to login whenever they are online so they can interact with other members.
Could others like me help out, i mean still under your supervision of course.

A NEW TREND ...........!

Its like there is a new trend I have noticed on nairaland, after people spend their time and money on-line helping you out with your questions and request, people hardly send back their thanks or even acknowledge that they have been helped. sad

Skype is "free Internet telephony that just works".

It is a simple bit of software. It’ll let you make free calls to your friends all over the world. And It’s free

Download, plug in your headset, speakers or USB phone and start calling your friends. The calls have excellent sound quality and are highly secure with end-to-end encryption.

You can also send instant messages with Skype.

Let me know what you think!

PhonesRe: "0806" Phone Numbers on MTN Nigeria Network by exago(m): 3:29pm On May 11, 2005
What' it with MTN, they have not learnt the ART of keeping the first wife, they want to get a new one!

Nigerians are not satisfied with their level of service, and they are extending the 'M' {Madness} to 0806! + 0803!= double Wahala 4 ........

[move]NB: MTN never got their math right, no way they have 10 million subscribers on their network. If they did then I shouldn't be on Vmobile.[/move]
