A young man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Titogate, along Kashim Ibrahim road in Makurdi, the Benue State capital this afternoon at about 1pm. Eyewitnesses told Timenaija.com that three men were seen surrounding the deceased before they opened fire and shot him in the head
The victim died instantly while his killers took advantage of the pandemonium that ensued to mix up with the crowd and escape. Some residents in the area say the attack might be from a rival cult group as the deceased lived in an area in the state notorious for cult activities…

This 21-year-old guy, Winner Deji-Folutile, has been announced as the best graduating student of Covenant University with a 4.972 CGPA in Architecture, the first Architecture student to so emerge in the university’s 14 years’ history. The worst results he ever got were two Bs. He scored As in all other courses.
Winner is also the university’s student council chairman and his set’s valedictorian. He also had the best result in WASSCE and NECO when he graduated from secondary school (Faith Academy, Ota). He also had the third best result in NECO in Ogun State in 2012.
Kudos to him! Academic excellence is always worthy of celebration.

Mavin Records, founded by producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has signed a new management deal with a Lagos-based creative talent firm, ‘The Temple Management Company‘ (TMC).
The deal was signed at the Victoria Island corporate office of the company on Monday, June 27, 2016 between the CEO of TMC, Idris Olorunnimbe, and Mavin boss, Don Jazzy.
After signing, Don Jazzy described the deal as a new dawn for Mavin Records and all its talents.
“Mavin Records is stepping into the future with The Temple Management Company as they redefine creative talent management in Nigeria.”
The new deal comes almost one year after Don Jazzy unveiled digital expert, Tunji Afonja as the new CDO (Chief Digital Officer) of Mavin Records in a bid to strategically expand and grow the business.

Is EFCC working?

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a N21 billion money laundering charge against Air Marshal Adesola Amosu Nunayon (rtd), Air Vice Marshal Jacob Bola Adigun and Air Commodore Gbadebo Owodunni Olugbenga at the Federal High Court in Lagos.
According to The Nation, the former Airforce Chief Air Marshal Nunayon and Air Vice Marshal Adigun had between July 17th and September 16th 2014, allegedly removed over N663.4 million from the Nigerian Air Force accounts to purchase properties at 50-52 Tenterden Grove, London (NW4 1TH) and at 93B Shirehall Park, LondonNW4 2QU, United Kingdom.
They are also alleged to have bought a property at 40A, Bourdillon, Ikoyi, with N900million, and a property at Sinari Daranijo in Victoria Island with N1.5billion.
EFCC said the for,er Airfoce chiefs bought a property named as Cappadol Mall at Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Wuse II Abuja, for N750million, as well as a property worth over N1.7billion at Agobogba Street, Parkview, Ikoyi Lagos, using the Airforce funds. Other properties they allegedly bought using money they stole from the Air Force account include one at Salt Lake Street, Maitama, Abuja; one at Agadez Street off Aminu Kano Crescent, Abuja; 61A, Lake Chad Street, Maitama, Abuja; and one at 1, River Street, Wuse II Abuja using alleged stolen funds.
According to the charge documents, between last
March 6th and April 30th, the accused allegedly used N428,139,539.00 removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to renovate and purchase medical equipment for Solomon HealthCare Ltd situate at 24th Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja Lagos.
Prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo Isiokuwa, who signed the charge, said 42 witnesses will testify when trial begins.
Count one read: “That You, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu Nunayon (Rtd), Air Vice Marshal Jacob Bola Adigun, Air Commodore Gbadebo Owodunni Olugbenga, Delfina Oil and Gas Ltd, Mcallan Oil and Gas Ltd, Hebron Housing and Properties Company Ltd, Trapezites Bdc, Fonds and Pricey Ltd,Deegee Oil and Gas Ltd, Timsegg Investment Ltd And Solomon Health Care Ltd on or about the 5th day of March, 2014 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court conspired amongst yourselves to commit an offence, to wit: Conversion of the sum of N21,467,634,707.43, property of the Nigerian Air Force, which sum was derived from stealing, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 18(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012 and punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act.”
Companies named in the charge are Delfina Oil and Gas Ltd, Mcallan Oil And Gas Ltd, Hebron Housing and Properties Company Ltd, Trapezites BDC, Fonds and Pricey Ltd, Deegee Oil and Gas Ltd, Timsegg Investment Ltd and Solomon Health Care Ltd.

President Buhari yesterday said it was disgraceful that 27 out of the 36 states in the Federation are grappling with inability to pay their workers salary. President Buhari said this during his interactive meeting with workers at the state house Abuja.
“27 out of the 36 states cannot pay salaries. This is a disgrace to Nigeria. It is a disgrace up till now that most of the states cannot pay salaries.
What happened to all we have gotten over the years? We look up and down, left, right and centre, what have we saved? There was nothing because we developed a consumption culture that we were not supposed to develop. Most of your colleagues that have left service, I doubt if they are getting benefits. That is the situation we find ourselves in”he said
