Words failed me and still fail me as I struggle to express the sadness I felt when I received the news Stephen Keshi’s glorious exit. The cold hands of death just served us a distasteful meal! Today, I mourn a man who lived a fulfilled and exemplary life; and as a key member of the football family, I mourn the departure of one of us, an icon in Nigerian football. I mourn a friend and a man that I always related with and looked up to with respect to issues on growth and development of football in Nigeria. We have lost a man we needed so much in a time where all efforts are geared towards repositioning Nigeria football. The Big Boss has left us when his wealth of experience was needed the most in the football sector of this country. It will be hard to talk about Nigerian football without a mention of “Stephen Keshi”, a man we had expected to remain here with us for a long time to come so that we could continue to tap from his wealth of experience. Nigeria will miss you! Anambra state football family will miss you! lalasticlalaIn this time of bereft, I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the Keshis. It must be a very agonizing period for his children and other members of his family who are still in excruciating pains over the demise of their mother and wife who passed onto higher glory just a few months ago. I sincerely sympathize with every one of you. My earnest prayer is that the memories of all the happy times shared with him, will in the fullness of time, ease the hurt and grief that you all feel as a result of the bereavement. I also pray that the good Lord in his infinite mercies, grants every one of you the peace and fortitude to bear the immeasurable loss. To fellow Nigerians and fans of Keshi worldwide who feel must feel aggrieved at this irreparable loss, may the promise contained in the “8 Beatitudes of Christ” which bestows blessings of comfort on all those who mourn as stated in Mathew 5:4 be true to us all in Jesus name…AMEN! To my brother and friend, Stephen Keshi, may the good Lord grant your beautiful soul a peaceful repose in his bosom. Adieu, THE BIG BOSS! Rest in peace! Source: http://timenaija.com/read-dr-ifeanyi-ubahs-condolence-message-to-keshis-family-and-nigerians/ |

https://www.timenaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/index-20.jpg The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday June 1st, detained former Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri over his alleged involvement in a N1.9billion fraud which occurred while he was in office. Fintiri was sworn in as acting governor of the state following the impeachment of the former state governor Murtalla Nyako on July 15th 2014. An EFCC source who spoke with The Nation said Fintiri was invited following a petition … “The governor was invited following a petition to the EFCC by a former member of his cabinet, who said he could not keep quiet on what transpired under Fintiri. From our preliminary findings, we discovered that while in office, the administration of Fintiri awarded two road contracts including a N1billion work for Yola township road and another N1.9billion for road project in Mararaba Garta, which was ravaged by Boko Haram. From our preliminary findings, the two projects were awarded to Roycon Limited. Although there was evidence of the execution of Yola road project, the contracting firm could not move to Mararaba Garta because of Boko Haram insurgency. But from records available, Roycon Limited was given a mobilization fee of N20million. But the said N200million was later traced to Mayim Construction and Properties Limited which is allegedly owned by Fintiri. About $3.8million from the contract sum was alleged to have been paid to Fintiri who used it to purchase a property in Taraba State.Investigation so far revealed that Fintiri took a loan from a bank to set up a tea farm on Mambilla Plateau. But when he allegedly got the $3.8million, he diverted it to offset the loan. We have taken Fintiri into custody, he might spend some days with us before being admitted to bail. We have a few issues to also clarify from him. When Fintiri became the acting governor, Adamawa State’s debts amounted to N8.7bliion but within four months, the profile rose to N13.85bliion”he said . lalasticlala Source: http://timenaija.com/jigawa-state-governors-wife-pictured-with-gov-aminu-tambuwals-second-wife-maryam-mairo/ |
I totally agree with him. Marriage no be small thing |
Popular comic actor, Osita Iheme popularly referred to as PawPaw, has debunked reports that his relationship with his bestfriend and colleague, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly referred to as Aki, has deteriorated. Osita who has seemingly been on his own since his ‘movie twin’ Chinedu, got married, has said the reports are mere speculations as they haven’t been offered scripts that will feature both of them. Speaking with the us, the 33-year-old thespian said: “There is nothing really going on between us. There is no movie to feature both of us so we have been doing our stuff separately. If any producer wants us together in his movie, then we shall do it as usual.” ► lalasticlala On why he has chosen to remain single despite his bestfriend being married for over 6 years, Osita maintain that he is not going to jump into marriage because Chinedua is married. In his own words: “Marriage is not a step to be taken because other people are taking it. Even if the person is your twin, you don’t have to do it just because he did it. It is something you do when you are ready. I’ll take that step when I’m fully ready.” Source: http://360jamng.tk/i-cant-just-jump-into-marriage-because-chinedu-is-married-osita-iheme/

Prof. Akinwande is an associate professor in electrical and computer engineering and the Jack Kilby/Texas Instruments Endowed Faculty Fellow in Computer Engineering in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Earlier in the year, precisely in February Akinwande was named by President Barack Obama, as one of the recipients of the 105 recipients of PECASE awards. He is currently an Associate Professor with the University of Texas at Austin. The current focus of his research explores materials and electronic systems based on 2D atomic layers. He is a co-inventor of a high-frequency chip-to-chip interconnect and an electrically small antenna for bio-electronics. Speaking to the newsmen on Monday, Akinwande said he was awarded by Obama on May 5, 2016, at the White House, where the 105 researchers were hosted. According to the White House, Akinwande was awarded for his "outstanding research accomplishments in nanomaterials, graphene device physics, and opto-electronics, and for dedication to the education of future scientists and engineers." Now in its 20th year, the Presidential Early Career Awards are coordinated through the President’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, which selects winners “for their pursuit of innovative research at the frontiers of science and technology and their commitment to community service as demonstrated through scientific leadership, public education, or community outreach." Prof. Akinwande is known for his groundbreaking research on nanomaterials, sensors, devices and flexible technology. He is considered one of the top researchers in the world in the areas of graphene, silicon electronics and 2-D nanomaterials for use in flexible electronics. In 2015, Akinwande created the first transistor out of silicene, the world’s thinnest silicon material, and he is continuing to advance the capabilities of computer chips and other electronics. Prof. Akinwande has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Inaugural IEEE NANO “Geim and Novoselov Graphene Prize,” an IEEE Early Career Award in Nanotechnology, a National Science Foundation Career Award, an Army Research Office Young Investigator award, and a Young Investigator award from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Announcing the winners earlier in the year, Obama said: “These early-career scientists are leading the way in our efforts to confront and understand challenges from climate change to our health and wellness. “We congratulate these accomplished individuals and encourage them to continue to serve as an example of the incredible promise and ingenuity of the American people.” According to NUJ Europe Chapter, Akinwande, who grew up in Opebi Allen in the Ikeja area of Lagos State, left Nigeria as a teenager in 1994, and his novel idea was aimed at building more energy efficient electronic chips to make mobile phones last a week or two without charging. According to University of Texas at Austin, Deji Akinwande received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2009, where he conducted research on the synthesis, device physics, and circuit applications of carbon nanotubes and graphene. His Master’s research in Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University pioneered the design and development of near-field microwave probe tips for nondestructive imaging and studies of materials. Prof. Akinwande has been honored with the inaugural IEEE Nano Geim and Novoselov Graphene Prize, the NSF CAREER award, the Army and DTRA Young Investigator awards, the 3M Nontenured Faculty Award, and was a past recipient of fellowships from the Ford Foundation, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and Stanford DARE Initiative. He is one of the directors of the NASCENT ERC center at UT Austin. He recently co-authored a textbook on carbon nanotubes and graphene device physics by Cambridge University Press, 2011. His work on flexible graphene systems was selected as among the “best of 2012” by the nanotechweb online technology news portal and has been featured on MIT’s technology review and other technical media outlets. mynd44 seun lalasticlala ishilove roctation Source: http://www.timenaija.com/nigerian-scientist-deji-akinwande-awarde.xhtml |

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has slammed an injunction against the rising musical artiste Douglas Jack-Agu aka "Runtown". The injunction prevents him from performing at any event or any form of recording for the time being unless with the approval of Ericmany Limited. Runtown is signed under the Ericmany Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music. He was sued in the Federal High Court by Ericmany on allegations that he signs up, concludes and attends musical shows without the knowledge of the label. Ericmany Entertainment was said to have invested millions of naira on Runtown. However trouble started when Runtown apparently with the connivance of Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto began to sideline Ericmany and collected money directly for shows without the knowledge of Ericmany. Bug Media is also a party to the court case. In another twist of events, the management of Ericmany has sacked the said Bugwu Aneto as General Manager of the company for infractions which might not be unconnected with his alleged connivance with Runtown to shortchange the Label Ericamany. All inquiries about the artiste and bookings for shows would no longer be through Aneto but through the management of Ericmany. It is not clear how the young artiste is reacting to the court case and injunction. Observers suggest he was misled by Bugwu, the former General Manager of Ericmany to ditch his boss and benefactor Ericmany, and may now that the chips are down find ways to go back and reconcile with the Ericmany. When guys trip for a lady, She thinks she can claim hard to get. I'm not really that type of guy that will really come back to you once you turn me down. If you love me like I do, I think you'll have to respond positively.
