That is what the local farmer cultivate in my area but it only command gud premium during scarcity period atimes they take it back home when there is surplusity people prefer tomato with round shape e.g uc82b and many hybrid tomatoes i would rather advise you to go for cobra26 f1 of technisem because 1.it doesnt turn watery during raining season unlike uc82b 2. It command gud price 3. It has ionger shelflife 4.one stand can bear at least 30fruit CLUE. After transplanting u should spray it with mancozeb/metalazy fungicide+insecticide once in a week and regular weeding.God bless

How long did you lease this farmland?

And do you still intend to plant maize again. Seems the year is almost gone.

I would have suggested you start small like say 2 plots and perfect everything before going big as much as a hectare cos you have so many stuffs draining your finances.

I like your zeal tho.

Ogun state farmland is too cost joor. Just that it's relatively free of herdsmen.

Neymar became the most expensive footballer in history when PSG forked out €222m for his services in 2017 and, as you would expect, his salary matches his price tag.
The Brazil international is earning around £620,000 a week in Paris, which dwarfs his previous salary while at Barcelona and puts him ahead of Messi and Ronaldo.

Ronaldo running from the best and greatest of all time is all i can say. He's never on d same page of leo. Messi d boss ask uzoho if u want
He didn't run away. His salary was poor compared to Messi(600k). Just around 300k euros/week. I think Mbappe earns higher sef.

Now, Juventus offered him around 550k, why wouldn't he go for it?

Story... Why would Messi Leave Barça? He's a king there, he's the highest paid player in the world, he's enjoying his game there, his family are happy there, he's the captain of the team there ...so, why the fvck would he leave undecided
Neymar is the highest paid footballer in Europe, at least. Over 800k euros per week while Messi is around 600.
SportsRe: What Ronaldo’s Move To Juventus Will Do To Barcelona’s Messi – Ciro Ferrara by excanny: 10:15pm On Jul 11, 2018
Keep talking crap. Do you know the buyout clause for Messi? 800 million.

nice one but the problem here is not just about the herdsmen; what about thieves? thieves can easily scale this fence
It might be increased in height. The barbed wire has sharp twist that can tear skin if scaled.

Then again if the area is notorious for theives, a nearby vigilante group with guns might be contracted to ward off thieves, likely towards harvesttime when thefts occur frequently.

If the cost can be managed, I like this solution more than Jatropha trees cos it prevents both cattle and unauthorized persons entering the farmland.

AgricultureRe: ... by excanny: 5:49pm On Jul 11, 2018
I love this. just wire with sticks and few trees to hold it against winds. Looks like it will be low cost.

@OP Where is your farm located?

@funbaby jatropha has been found to be ineffective
AgricultureRe: ... by excanny: 2:23pm On Jul 11, 2018
Just wish there was a thread of the various fencing types and their cost implications.

As an intending farmer, the thought of cattle eating up my months of sweat scares the heck outta me.

We should look into

1. Brick/concrete fencing
2. Jatropha/Moringa fencing
3. Barbed wire fencing
4. Electric fencing
5. Stone/rock fencing

I am just reading somewhere that Jatropha fencing isn't very effective. Seems some cattle bypass it.

The fulanis are really a nuisance to agric lovers. No part of Nigeria is safe from this people. At times I wonder what type of people/government we are to allow this things to go on like this.
Cattle does not come close to jatropha even when small. There is a plant one inventor showed me from India which he says deters all animals but refused to tell me its name due to his own reasons.
A Google photo search should give idea of the name. I will search too later.

But what is the cost of a perimeter planting of Jatropha around one hectare? Both seeds and manual labour on average?
AgricultureRe: ... by excanny: 1:37pm On Jul 11, 2018
EMMAACHILE:
An example of a jatropha fenced farm in the north.
Honestly, I do not seem to buy this idea of jatropha fencing. How do u prevent damage to crops by cattle while the Jatropha grows?

And what is the cost of planting Jatropha round one hectare of farmland?

I've been researching what is currently used in First World countries but no right answers yet.

From my own thinking, getting rocks to surround the farmland looks better but don't know the cost implications.

These Fulani herdsmen are a scourge to agropreneurs.
