I think u are the cause of the problem ,its very easy for you to go online and google search anything u think u are not getting wrong, firstly at 22weeks u are using 2 feeder for 85 birds its very wrong, at least u should be having 10 to 12 feeders likewise the drinker, make that correction and u chat me privately

Well, my advice is that you should sell them off and start again. Because it's very difficult to bring a laying bird back to laying phase... Except you are ready to spend more than envisaged... At week 22, you should have 10% hen day production...

But if you insist you want to bring them back to life production wise:
1, flush the birds via fasting method as prescribed by owoeye and Akande 2012
2, check the birds for presence of lice or any other ectoparasites..
3, I wish you could stay on quality commercial feed because you never can tell the quality of the feed ingredients used in the one you formulated..
4, multivitamin is also inevitable but to be sincere you never can diagnose birds you don't see..

I doubt anyone here has really being raising layers , my dad had a poultry farm for more than 20 years and the average age they start dropping is 24 weeks , if you have chicks that drop earlier then you are lucky to have that set of breed dropping at an earlier age. Do not fret and wait out till they attain 24 weeks ( you should only be worried if it extends to 26 weeks ) , in the mean time you can give them vitamin premix to boost their development

OK ma'am, I find it this very useful and mind calming. I was having the general believe that they start laying by 18-19 weeks.

I don’t think going back to growers mash was the best advice. Growers mash was supposed to give them the hieght and weight they need to start laying eggs and once they’ve attained that height then theirs no need for growers again.

With the way you described their upbringing I hope you’ve not over fed them cos when layers become too heavy they won’t be able to drop eggs cos the fats will be blocking their egg production.

This is the reason why layers are always very lite.

They will start dropping any moment from now. It happens sometimes. Same thing happened to our last laying stocks. Started dropping about 23weeks plus. Might be as a result of the feed (Type, Quality or Quantity) they were fed in the course of the brooding and grooming. Rationing not enough feeds for them in the course of raising them might cause some weeks setback before they start dropping. Some environmental factors might set in as well.

You are very right,because in their 17-18th week, the feed was switched which might have affected them.

Bad layers feed is probably the cause.
You need to start feeding them original layers feed it might take some weeks before they start laying.

Don't mind above posts. Call your supplier ascertain if any of his customers has the same problem as you. It may be breed or hatchery related. Then I hope you never gave them any Sulphur containing drug. What feed are they on now?

At 17 weeks, I switched to a formulation prepared by self called pre layers feed recommended by an expert in layers and they ate that for like 3 weeks before it was advised to swtich back to grower pending when they will start dropping. The vaccines given to them so far its Lasota, gomboro, deworm and multivitamin... I don't know the precise weeks they were administered. They once had Newcastle disease that affected them in their neck and it was controlled. They are on the top feed, and I use them deep litter system.
They are currently feeding on Livestock Feeds. 1st pix is Week 17, 2nd pix is Week 20.

Hello people, Please my 86 layer birds have not start dropping eggs and tomorrow will make it exactly 22 weeks old of there age. I belive that by 18 weeks they should start laying. I groom them right from Day old Upto this stage and I gave them necessary vaccine and not a single one have dropped any egg. I'm beginning to get worried as I believe they are due. Any help will be appreciated so others can learn too.

Exactly my reply to her. You can't have 10yrs experience and be on a law firm salary of 25k.... Never! At 10yrs experience, you have unlocked one of the requirements to be a SAN.

No be my clear eye i take abandon practice, face business fully. Let's just say the money i make in a month, is what i would never have made in 6 months working as a legal associate. Iown a business that can afford to pay two staffs (who are SCCE and ND holders) 20k and 50k respectively. Wheras, lawyers with 10 years experience are earning 25k as salary. If you are passionate about law and can suffer for many years before you hit it big, then law is very lucrative. If you can't endure the suffer head that the early Years entails for many.. Jeje find something else to do. Law doesn't make people rich. People cashing out are old lawyers that have paid their dues or young lawyers from well connected families.

Maritime is also another lucrative aspect of law. But my friend, please tune down your desire to hit it big with few years of practice. Just be passionate and everything will solve it self including the money.

Very lucrative if you know your way just that many lawyers settle for less. For the new wig, it might be rough and discouraging but in all sincerity, it's just a matter of time. Many lawyers are making it big. In my own chambers, We have very good briefs as we handle election petitions and property deals.
To wet your appetite, do you know a single case can fetch you millions and nothing technical, just smartness. Law is a kind of profession that you can leave home penniless and return home that very day with millions. That's a fact.

Many chambers pay very poor some as low as 10k and this is due to the seniors in the profession, They are not helping matters. Don't eye the money for now, focus on acquiring skills then establish your own chamber and/or try to create partnership with your fellow colleagues. I'm still learning as well and that doesn't discourage me.

See the likes of Yusuf Alli, Wole Olanipekun, Ahmed Raji and Co. Some of them may be poorly paid then or not even paid at all, but now they command billions as professional fees... Just try and learn the act of soliciting and how to draft legal documents well.

Election petitions
Tax law
Arbitration
Banking & Corporate finance
Telecommunications

I Will advise you try and also seek specialization in the area that is not saturated such as Cyber crime law, Intellectual property law etc. Try and distinguish yourself...
