Pls how do I go about tailoring my CV too the Canada way.

Tailoring your CV means putting the experiences the what for the rule. Like, you cannot apply to work in a construction company using the CV of a sales Representative.

You can find Canada CV styles and free templates online. Google it, you will see hundreds of free templates. An example is attached here

Thank u very much. What about job agencies? Do they demand for payment. Heard about them here before.

Anyone that ask for payment to give you a job is a scam

student

I came in here in Dec 28, 2023. I landed a job 4 months later (last month ending).

Tips:.

1) Tailor your CV to whatever job you are applying for.

2) Apply to student jobs not professional jobs (sales Representative, construction worker, farmer, customer care service representative etc)

3) Make friends with people that are already there, friends in Church, sch etc. And don't stomach your problem. Voice out, tell someone in Church especially during new timers welcome, that you need a job etc.

4) Pray to God for guidance. (Should actually be the first, tho)

Assurance: The Mins on the 29th changed the initial rule that international students could work for 40 hours per week (full time), to 20 hours per week. Meaning that companies who initially employed an international student to work for 40 hours would now start considering employing 2 students on different shifts to do the job. (It means more part time jobs.

Additionally, arriving Canada during the summer time is of great advantage, a lot of undergrad leave their job to go home for holidays/internship, only few remain on campus for summer classes. You stand a great chance of being employed compared to coming in here during winter.

Welcome to Canada

Lol, when you get to Canada, after a year, you will never dream of coming back home... cheesy...
Don't be deceived by the terrible picture the person you quoted painted... There's Job for everyone, might take time, but you will definitely get a job and be able to afford a rent of your own.... Just as i said, the person you quoted is Just lying terribly...

And Relocation will 100% make your life better....

Some people will go to a new country with empty pocket expecting to see Job the very minute they land in that country, Lol

The discouragement is just too much, I keep asking myself why don't they pack their bags and head back home. 2 weeks in Aba, they will wish the never left Canada.

By the way, are you in Canada?

Yes you have to purchase FX at the parallel market to fund your account which will be used to buy the GIC.
Thank you

You people worry too much, this is the 6th week after submission. You should start worrying and thinking of sending emails after the 7th week.

Please, for this GIC, Scotia Bank is saying that they don't have a student GIC that covers for Nigerians (only country listed in their portal). And CBIC is saying that the transaction must be made in USD, won't that mean that I still need to buy fx at black market in order to carry out the transaction?

It wouldn't work. Even if he transfers all the monies to you, he will still need to show his statement. How will irrc request his statement. He obviously doesn't want you to have idea of his financial activities. Can he do MBS? If that exists for US accounts? If he can. Then he can create a MBS ticket and give that to you. He must definitely submit his statement of acct and supporting docs to show source of his money and that they were genuinely made

Not in all cases, he should prove that he is his brother, get a gift deed or court affidavit concerning the money. I didn't get bank statements from my parents, only letters of Sponsorship and a solid proof that they were my parents (a birth certificate that dates as far back as 2009)

Hello guys, please I need your help oooo. I haven't been able to sleep well. I applied to CNA and Sheridan since June but didn't get admission. I was asked to submit some documents and after that didn't hear anything from them.

I also applied to Conestoga on August 24th but after asked to resubmit some documents, I was on the wait list.

Since January is no longer feasible, please can you guys help out and let me know which schools give admission fast. I don't know if it's my study gap of 8 years that's affecting me though. Please if you also know of any school giving admission for Januray intake please let me know.

Also note that I got admission into a non-DLI school (Oulton College), but I'm not sure if it'll be easy to switch to another school when I get to Canada or get the refund of the $3000 deposit. Please help out with any information you can give out about any of the above. Thank you.

Reach out to those schools via email and inquire about your application, you'll be sure to get a response.

I wouldn't advise anyone to go to a non DLI institution. All way no be way o

I was worried cox i didn't know about it but he ended up sending. I want to ask if it's true guys that CAD can't be changed without exchanging. Now he wants to send again and i told him to try sendwave app, he did and only saw USD and NGN only, does it mean CAD can't be sent to Nigeria? and if it's so, which transfer app has lower exchange rate from CAD to USD? I guess most students are aspiring students aren’t aware of this. Before you make that move . It is not easy transitioning from a study visa to permanent residence in canada . It is very difficult only few percent are able to get this. It was a bit easier in the past now very difficult. Note this and be at peace. I saw a lot of students last week who their PGWP about to expire , some are submitted for EE kept writing ielts despite with their work experience and qualifications here they still couldn’t get Invite. The CEC draw has also been delayed for years now. Canada is only after students money. Over 40% percent earnings now comes from student.

Our case is different grin

Hello house, we want to send a passport to the Canadian High Commission in Abuja. DHL said they do not accept a two-way courier to return my passport. Please how will I get my passport back? Do I need to travel to Abuja to get my passport?

Your soonest response would be appreciated.

Thank you

I used courier service to submit mine. Follow the instructions here. (Submission via courier service)
https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/can/news/passport-collection
Your passport, the biometric stamp, the proof of payment for passport logistics (this is for the embassy to send the passport back to you after processing), a plain sheet containing your name email address and return address of the passport, all of these should be in a brown envelope. Pay DHL for the submission only, the embassy will send your passport to you via courier service.

Hi, thanks for your reply

My sponsor is my dad. I explicitly stated that in my SOP AND LOE.
As regards explanation, i stated it was funds solely set aside for my studies. I also said its funds accumulated over the period the various business has been in existence

I got mine approved, even with bulk finances. They IRCC don't frown at lump sums (bulk finances), they frown at the inability of the applicant to explain how such funds got there.

I explained everything, detail by detail. As for your parent being your sponsor, you have to prove that he is your parent. And this can be done using your birth certificate (tell them that you have attached your birth certificate as evidence). Shalom
