How many people were really infected by the coronavirus in China and how many died?

Chinese opposition newspaper, Epoch Times has queried the official figures of 80,000 plus infections and 3,200 deaths after 21 million cellphone users mysteriously vanished.

This has set tongues wagging and made China’s official coronavirus data doubtful.

China’s cellphone users dropped dramatically in February, from 1.601 billion to 1.58 billion according to data published in on 19 March by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Han Xia, China’s director of Information and Communications Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attributed drop to businesses shutting down in February in compliance with government quarantine policies.

Han said that the drop can also be explained by the shutdown of the telecom stores during the nationwide lockdown, making it impossible for people to open new accounts.

Tang Jingyuan, a US-based China affairs analysts disputed this official explanation.

“It’s impossible for a person to cancel his cellphone account,” he said.

This is because the Chinese regime requires all Chinese to use their cellphones to generate a health code, without which they cannot move around.

According to The Epoch Times, the Chinese government first launched cellphone-based health codes on March 10.

All people in China were required to install a cellphone app and register their personal health information.

“Then the app generated a QR code, which appeared in three colours, to classify the user’s health level. Red meant the person has an infectious disease, yellow meant the person might have one, and green meant the person doesn’t.

The Chinese government had said that the health codes were intended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The Epoch Times’ report raised doubts.

“The big question is whether the dramatic drop in cellphone accounts reflects the account closings of those who have died” due to the coronavirus.

“At present, we don’t know the details of the data. If only 10 percent of the cellphone accounts were closed because the users died because of the… virus, the death toll would be 2 million,” Tang told The Epoch Times.

The Epoch Times contended that the “reported death toll in China doesn’t line up with what can otherwise be determined about the situation there.”

As of Monday, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) data, the death toll in Italy was 10,781 out of 97,689 confirmed cases, and in China it was 3,310 deaths out of total of 82,447 confirmed cases.

That translates to a death rate of 11.03 percent in Italy and 4.01 percent in China, despite the latter having a much larger population which was exposed to the virus.

The Epoch Times also said that “seven funeral homes in the city of Wuhan (the epicenter of the outbreak) were reported to be burning bodies 24 hours a day, seven days a week in late January.”

It claimed Hubei province used 40 mobile cremators, each capable of burning five tons of medical waste and bodies a day, since February 16.

The report added: “Lacking data, the real death toll in China is a mystery.

“The cancellation of 21 million cellphones provides a data point that suggests the real number may be far higher than the official number.”

Coronavirus update: A $20 trillion lawsuit has been filed against Chinese authorities in the US over coronavirus outbreak. American lawyer Larry Klayman and his advocacy group Freedom Watch along with Texas company Buzz Photos have filed the lawsuit against the Chinese government, Chinese army, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Director of Wuhan Institute of Virology Shi Zhengli and Chinese army's Major General Chen Wei.

The plaintiffs have sought $20 trillion, which is a bigger amount than China's GDP, claiming coronavirus is the result of a biological weapon prepared by the Chinese authorities.

They have accused China of aiding and abetting death, provision of material support to terrorists, conspiracy to cause injury and death of US citizens, negligence, wrongful death, and assault and battery.


They allege the virus had released from the Wuhan Virology Institute. The plaintiffs stated that the COVID-19 virus was "designed" by China to kill mass populations. Biological weapons were outlawed in 1925 and hence such a biological weapon is a terrorist-related weapon of mass destruction, the lawsuit mentioned.


The American group cites multiple media reports that said that there was only one microbiology lab in China that handled advanced viruses like the novel coronavirus -- in Wuhan. To cover up, the plaintiffs alleged, China linked statements on coronavirus with national security protocols.


Klayman and the plaintiffs also alleged that Chinese doctors and researchers who spoke out about coronavirus and "raised the alarm to the outside world internationally" have been "silenced". They added that such was the desperation of Major General Chen to save herself from the virus that she injected herself and six members of her team with a potential vaccine that was yet to be tested.

They also alleged that all the defendants were working together to perpetuate "international terrorism".

The lawsuit stated that while coronavirus is slow-acting and slow-spreading to be used against a country's military, "it was designed to be used against the general population of one or more of China's perceived enemy nations, such as the United States."

The American plaintiffs also asked for a jury trial against the Chinese defendants.

More details emerged from the story of the 49-year old man, one Ikechukwu Atansi, who was arrested by the Anambra State Police command for the alleged murder of his two months pregnant wife.

According to findings by IgbereTV, it’s alleged that Ikechukwu murdered his wife and locked himself up with her corpse for three days.

State’s police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident said the Central Police Station Awka received a distress call at about 8:30am on Thursday March 26, about an unusual odour coming out from Atansi’s room.

A decomposing body of a woman, later identified as Mrs Uchechi Atansi aged 31 years, was spotted at the scene when police officers gained access into the apartment.

Also marks of violence was spotted on the body of the victim and blood spilled all over the room was admitted as evidence when detectives analyzed the scene.

Haruna said,

“Surprisingly, however, the deceased husband one Mr Ikechukwu Atansi aged 49 years of Umudum village in Isuanochia was right inside the room with the deceased when the door was opened and could not give a satisfactory account of what actually transpired.”

“Instead, the husband claimed that he was injected with a substance by unknown persons who must have killed his wife.

“The husband was subsequently arrested and he is assisting the Police with useful information to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Upon being interrogated, the suspect who lives in Umueze Village in Amawbia community claimed he slept for three days without knowing what happened to him.

According to him, it was during that time some unknown persons came in and killed his wife. Atansi also gave an excuse of not communicating with anyone at that time because his phone’s battery was dead.

The Commissioner of Police Mr. John B.Abang has ordered for immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal investigation department(CID) Awka for discreet investigation.

An Anambra-based husband has reportedly stabbed his pregnant wife to death just two months after their wedding ceremony.

According to reports, the couple tied the knot on Saturday, January 10 in Anambra. However, their love story quickly turned sour two months into their union.

The deceased identified as Rita Onyebuchi was gruesomely murdered in their apartment. Reasons for the heinous act are yet to be unravelled as the Nigerian Police are investigating the nefarious incident.

On Thursday morning, March 26, the deceased’s brother identified as Onyebuchi John Paul; had stopped by his sister’s house on his way to work and saw a crowd; including police officers, gathered in the compound.

The brother had suspected foul play when his elder sister failed to come to work on Wednesday, a day prior. He dialled her number several times, however, to no avail.

His sister didn’t show up at work and their mother, who is suffering from high blood pressure, was already worried.

He went home, then called the husband but his number was switched off.

He was led into the house where he saw the lifeless body of his sister; lying in a pool of her own blood.

John Paul revealed that his sister was two months pregnant at the time of her death. Thereafter, he took to Facebook to call for justice for his murdered sister and her unborn baby.

He also revealed that the husband was arrested on Thursday, March 26 and held at Central Police Station Awka. On Saturday, March 28, he was transferred to the state CID Amaubia, Anambra.

I understand you pretty well. The post I made earlier was my own opinion considering my purse, budget, future benefitial projects, my family and dependants around me. Considering all these, I see no reason to buy this phone when redmi note 8 pro is available. I would have bought the redmi note 8 pro 6gb/128gb for 84k before now but as an accountant cum economist, I am waiting for the release of redmi note 9 and its pro on the 12/3/2020 and thereby two options will be available to me. Either to buy the note 8 pro at a slashed price after attention has been shifted from note 8 pro to note 9pro or compare their specs and then decide.
