The DSS is currently investigating a case of fake number plates for me. I wanted my Velar papers renewed before I return to Nigeria this December only to discover that the number plates and all the documents were not on the system.

The unstated aim was to drive the competition out of business so an oligopoly could emerge in the sector to the exclusion of the ‘nyamuree upstart’!

It’s similar to what happened after the uncivil war when the indigenisation decree was enacted by the federal military gov’t of the time and which primarily benefited the Yoruba and their northern allies to the exclusion of the Igbo who had emerged from the war financially depleted and not having access to the kind of investment funds the Yoruba and their northern allies had at the time!

Nigeria institutes affirmative action and quota-system to protect the weak or unprepared only when it suits the north, and jettisons it when it’s desired and needed by the Igbo! We saw this play out when independence was delayed because the north ‘wasn’t ready’, and we see it still playing out today in the quota-system and admission cut-off marks policy for states! The reporter that wrote this story is daft equally the PPRO do not know his onions...am not a fan of the guy but when cases like this is reported ..it's the command the guy is reported you go to ask questions..not where the suspect is arrested..the officer Joe VDM said might not be under plateau state command,so it's possible the command will have no knowledge about the case..he should have directed his investigation to the command VDM stays.. Abuja.
