I'm sure that there are 1000's of people like myself, who are horrified at the genocide being committed by NATO in Libya, and I am sure that most people are like myself, and feel really helpless about the situation.

This morning I decided to take a more proactive approach.

I phoned Westminster and asked how I could have David Cameron charged with war crimes and genocide. They told me to contact , my local conservative office and see if they could help!!!!!

I called the foreign Office (020 7219 4272). I was told that all complaints about the actions of NATO in Libya should be made in writing to the Foreign Office. The lady I spoke to was very sympathetic, in fact so sympathetic that she admitted she to was horrified by their actions, still she could not help me, other than the advice to document and write to the FO. I will be doing this later today.

I phoned my MP, who will call me back when he gets into his office.

NATO HQ in the Hague Netherlands, do not have a contact phone number, but I will also be emailing them.

Lastly, I phoned the International Criminal Court (0031 705 158 515). I was told to document the charges against NATO, and email it to them. I have done this, and I would urge everyone to also do it.

If enough of us shout, they have to hear us, please circulate this note, and PLEASE PLEASE, take the 5 mins to copy and paste the email, and send it to the ICC.

This is such a small thing to do, but if thousands of us inundate the ICC with these charges, they will be forced into a corner, and they will have to act. NATO are acting as if they have immunity from all international laws, and the reason they get away with so much, is because we all give off but do nothing! They must be held accountable for their crimes.

NATO members that have been participating in air strikes in Libya include France, Britain, the United States, Canada, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, and Italy.

I would like to make formal charges against the NATO alliance for war crimes committed in Libya.

France, Britain, United States, Canada, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and Italy are joint members of the NATO alliance, and have all broken their UN mandate, and committed a catalog of war crimes in Libya.

Because of their influence over the main stream press in my country (UK), I cannot even give a full and complete list of their crimes.

But the following crimes are documented, and I demand that the ICC take appropriate action, and have the leaders of the NATO alliance charged with these heinous crimes.

13 May 2011: The murder of 11 Muslim Imams in Brega.

30 April 2011: The bombing of the Downs Syndrome School in Tripoli

30 April 2011: The bombing of a Gaddafi residence, murdering Saif Gaddafi, his friend and 3 Gaddafi children.

12 June 2011: The bombing of the University of Tripoli. Death toll not yet established.

22 July 2011: The bombing of the Great Man made Waterway irrigation system, which supplies most Libyans with their drinking water.

23 July 2011: The bombing of the factory which makes the pipes for the water system, and the murder of 6 of its employees.

8th August 2011: The bombing of the Hospital at Zliten. Resulting in the murder of a minimum, of 50 human beings, many of them children. The bombing of hospitals is against all international laws, and a most grievous crime.

9 August 2011: The bombing of the village of Majer, resulting in the murder of 85 civilians. 33 Children, 32 women and 20 men.

The persistent on going bombing of the civilian population in Zliten and Tripoli, death toll not yet established. NATO are committing genocide and I DEMAND that the ICC address this matter with urgency.

David Cameron has admitted that UK special services have assisted the terrorists on the ground, this is against the UN mandate which allowed NATO to intervene in Libya, and is a war crime.

Many of the rebels have been identified as Al Qeada members, NATO working with known terrorists is a war crime, and against all international laws.

It is also my belief that NATO lied about their reasons for invading Libya, I demand that the ICC investigate these lies, and hold the NATO alliance responsible.

I also charge the ICC with working with NATO to spread propaganda and fear among the Libyan people, namely by announcing that the NTC had in their custody Saif al Islam Gaddafi and Muhammad Gaddafi, the night the terrorists (NTC) entered Tripoli. This was lies, and clearly shows collusion between the TNC terrorists and the ICC.

Libya is not Afghanistan or Iraq, and NATO will be held accountable for their crimes in Libya.

As this is a matter of great urgency, I demand that the ICC address these charges immediately, as the genocide is on going.

I am not a lawyer, and I have no legal training, but as a citizen of the UK & EU I demand justice. NATO are acting illegally, UK tax money is financing this travesty, and under EU and international law the ICC must deal with the charges I have documented, with the utmost seriousness.

I am very concerned about the impact that oil industry pollution is having on the human rights of people in the Niger Delta. Traditional livelihoods such as fishing and agriculture have been damaged and the reduced access to safe food and clean water has put thousands of people's health at risk.

I urge you to:

- Enforce existing laws and reform legislation to ensure the oil industry is effectively regulated.

Osama Bin Laden died eight years ago during the battle for Tora Bora in Afghanistan, either from a US bomb or from a serious kidney disease.

Or so the conspiracy theory goes.

The theory that has developed on the web since 9/11 is that US intelligence services are manufacturing the Bin Laden statements to create an evil bogeyman, to justify the so-called war on terror in Afghanistan, Iraq and back at home.

So is the world's most wanted man still alive?

For a decade, Osama bin Laden has managed to evade the world's superpower and the biggest manhunt in history.

Bruce Riedel, who chaired President Barack Obama's Afghanistan/Pakistan policy review, and who has seen the intelligence on Bin Laden, says the trail has not so much gone cold as "frozen over".

"We don't have a clue where he is," he says.

In the absence of any concrete intelligence, Bin Laden has become shrouded in myth and rumour.

'Certainly fake'

Numerous audio and video statements purporting to be from Bin Laden have been released, but their authenticity has been continually questioned.

The veracity of all of the videos is questioned by David Ray Griffin, a former theology professor and member of the 9/11 Truth Movement, which also questions mainstream accounts of the attack on the World Trade Centre.

"None of them can be proven to be authentic," he says. "At least three of them can be shown to be almost certainly fake.

"And if somebody is faking Bin Laden videos, then that leads to the suspicion that all the videos and audio tapes have been faked."

His first example is a video released by the US Department of Defense in December 2001. In it, Bin Laden confesses to 9/11, yet Mr Griffin points out that al-Qaeda has only rarely admitted responsibility for terrorist attacks.

He also maintains that the Bin Laden figure looks very different to previous footage - fatter, with shorter fingers, and that he is even writing with the wrong hand.

Most of Bin Laden's statements are audio only. Only two that show Bin Laden speaking have been issued since 2001.

Griffin claims both are fakes.

He argues that a video released in October 2004 - just days before the presidential election - lacks the religious rhetoric contained in previous statements.

This video, he says, helped George W Bush secure a second term.

But it is the last video, released in September 2007, that has attracted most attention.

'Western conspiracy'

Mr Griffin calls it "Blackbeard: the terrorist tape". Bin Laden's trademark grey beard has been replaced with a neat, jet-black beard, and there are a number of frames in the video, where Bin Laden carries on speaking but the picture of him freezes.

One former CIA agent also questions its authenticity. Robert Baer dismisses the suggestion of a conspiracy by Western intelligence but thinks that al-Qaeda may have faked the video.

"[al-Qaeda has] an interest in manipulating it to look like current tapes," he says. "You can digitally manipulate voice to say anything. You can change months, years, you can tape vowels and syllables and put it into a recording and change it."

Andy Laws, a former military imaging analyst for the RAF, was asked by the BBC to forensically test an undisputed Bin Laden tape from 1998 against the 2001 so-called "confession tape" and the 2007 "blackbeard tape".

He says the fact that Bin Laden appears fatter in the 2001 tape is down to the editing process, when subtitles were added and the image was squashed. His conclusion is that all the videos are of the same person - Bin Laden.

Furthermore, Mr Laws says it is not realistic to think that the US military would fake such tapes.

"Technologically in this day and age, those kinds of things can be done, but not quietly," he says.

Bin Laden has issued around 40 statements since 9/11, and many include clear contemporaneous date references. Two recent statements released last year mentioned US President Barack Obama.

Mike Scheuer, the former CIA officer who set up and ran the agency's Bin Laden unit, thinks Bin Laden is still alive.

'Difficult reality'

"Whenever he speaks on audio tape, he always says something in there that's fairly current. Also, the US National Security Agency (NSA) and UK Government Communication Headquarters (GCHQ) are very good at voice prints," he says.

Mr Scheuer concludes that if it was not Bin Laden's voice, these organisations would make sure governments were well aware that the tapes were fakes.

Another former CIA agent, Art Keller, is more damning:

"I think those conspiracy theories that he is dead are pretty much laughable," he says.

"It's easier to explain things away with a conspiracy than to face up to the difficult reality.

In a search for the roots of the Yoruba religion one can look to the Egyptians. One has to remember that religion and philosophy are very difficult to separate in some of these early civilizations. What can be deduced from archeological and historic records the Yoruba people migrated from east to west. J. Olumide Lucas in his book The Religion of the Yorubas" traces their history as a civilization back to Egypt. "A chain of evidence leads to the conclusion that they must have settled for many years in that part of the continent known as Ancient Egypt." (Cook, 1974, p. 184) In his work Lucas shows that there were similarities in language, religion and customs between these two groups of people.

"Abundant proof of intimate connection between ancient Egyptians and the Yoruba may be produced under this head. Most of the principle gods were well known, at one time, to the Yoruba. Among these gods are Osiris, Isis, Horus, Shu, Sut, Troth, Khepera, Amon, Anu, Khonsu, Khnum, Khopri, Hathor, Sokaris, Ra, Seb, the elemental deities and others. Most of the gods survive in name or in attributes or in both" (Lucas, 1948, p.21).

In comparing the religions, we find that the Yoruba had a moon deity known as Osu (moon) which is the Egyptian lunar god Khonsu. To find the conclusive proof of this similarity one has to look at the etymological development of the Yoruba language. In the Yoruba language Kh does not exist. By following the consonant—vowel rules in Yoruba the vowel is dropped and you are left with the word Osu from Khonsu. If we follow this etymological analysis we find that "Amon exists in Yoruba with the same meaning it has in ancient Egyptian: hidden. The god Amon is one of the first deities known by the Yoruba and the words Mon and Mimon (holy and sacred) are probably derived from the name of that god, according to Lucas. Troth would become To in Yoruba" (Cook, 1974, p. 185).

Following this lead we can see that the development of a monotheistic religion had it roots in the land of Egypt. Although many have claimed that the religion of the Egyptians was polytheistic in fact it was not. Moses even went so far as to declare that Yahweh, like the God of Egypt, was one (Deut. vi.4).
To the Egyptians Path was a spirit self created having no beginning or end. Path was the intelligence of the universe and it was his thoughts that produced the material world and everything in it. Path had power in the words that resided in his mouth. This idea was pointed out by Jablonski where he connected it with the Hebrew idea of how the world was created by their God. The idea of an all powerful god was developed in Egypt and spread with the migration of the Yoruba people. This spiritual conception of god and the universe was begun in the Nile valley 4000 years before the Christian era. Later we see Amen of Thebes be declared as having the same power and nature as Path. ", Lucas recalls that all the ontological notions of the ancient Egyptians, such as the Ka, Akhu, Khu, Sahu, and Ba are found in the Yoruba" (Cook. 1974, p. 186). We see in the Egyptian Ka transformed into the Guarding spirit of the Yoruba.

The final cement for an Egyptian and Yoruba connection is the existence of Yoruba hieroglyphics. "To conclude, let us note that Pedrals mentions, on page 107, the Kuso Hill near Ife and the existence of a Kuso Hill in Nubia, near ancient Meroe,west of the Nile 'in the heart of the land of Kush'" (Cook, 1974, p. 187). From this we can thus consider that a historical connection of facts joins the Egyptian and the Yoruba civilizations together.

The labyrinth of religious development is long and complex from its root beginnings at the dawn of civilization to its numerous forms in the present day. Its importance for the peoples of Africa was to keep them secure through out their long history. Whether as rulers of great civilizations or as slavesin foreign countries the Yoruba maintained their identity and life blood throughout their religious convictions and heritage.

THE YORUBA NUMBER SYSTEM

The Yoruba people currently number over 15 million. According to their legends, they came from the East, to settle in what is now Nigeria, Togo, and the Republic of Benin (Dahomey). Many historians believe that the Yoruba migrated to their present home from Upper Egypt, between 600 and 1000 A.D. They are city-dwellers. Their ancient cities of Ife and Oyo were founded between 800 and 1000 A.D.

The Yoruba have always had a monarch, whom they believe to be descended from their gods. However, the Yoruba government and social structure is not dictatorial. Responsibilities are shared. Although recognition and respect for rank is evident, there is also the possibility of moving up in rank through hard work. In fact, the Yoruba describe their culture as "a river that is never at rest".

The Yoruba were great traders. The city of Oyo, founded by a group of traders, was positioned to control trade routes all the way to the coast. They traded gold, slaves, and cocoa.

In her book, Africa Counts, Claudia Zaslavsky describes the Yoruba number system as a complex system based on 20 (vigesimal) that uses subtraction to express numbers. For example,

35 = (2 x 20) - 5; 47 = (3 x 20) - 10 - 3; 51 = (3 x 20) - 10 + 1;

55 = (3 x 20) - 5; 67 = (4 x 20) - 10 - 3; 73 = (4 x 20) - 10 + 3;

86 = (5 x 20) - 10 - 4; 117 = (6 x 20) - 3

According to the Yoruba system, the numbers from 1 to 10 have unique names. The numbers 11, 12, 13, and 14 are written additively (i.e., 11 = 10 + 1, 12 = 10 + 2, 13 = 10 + 3, 14 = 10 + 4). But the numbers from 15 through 19 are written using subtraction from 20. The numbers 21, 22, 23, and 24 are also written additively. The numbers 25 -29 are written as subtractions from 30. Each number after 30 is written as a multiple of 20 plus or minus tens and units. This pattern is repeated for numbers up to 200. After 200, the system becomes irregular. The number 20 and its multiples are considered special to the Yoruba. Here are some of their Yoruba names.

20 = ogun; 40 = ogun meji; 200 = igba; 400 = irinwo.

Although this number system seems very difficult and abstract to westerners, it is perfectly natural to the Yoruba and is still used today.

YORUBA CURRENCY

Until recently, cowrie shells were the basic unit of currency in Africa. Cowries were either counted in groups of 5 or pierced and threaded in strings of 40. According to the Yoruba system for counting cowries,

40 cowries = 1 string; 2000 cowries = 1 head or 50 strings;

20,000 cowries = 1 bag or 10 heads.

As part of their trading commerce, the Yoruba had to count huge numbers of cowries. When a cowrie counter had to count thousands of shells, he would empty the bag onto the floor and start counting 20s by making 4 groups of 5 shells each. Then the counter would make 5 groups of 20 to make 100. Then 2 groups of 100 would be pushed together to make the important 200. The subtractive principle developed from counting in this manner. The Yoruba also learned to estimate well when counting large quantities of cowrie shells.

MATHEMATICS ACTIVITIES

Put about 200 counters of uniform size all together on a table or the floor. Some examples of counters are M&Ms, pennies, chips, cookies, lima beans, macaroni, or peanuts. Begin separating the counters as the Yoruba would, into groups of 5, 20, and 100. Using your counters, show each of the following amounts: 25, 46, 72. Explain how the Yoruba system of subtraction developed from counting cowries.
Express each of the following numbers according to the Yoruba number system:
a. 37 b. 62 c. 108

The ancient Yoruba were one of the most accommodating and the most adventurous people on earth. They were the explorers who went beyond their surroundings. They were the traders who exchanged goods and services. They were the Aromires (sea friendly admirals) and the Olokos (boat owners) who went on 12 months voyage by Irawo-oko (canoe-star), ships, as elephant warriors and priests. They traveled north and south of the Nile, Mesopotamia, from one coast to another, to Asia, Australia and the Americas. Africans were known in Americas before Columbus: Washita in Mississippi Valley 6000 B.C, the Caribs of the West Indies. We all agreed that mankind started from Africa, see Dr. Spencer Wells research on Y and X chromosomes, but vacillated on the spread of civilization.

The Yoruba left marks by spreading their genes, arts, sciences, culture and religion. They are born out by ancient artistic stone monoliths dated before Christ and later by terracotta, underground drainage system and cabinet form of government. Thanks to archeology, arts, sciences and devoted scholars that are still unraveling these past accomplishments. The history of the Yoruba before present era (BC) and their cousins can be told intelligently even by what we know now.

Iwo Eleru, around 10,000 B.C, has confirmed the Yoruba civilization, religion and spread from Ife to other Yoruba cities in spite of preservation problem in the rain forest. One has to put this excavation in proper perspective:

Some have always wondered why Yoruba wrote on people's arm and body and devised systematic numbers by tens, twenty and hundred but restricted them to a few who could read and write. These marks, tattoos, and symbols are still shared with the Sudanese. Esusu (susu) economics is still shared all over the black world. A book, Edidi, brought back to IFE by Oduduwa on his sojourns on the Nile Valley can still not be interpreted?

Many Yoruba do not know where the name came from. Every Ethnic group in Nigeria (their cousins) has taken that advantage to interpret the name, Yoruba. Even before they came in contact with one another, in the recent past.

Combination of OYO and OBA gives YORUBA: O YO-OBA, O YO-ROBA,
O YO-RUBA

These were words that were taken from different orikis in Yoruba that we hardly connected together. There is no need to look outside the language itself for where Yoruba name came from. "Omo Karo o jire" (Good morning) is understood by most Yoruba, from Lagos to Sierra Leone, Cuba, Brazil, and Americas. Yet, there are some who have lost it and even deny their own identities. Mixed Africans in Europe, Asia, Australia, America and Africa refer to their white blood. Some with skin darker than charcoal, ignore the contradiction of one drop (of black blood) rule.

My own name is so foreign, one has to be familiar with Lagosians to know that I am a Yoruba. One important identity that my family has, as all Yoruba including those in foreign lands, is oriki. It takes me back home to Enu Owa in Isale Eko and Popo Aguda in Lagos. I will leave it as "Omo Aresa." Aresa was a royal house in the old Oyo. Governor Glover built Martins Street to honor my great grandfather, Adebayo Ojo Martins, with his tombstone which was later moved to Ita Akanni. My grandmother was the head of Ojora Adejiyan ruling house before she died in 1979. No mystery in Ife-Oyo-Lagos original connection. So, please understand my biases. Yes, I am the same person who refused to join Yoruba organizations in the seventies, because I am a NIGERIAN! I can be a proud Yoruba and a Nigerian, without any conflict.

ILE IFE has been the ancestral home of Yoruba and most of their history began from there. It is the religious, spiritual and artistic home. There are important people revered by the Yorubas who marked critical landmarks in the history. Some are even delegated as messenger of Olorun (God).

Olorun the only God, has always been the belief of the Yoruba before Christianity and Islam. He created mankind through Orunmila, keeper of Ifa oracle. The point of this paper is not to deal with myth or gospel of the Bible, Koran, Torah or Ifa. The rift between evolution and creation is very strong regarding what to teach in elementary school, not only among parents in the United States but in other countries including Nigeria. This paper will depend on scientific facts and reasonable oral history.

There were generations in between the heroes or icons the Yoruba revered in history. So there were Obatala, Moremi, Oduduwa, Okanbi, Oranmiyan, Sango and others. These generation gaps can be born out by the time difference between Orunmila and Obatala. It has been postulated that there were ninety rulers before Obatala. Assuming that Olorun created Orunmila from the beginning. That is, before or around the Bible time of Adam and Eve. Obatala came after ninety rulers, he must have been around way before Christ.

Most Yoruba will agree that Awolowo was the most recent icon, popularly called the son of Oduduwas, regardless of the generation gap between them. Others may regard Herbert Macauley, Jubril Martins, Adelabu Adegoke, S.L. Akintola, Adekunle Ajasin, H.O Davies etc as the heroes of Awolowo's time. They were all Yoruba of significant achievements.

Obatala's work was never completed, not because he got drunk or big headed as oral history told us. But each of these icons advanced the cause and the civilization of the Yoruba to the next level. Who took the banner from Orunmila before it got to Obatala or whoever takes it from Awolowo from now on will be remembered in history as the son or daughter of Obatala, Moremi, Oduduwa or Awolowo.

Moremi was a very brave woman who saved the Yoruba from midnight marauders. In the midnight hour, the marauders came from bush (igbo) to pester the Yoruba, they fell in love with a beautiful woman who revealed their strategies and saved the Yorubas. Some Igbos figured they were the ones because the spelling matched. Even if they were, they were cousins in the rain forest at an earlier point in time.

However, Oba Mafimisebi, the Olugbo of Ugbo in Ilaje claimed they were the aboriginal Yoruba that was displaced from Ife. He and Oba of Benin agreed up to this point. Olugbo claimed this is why Ugbo and Benin have similar chieftaincy titles: Lema, Ashogbon, Oliha, Ojomo, Yasere among others. They were the Obalufon, Obamakin, Obalufe, Obawinrin, etc whose Yoruba language were originally spoken, including the lingua fraca in Benin palace. Did Ugbo produce the 90 rulers before Obatala?

Some wonder about how many centuries Oduduwa lived. He was mentioned from the time of Obatala to the time of Okanbi, the father or grand father of Oranmiyan. Oduduwa did not exist after Christ. It was his spirit, greatness and stories that lived centuries after.

Oduduwa must have been here before Christ, going by parallel archeology of the Yoruba, Egypt, Greece and Rome with the history in the Bible or the Koran. Unless those before him were many centuries old before he was born! He traveled through the Nile valley, spread Yoruba civilization and religion. Yoruba, named in Arabic writing, were noted for their religion, before their present country brothers became aware of them. See Beginning of Ethnic Formation. During Oduduwa's exploration, he had children Yoruba usually name AdeTokunbo, Omowale, Magbagbeile and others overseas. He was revered because his descendants were kingdom builders and they also unified the Yorubas. Oduduwa proved his Ife royal blood to Agboniregun or Setilu in care of Ifa oracle by displaying his crown, a book in verses and an obelisk. Zo Giwa mentioned these three items in his article in case any dynasty had missed them.

Okanbi, one of Oduduwa's descendants, may be some generations from him. It was Okanbi children or grandchildren that built empires and further united the Yoruba with their neighbors. Oduduwa descendants met civilization in Ife and propagated it but might have started empire and kingdom formation during their sojourns on the Nile River.

Civilization has a very simple meaning but today it has exotic attachment for self gratification. It is the ability of people to live amicably among one another. It is not modernization, invention of weapon of mass destruction or the ability to destroy the world in a second. The Yoruba were farmers who had enough to eat and drink because they lived on fertile soil in the rain forest and might have changed locations to take advantage of fertile environment. This gave the Yoruba the time to think, reflect, engage in Arts, build, organize a civilize community and practice their religion that was known through out Africa in ancient time. Those looking for solutions, predictions, cures, wisdom, artists and rulers went to Ife.

Oranmiyan, one of the grandsons of Okanbi became the founder of Oyo and Benin Empires. He was the one who wanted to go back to the Nile Valley on his return from Benin to avenge those who kicked Oduduwa out. The history of Egypt and Nubia was that of changing rulers. Rulers (Oduduwa) returned home (Ife) whenever another power took over, in Nubia (Sudan). Ti ewure ba je lo, a pada wa sile o. Explorer must return home.
Akhenaton who preached one God in Egypt, like the Yoruba was also sent packing southwards, where he had contacted his Nubian belief. Most of his records were destroyed in Egypt for so daring.

I have to emphasize a point Professors Onigun Otite and Jide Osuntokun made many times. Dynasty and the people may not necessarily be the same. In the case of Benin, there were Ogisos rulers before the Obas came. The Benin Empire and influence came under the Obas. It is this influence that was developed by the descendants of Oba and Ogiso which grew from the 13th century. This remarkable much later achievement, rivaled their Yoruba predecessor, but presented no conflict with Ife. Some have speculated that the transition from Ogiso to Oba was not so peaceful, autochthonous chiefs undermined Eweka's authority. Up till today, the land is leased from the Ogiso descendants during the crowning ceremony of Oba to dampen the rivalry between the two dynasties. This rivalry, is still in the folklore and still generate some hard feelings.

Another landmark figure was Shango, the Alafin of Oyo whose mother was Tapa. He was credited with creating gun powder from kola nuts. After his death, he became a demigod.
He was well known beyond Africa and stories were told about Oba Koso. Pedral quoted Morie's work in Coptic text in 1666 - "Obba Kousso" as he was known, was King Shango and a king of Kush who ruled north and west of Africa but was born in Ife. Morie had no idea where Ife was, but Pedral compared his love life and that of Amon (Kham) and Mount. He also noted the names between Deedan and Dada etc.


IFE has been studied extensively by foreigners and less by Nigerians. This is a culture that has been nearly highjacked and labeled the work of whites or black whites. Strange! Professor Wole Soyinka noted the irony in the words of the German scholar, Leo Frobenious, looking at the Yoruba chiefs at Ile Ife, wondering if they were the descendant of the lost civilization of Atlantis. Sir Flinder Petrie, world renowned archeologist noted the similarity between terracotta head of Ife and that in Memphis. Osun staff is a serpentine staff crowned by bird carried by initiates of Obatala, it is the same medical symbol of Caduceus.

Africans scholars like Professors Peter Ekeh, Cheikh Diop, Frank Snowden, Dr. W.E.D DuBois, Marcus Garvey and John D. Balwin e.t.c worked tirelessly to prove that Egypt was and is in Africa. This may sound strange to a student new in the field, but a paper such as this can not do justice to their work. Anyone interested must pursue their work.


In Egypt we see evidence of earlier civilization of the blacks from Sudan of today (Nubia), Iwo Eleru 10 B.C, Nok culture, Ife stone, terracotta and language known before Christ (B.C), Igbo Ukwu 10th A.D, Sugbon Eredo, old Oyo walls, Benin Iya ditch, the Great Zimbabwe. There were the Wolof, Mendes, Akhan. The Shaka Zulu, and the 16th century Queen Nzinga of Angola who fought against slave trade. An objective scholar would see replica of these cultures reproduced in Egypt, but not those who wanted to claim Egypt for the white race. Indeed, those who painted black civilization white are still working at it vigorously.

African travel by boat or ship has been demonstrated by the sophisticated construction of Dafuna Canoe recently excavated near River Yobe dated 8,000 years old while the oldest boat in Egypt is 5,000 years old.

Nazlet Kater, an African skull, the oldest human found in Luxor in 1980 is about 35,000 years old. There were also other white scholars who had made observation of the Egyptians as blacks. Greek historian Diodorus Siculus of Sicily, 1st century B.C, credited the Ethiopians (blacks) as the first of all men created by the gods and founders of civilization and religion in Egypt imported to Greece. Greek philosopher, Aristotle 384-322 B.C.E described the Ethiopians and the Egyptians as blacks. Greek writer Lucian 125 B.C, described the Egyptians with African features. The father of History, Herodotus 490-425 B.C.E, describe the City of Meroe, religion, food, valuable metals, burial ceremony, elephants, offerings (ebo), and the scarification marks on their forehead . Their first God was Min (Emi Mimo) and that the Greek gods came from Egypt. French writer Constantin-Francois Volney 1757-1820, claimed that Ethiopians were the first to attain civilized way of life and worship.

All burial drawings in Egypt showed African features. It is only Africans who knows what it means to put hands on the head during these burial ceremonies.

Those who have watched the Zar ritual dance conducted by special women among Fellahin in Egypt saw the replica of Yoruba dance during worship or Haitian Voodoo dance. But if you ask them or tell them, some may not realize their identity. The Belady who were the original black settlers of Egypt have been oppressed by different powers but still hang on to the African tradition which is different from that of those who rule them. It took Arab unified soldiers to claim back Iraq from the Africans. They were noted as sharp arrow shooter of the eye and were called upon to defeat opposing army. There are still mistrust and hostility between Arabs and Africans up to the present day. Yet, some of us including me have Arabic names. The hostility and misadventure we still see in Danfur today. What an irony that some of us kill one another in Nigeria over imported religions. The whole world is watching African leaders.

The Fellahins, the real Pharaohs, still have melanin in their skin layers, their genes are related to Africans, still carry the sickle cell trait, practice circumcision and totemism. X-ray on Pharaohs done by James E. Harris of Michigan University proved the same, black. Egyptian Arts, Religion, Oracle and the original language of the Beladi mirror that of Africans in general and Yoruba in particular. The work of Dr. Lucas has been quoted many times.

These similarities between Egypt, Sudan, Yoruba and other African cousins are not coincidence. It establishes the rightful place of African civilization. The Yoruba civilization has been studied extensively because of their ancient way of life which predates the civilization in Egypt. We knew that even Egypt got its civilization from Sudan. An observation that must be noted carefully is that the Ijebu and the Sudanese have the same ethnic face mark. I have already stated that it is the Yoruba who traveled north. These Yoruba scarification marks and cornrows were seen among blacks before Columbus in America

There are some three controversies among the Yoruba that I can not ignore: Ijebu, Ilorin and Benin. Threats, intimidation, trading insults and ultimatums will not help. While history is subject to research, sheer convenience of ethnocentricity will not stand up to scrutiny. Let us appreciate and celebrate what history has given us and think about what we are going to give the next generation.

Some Ijebu claim that they are not Yoruba, they came from Waddai. Others claimed that Awujale, Ilari named Agbejaile or Alajaile himself came from Oyo to make peace between Ife and Owu. There are other speculations I will not even touch. But Ijebu Igbo and Remo assert autonomy from Ijebu Ode. One has to square that with Ijebu-Ife connection. If you walk like a Yoruba, look like a Yoruba, speak like Yoruba, you are a Yoruba! That should end it. But there is validity about Wadai and the Ijebu. The Ijebu said their Oba was some generations senior to Oduduwa because they showed his child his way to the Ocean when he got lost. He wanted ocean water to cure Oduduwa's blindness. If my assumption of Oduduwa before Christ is correct, they might have dealt with Oduduwa descendant not necessarily the son. As for Waddai, most Yoruba explorers and traders pass through Wadai, Danfur, Thebes, and Owodaiye in today Ethiopia on their way to and from the Nile. Not only the Ijebu.

There are other ethnic groups who are also related to the Sudanese. They cooperated and fought one another as the circumstances demanded from Egypt, Sudan to the rain forest.

The similarity between the Ijebu dialect, Itsekiri dialect and the Yoruba palace language of Benin might have to do with Prince Ginuwa who led the Itsekiri away. Apart from history that claimed that Awujale was as royal as Aresa or Onikoyi in Old Oyo, they were of royal blood among Benin-Itsekiri. That may disprove any notion that the Ijebu were only used as sacrifice or slave of other Yorubas. However, at different points in history, positions changed from slave to master, or master to servant.

Ooni of Ife position must be respected. With the reputation of Oranyan, no ancient Yoruba would crown a usurper Oni if he did not deserve to be there. Let us separate personal grudges from the unity of the Yorubas. Though Oba of Lagos made it clear that there were Yoruba chiefs already in Lagos as owners of the soil, before the Benin came, only personal differences made headlines. Ashipa, the first compromised king after Lagos-Benin battle for Lagos had a name that is common in ancient Yoruba royal houses.

The Afonja of Ilorin controversy is more pathetic. Today, we misplaced blame on the Fulani who were invited to help Afonja against Alafin of Oyo. Afonja became ambitious and wanted to undermine the Alafin. The story was that Afonja thought Alafin was going to move on him with an impossible task to accomplish. Afonja then got help to overthrow the Alafin. Afonja found himself at the mercy of the Fulani and lost it all, because Alafin put a curse on him. Where is the blame? The problem today is that the Fulani have rightly assimilated into Ilorin so much that the Yoruba find it difficult to be the Oba of Ilorin. They have lost the supremacy of Oba and there is confusion in a Yoruba land. How do you get someone whose father or mother is a Fulani to deny their birth? Nevertheless, many ethnic groups had assimilated well into Yoruba culture without denying their origin. Melting pot is part of Yoruba culture as long as it is not confrontational. Ibadan is a case in point.

In the case of Benin, all due respect must be accorded the Oba of Benin as one of the descendants of Oduduwa. On his study of Yoruba history, he wrote that it was Orunmila who started the Yoruba kingdoms including Ife and Ado, not Oduduwa. He has a brother in the person of Ewi of Ado Ekiti who is now embarrassed by the controversy. Oba of Benin told us the meaning of Eweka, Owo mi ka, line of descendant. In the same lingua fraca of his palace up to a point in time. Nobody has so far denied that the head of former Obas of Benin were buried in Ife. How can the Oba query the facts of Egharevba's book based on his mother's relation (Edo n'ekue) to Yoruba? It is a popular saying in Edo that only a son of Edo culture can be a ruler of Benin. Oranmiyan was not, so he married into the culture to produce a ruler from that culture.

Ekaladerhan was a man of the culture, Benin historians still have to settle on if he fought to death when Benin soldier went after him in Ughoton the same way they went after Ginuwa in Warri. Each time he got information about Benin, "he was stricken with fear that they were still after his head." By the way, this was centuries after Oduduwa.

In view of these three controversies, their subjects who have unflinching loyalty to Yoruba must be in a difficult position. Embrace novel theories or walk a fine line. It has been said that special ceremony or ritual is needed to reverse the curse of Alafin. The none-Yoruba theory of the Ijebu is hardly taken seriously since majority of them see themselves as nothing else, but will not stand for any insult. More problematic, is that of Oba of Benin. He is highly respected and rightly so. Others with the same theory can be ignored, not him. Because he is also one of our Obas.

One can tell the difference between the comments coming from the Ogiso and that coming from the Oba descendants. None of the Oba line can reject Yoruba connection: "How safe is Ife" is still the greetings. While the Ogiso trumpet the influence and achievement of the Obas, they missed the opportunity to educate us about that of Ogiso. Indeed, Professor Ekeh did more to educate us about the Ogiso, as the one the Urhobo were familiar with before the Oba were ingrained in Benin culture.

Yoruba must stop fighting each other. Those who have made it in other lands – Cuba, Brazil, Benin Republic, Europe, Asia and other America must not severe the bridges they crossed. Oduduwa came back home and proved himself, one day your children will come back home. YORUBA RONU!

The ancient Egyptian religion was practiced throughout East Africa (in Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea as well as Egypt). Some Old Egyptian holidays (Kemetic holidays) in this calendar are based on the ancient Roman calendar. Other Old Egyptian holidays are based on the ancient Egyptian calendar. The ancient Egyptians used 3 calendars: a lunar calendar, a fixed calendar, and a lunisolar calendar. The Old Egyptian New Year is disputed. The Alexandrian calendar (a reform of the ancient Egyptian calendar by Roman Emperor Augustus in 25 BCE that added a 6th leap year day) sets the Old Egyptian New Year at 8/29 (except years encompassing the Gregorian leap year day, when the New Year is on 8/30). The Alexandrian calendar is the same as the Coptic calendar (a Julian-type calendar), but the Alexandrian dates are adjusted to the Gregorian calendar. (The Coptic New Year is on 9/11, except years encompassing the Gregorian leap year day, when the New Year is on 9/12.) The New Year was celebrated in ancient times at the time of the annual life-giving inundation of the Nile River. The annual inundation occurs around 7/19 on the Gregorian calendar. Consequently, the Kemetic calendar sets the Old Egyptian New Year at 7/19. The Copts and the Arabs of Egypt celebrated "The Night of the Drop" on 7/17 into the 19th Century. This first drop presaged the coming inundation. It was believed that the drop was a tear drop that Goddess Isis cried in mourning over the death of God Osiris. Her tears were believed to cause the annual flooding of the Nile. In previous years, ancient Egyptian dates were calculated based on the Alexandrian calendar, with secondary reference to Kemetic calendar dates. Beginning with 2005, ancient Egyptian dates are calculated based on the earlier Kemetic calendar, with secondary reference to Alexandrian calendar dates. Roman calendar dates will not change.

Time to Tell the Truth: Obama Ought to be Impeached

I would agree that we have no elected officials who have the courage to tell the truth, but that shouldn’t mean that we citizens should give up on the truth too, just because it is no longer popular to believe in it in this country. If you want to live in a country that lives by the Constitution and the rule of law, then you have to believe in the truth and support the rule of law. Early on in his administration Obama broke the law when he failed to prosecute his predecessor. It’s called being an Accessory After the Fact. It’s a crime. That was his first crime.

The fact is that Obama has continued to commit many of the crimes that Bush and his administration committed, including murder, torture, renditions, indefinite detentions, launching illegal war and other crimes including various war crimes and other affronts against the Constitution.

He doesn’t deserve our respect, he doesn’t deserve to be in office, he shouldn’t be taken seriously as a public servant. He is unqualified and disqualified. It is too late for Obama.

Even if he were to change his spots and behave like a real President of the United States from this point forward, it wouldn’t change the fact that he is a criminal and ought to be held accountable for his crimes.

If you can’t see your way to agree with me then perhaps that’s why we no longer have a president or congress that believe in the rule of law. There is no lawmaker of which I am aware who publicly agrees with what I just said. To me that means there is no one in public office that deserves to be in public office. If you want to live in a country that believes in the rule of law, where no one is above the law, you will need to come to terms with the truth.

The President of the United States does not have permission to commit murder or any other crime. Period. No one else does either. If the president has no authority to commit murder, he has no right or authority to give anyone else permission to commit murder or to break any other law. We have a criminal government. To the extent that you give them a pass on their criminal behavior, you are an accessory, and the reason, and the cause for the decline of our country. This is how I see it. You have no right to complain about how your elected officials behave if you haven’t the consciousness to know the difference between right and wrong, between legal and illegal, between keeping your word or oath of office and you gave your word the last time you said the pledge of allegiance. This is how it is.

I'm not saying that Obama shouldn't have his day in court and a chance to prove he is innocent of what the charges against him might be. I'm saying that he should.

The moral philosopher Cornel West, if Barack Obama’s ascent to power was a morality play, would be the voice of conscience. Rahm Emanuel, a cynical product of the Chicago political machine, would be Satan. Emanuel in the first scene of the play would dangle power, privilege, fame and money before Obama. West would warn Obama that the quality of a life is defined by its moral commitment, that his legacy will be determined by his willingness to defy the cruel assault by the corporate state and the financial elite against the poor and working men and women, and that justice must never be sacrificed on the altar of power.

Perhaps there was never much of a struggle in Obama’s heart. Perhaps West only provided a moral veneer. Perhaps the dark heart of Emanuel was always the dark heart of Obama. Only Obama knows. But we know how the play ends. West is banished like honest Kent in “King Lear.” Emanuel and immoral mediocrities from Lawrence Summers to Timothy Geithner to Robert Gates—think of Goneril and Regan in the Shakespearean tragedy—take power. We lose. And Obama becomes an obedient servant of the corporate elite in exchange for the hollow trappings of authority.

No one grasps this tragic descent better than West, who did 65 campaign events for Obama, believed in the potential for change and was encouraged by the populist rhetoric of the Obama campaign. He now nurses, like many others who placed their faith in Obama, the anguish of the deceived, manipulated and betrayed. He bitterly describes Obama as “a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats. And now he has become head of the American killing machine and is proud of it.”

“When you look at a society you look at it through the lens of the least of these, the weak and the vulnerable; you are committed to loving them first, not exclusively, but first, and therefore giving them priority,” says West, the Class of 1943 University Professor of African American Studies and Religion at Princeton University. “And even at this moment, when the empire is in deep decline, the culture is in deep decay, the political system is broken, where nearly everyone is up for sale, you say all I have is the subversive memory of those who came before, personal integrity, trying to live a decent life, and a willingness to live and die for the love of folk who are catching hell. This means civil disobedience, going to jail, supporting progressive forums of social unrest if they in fact awaken the conscience, whatever conscience is left, of the nation. And that’s where I find myself now.

“I have to take some responsibility,” he admits of his support for Obama as we sit in his book-lined office. “I could have been reading into it more than was there.

“I was thinking maybe he has at least some progressive populist instincts that could become more manifest after the cautious policies of being a senator and working with [Sen. Joe] Lieberman as his mentor,” he says. “But it became very clear when I looked at the neoliberal economic team. The first announcement of Summers and Geithner I went ballistic. I said, ‘Oh, my God, I have really been misled at a very deep level.’ And the same is true for Dennis Ross and the other neo-imperial elites. I said, ‘I have been thoroughly misled, all this populist language is just a facade. I was under the impression that he might bring in the voices of brother Joseph Stiglitz and brother Paul Krugman. I figured, OK, given the structure of constraints of the capitalist democratic procedure that’s probably the best he could do. But at least he would have some voices concerned about working people, dealing with issues of jobs and downsizing and banks, some semblance of democratic accountability for Wall Street oligarchs and corporate plutocrats who are just running amuck. I was completely wrong.”

West says the betrayal occurred on two levels.

“There is the personal level,” he says. “I used to call my dear brother [Obama] every two weeks. I said a prayer on the phone for him, especially before a debate. And I never got a call back. And when I ran into him in the state Capitol in South Carolina when I was down there campaigning for him he was very kind. The first thing he told me was, ‘Brother West, I feel so bad. I haven’t called you back. You been calling me so much. You been giving me so much love, so much support and what have you.’ And I said, ‘I know you’re busy.’ But then a month and half later I would run into other people on the campaign and he’s calling them all the time. I said, wow, this is kind of strange. He doesn’t have time, even two seconds, to say thank you or I’m glad you’re pulling for me and praying for me, but he’s calling these other people. I said, this is very interesting. And then as it turns out with the inauguration I couldn’t get a ticket with my mother and my brother. I said this is very strange. We drive into the hotel and the guy who picks up my bags from the hotel has a ticket to the inauguration. My mom says, ‘That’s something that this dear brother can get a ticket and you can’t get one, honey, all the work you did for him from Iowa.’ Beginning in Iowa to Ohio. We had to watch the thing in the hotel.

The educated African is the privileged African. For through her education, she has gained knowledge. And knowledge, as we – the educated – know, is power. There she sits, in her position of power, perched on the pedestal of privilege, cushioned by a false sense of pride. From this pedestal she looks upon those who know not as much as she and expects recognition for her intellectual prowess.

The educated African is the crippled visionary. Having descended from his pedestal, he sits on his comfortable couch and sips on his imported beverage. So quick is he to criticise the current state of his country, yet he does little to change the status quo. So perfectly laid out are his plans of what should be; critically analysed from all angles. If only the system had room for minds as great and practical as his. If only it did.

The educated African is the selfish philanthropist. Touched by the turmoil surrounding her, she longs to ‘do something’ to help those in need. But first, her needs must also be met. For how can she help others when she has not yet helped herself? Though her intentions are good, her direction leads to distress. For her gains cause grief amidst those who have none. Eventually, she gives of her share. The people rejoice! As does she at the thought of her social elevation.

The educated African is the diverted pioneer. Overflowing with ideas and vast opportunities to exploit, negotiation is the name of his game. Gaining access and influencing decisions, he uses his vantage point carelessly. Guided by his sense of know-how, at times, he stumbles over his sense of know-when. Maybe next time, he sighs. The people are not yet ready for this opportunity. Tomorrow, however, little will be done differently.

The educated African is the frustrated individual. Overwhelmed by the responsibility bestowed upon her, she withdraws to her comfort zone, writing thoughts that run through her mind. Thoughts of where we have gone wrong. Thoughts of why we do not learn. Thought after thought, she plays with words, and wishes in vain, that these words could only reverse the damage done.

No longer is it enough to simply remember what the true role of the educated African ought to be. For in remembering, we – the Africans – cover but one mile in the journey towards freeing ourselves from the mis-education trap; from the bondage of pride. United we have stood – alone. Divided we shall grow apart. Perhaps the time has come, to re-educate ourselves; to re-focus our energy on righting our wrongs. Perhaps the time has come, to face our complexities, and, despite these, regard each other as one, regardless of one’s education.

Perhaps, no – indeed, the time has come, to redefine the educated African.

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) yesterday began its battle to upturn President Goodluck Jonathan’s victory at the April 16 presidential election. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s party filed a petition before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, just ahead of today’s deadline for submission of petitions. The CPC is asking for the nullification of results in 20 states where it said the election was rigged.
The states where the CPC is alleging substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act and other irregularities are: Lagos, Bayelsa, Kaduna, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Kwara, Adamawa, Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Enugu and Cross River.
Others are: Rivers, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo Anambra, Benue and Plateau states as well as the FCT.
In the petition anchored on two grounds and filed by Mr. Ebun Shofunde (SAN), Abubakar Malami (SAN) and Alasa Ismail, the CPC is asking the tribunal to set aside the presidential election and organise a fresh election between the CPC and the PDP.
The CPC also urges the tribunal to hold that Jonathan and his running mate, Namadi Sambo, were not duly elected by majority of lawful votes cast at the election.
The CPC accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of frustrating its efforts to file the petition. It claimed that all entreaties to get sensitive materials to use in arguing its case proved abortive.
In an exparte application filed last Friday, the CPC asked the tribunal to compel INEC to release certain sensitive materials used during the polls to it.
CPC National Chairman Prince Tony Momoh said yesterday in a statement that the party decided to go to the tribunal to point out that lapses observed before and during the elections "were not adequately addressed, if at all".

To win at the first round, a candidate needs at least 25% of the vote in two-thirds of Nigeria's 36 states. According to regional results, Mr Jonathan has passed that threshold in at least 24 states. He polled 20.3m votes to the 10.4m cast for his nearest rival, General Muhammadu Buhari. In Akwa Ibom state, he was credited with winning 95% percent and in Anambra it was 99%. In his home state, Bayelsa, he took 99.63%. "Figures of 95% and above for one party suggest that these are fabricated figures and, personally, they worry me because they pose serious questions on the credibility of the election," Jibrin Ibrahim of the Centre for Democracy and Development told AFP news agency.”

Several sources said Anambra had been turned into a free rigging field for the Jonathan ticket. “The police and army have cordoned off polling booths all over Anaocha local government area, and PDP members are thumb printing ballots which INEC officials then sign and drop in as votes,” said a source. He added that agents representing the other parties had been offered bribes that are several times higher than their payments – and most of them were collaborating in the rigging. “There’s no more hope for this country,” said the source.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jonathan, who authorized the widespread rigging, was hypocritically proclaiming that today’s voting was free and free, adding that he had not interfered with officials of INEC.

3. In the PM news edition of April 16th, 2011:

“Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers state, South South Nigeria, has expressed disappointment at the low turnout of voters at his polling unit, which is Ward 8, Unit 14 at Utima, Ikwerre Local Government area, shortly after casting his vote, along with his wife, Judith. The governor who cast his vote at about 12.35pm also lauded the peaceful disposition of Rivers people and the diligence of the security personnel who had little job to do today” …This message came from the Chief Executive of a State where the percentage of voter turnout according to the final result was in excess of 76%!

We received calls and text messages that many cars were seen driving out of the house of the FCT minister in 13 Gingiri Street, Garki Area 2 with stuffed ballot boxes…, Some of the text messages were forwarded to INEC’s hotline during the election on Saturday, the 16th of April 2011 – Evidence available on the handsets.
RIVERS
‘I was the first voter to arrive at polling unit and stayed until the ballots
were counted. Based on my observation there was a poor turn-out of voters and I
will estimate total number of voters at 250 - 300 maximum out of about 600 registered voters in the polling unit. I was accredited in 10
minutes (at 9:50am) and I voted in less than 5 minutes (at 2:00pm). This is to let you know how scanty the polling unit was’…This message came from the same state where the Governor had also lamented about low turnout in 3 above and where the percentage of voter turnout according to the final result was in excess of 76% as opposed to about 45% in this polling unit.
CROSS RIVER
‘Blue ink was provided for thumb print in our polling unit. However, when it came to counting, a majority of the PDP ballot papers had black ink as thumb-print.
The entire CPC ballot papers had thumb prints with blue ink as provided. The PO could not provide any explanation’.
ENUGU
‘Our conclusion on what transpired in Enugu State (and indeed the South East Zone) is allocation of votes to the PDP with 802,144 (98.5%) to Goodluck Jonathan and 3,753 (0.5%) to Muhammadu Buhari. Allocating 3,753 votes to CPC is not only ridiculous but goes to suggest that even we members of the party and our families did not vote in that election as we have over 50,000 members and supporters’.

‘There were no result forms (Form EC 8a) in the polling unit PU: 10/22/08/002 and other polling units in the entire Uvwie LGA in Delta state. Corp members reported they were told to go back to the Secretariat to write the result.
Result in PU: 10/22/08/010 in Effurun-warri and Uwvie areas was written on a plain sheet. CPC agents protested at the Secretariat but they were ignored by INEC officials’.
5. On the 13th of April 2011, we were tipped off by good Samaritans about buses conveying millions of ballot papers for the Presidential elections from a private printing press - Tulip Press owned by a known PDP stalwart and a former gubernatorial candidate on PDP platform – Mallam Bello Gwandu for distribution to certain states. We promptly alerted the police and two suspects – Messrs Habila Stephen and Akinlolu Akinto were arrested and taken to Utako Police Station for questioning. The incident can be verified from the DPO of the station. Even though INEC subsequently disclosed that the printers were formally engaged by the Commission and the suspects were therefore released, we nonetheless remain concerned as the Chairman of INEC had publicly announced on the 2nd of April 2011 that the elections were being postponed on account of late arrival of election materials from overseas printers and there was clearly no indication then that local printers were engaged in the process. Could these ballot papers and or others printed locally have been the ones used to inflate the votes in favour of PDP?

6. On the 16th of April 2011, when voting for the presidential election was being conducted, we received yet again another tip off, this time from one of our monitoring agents, about a man that approached a polling unit in Wuse Zone 3 whilst carrying a bag suspected to contain election materials. The police officers on duty were alerted and the man was taken to the nearby police station. When questioned, he claimed to be a staff of INEC on duty and telephoned his supervisor for identification as he had no ID Card on him. The supervisor arrived and identified the suspect as an ad-hoc staff and himself as Richard Awolola – the Electoral Officer for AMAC with an INEC ID Card as a staff based in Nasarawa but on temporary assignment in Abuja. The suspect was then asked to empty the contents of his bag and it was found to contain a blank booklet of Form EC8B Presidential Election Collation at Ward level result sheets and another EC8B for the 9th of April National Assembly election; a copy of which is shown below as Exhibit 1.

Some of the pertinent questions from this incident are (1) How come under ‘Votes Received by Parties’ it is only in column 16 for PDP and in rows 11 to 19 that the figures were altered to inflate the number of votes? (2) How many other altered EC8B’s have been integrated into the final result? (3) Why was an ad-hoc staff without any ID card whatsoever in possession of a whole booklet of blank EC8B Presidential election result sheets; more so that Section 45(2) of the 2010 Electoral Act (as amended) stipulates that ‘the Polling Agents shall be present at the distribution of the election materials from the office to the polling booth’? (4) How many other blank result sheets were in circulation on that day and how many have been incorporated into the final result?

Incontrovertible facts from this Analysis:
1. The national average turnout rate is about 52% and about 46% when the substantially above average turnout rate in the South South and South East zones is excluded. Why?
2. The average turnout rate in the South South and South East zones (without Ebonyi and Edo states) at 78% is 50% above the national average of about 52%. How come?
3. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP got over 85% share of the valid votes cast in all the 11 states in the South South and South East zones, with 10 of the said states at 95% and above including 4 of the states at 99% and 1 at near perfect share of 99.6% in his home state. Thus, all the 11 states in the 2 zones had a red flag for being above the national average turnout rate and/or were above 85% threshold. Do ‘these figures of 95% and above for one party suggest that these are fabricated figures’ as aptly stated in 1 above by the BBC World News reporter, more so that 10 states are affected rather than the 3 states he identified?
4. General Buhari of the CPC (and indeed all other opposition candidates) had no single state with a combination of average turnout rate above the national average and share of valid votes in excess of 85%. Why only Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in NOT one, two or three but nine states?
5. The inevitable reasonable conclusion from the incontrovertible facts in 1 to 4 above is that no credible elections took place in the South South and South East zones and that those returns were basically concocted through fraudulent thumb printing and stuffing of ballot papers and/or that the results were deliberately falsified in favour of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP.

8. In spite of the case of res ipsa loquitur (a thing that speaks for itself) adduced in Table 1 above, additional and specific evidence of massive rigging is to be found in Table 2 below which is a summary of a sample of ward level collation results in Rivers State. The average turnout rate in the sample is 49%; which begs the question as to how the turnout in the declared result for the state metamorphosed into well over 76%?

9. Further to the specific evidence in support of lower voter turnout rate in Rivers State as shown in 8 above, additional concrete evidence in support of manipulated figures in Form EC8B is to be found in Exhibit 3 below in respect of the result for Cross River State. The fuzzy arithmetic contained therein is mind boggling, as the total number of registered voters in the ward at 6,031 transformed into 377,517 total valid votes. This could well have been an innocent error; but yet again, the ultimate beneficiary is Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP as he was awarded about 710,000 (98%) votes out of the total valid votes of 725,884. Does this make for a credible election?
EXHIBIT 3:

10. It is a trite principle that the law does not engage in trivial matters. Such that if the effect of the fabricated figures that had been proved beyond reasonable doubt in the South East and South South would not without more materially affect the final result, it would have been ignored and the declaration of Dr. Jonathan Goodluck as the winner would receive judicial affirmation. This is what makes it imperative to embark on a sensitivity analysis as contained in Table 3 below.

Thus, when the fabricated figures are deducted from the total result, General Muhammadu Buhari has the majority of votes; thereby precluding Dr. Goodluck Jonathan from being declared as the winner of the election. This fundamental principle was founded on the authority of the case of Omoboriowo v Ajasin (1984) SCNLR 1 at pages 108, 152-153 would drive home a nail struck clarification wherein Eso JSC said:- “Finally, once the figures are false, whether the falsification was done by the 2nd appellant or not, the fact remains that 1st appellant cannot and should not be elected on figures other than the majority of the votes cast at the election”; which ratio was applied by the Court of Appeal in the recent cases of Fayemi v Oni – CA/IL/EPT/GOV/1/10 and Aregbesola v Oyinlola – Appeal No: CA/1/EPT/GOV/02/2010.

CONCLUSION AND PRAYERS:
In our letter of objection dated the 18th of April, we had appealed that ‘you demand the ballot papers and result sheets as collated from these zones (South East and South South) for scrutiny in the interest of peace, prosperity, free, fair and credible election’ and ‘order for the cancellation of the results handed down from the South South and South East in the event the investigation revealed the alleged breaches’. The appeal was regarded as being impractical and accordingly ignored. The Commission then swiftly proceeded to declare seriously flawed result which can now be seen in the light of this submission to be nothing but a charade. In polling units where elections were held, they were seemingly free, fair and credible. But behind the scene, there were loads of massive fraudulent thumb printing and blatant manipulation of figures at the ward and local government collation centers.
The façade at the polling units must be unmasked for this election to be seen as the sham that it truly was. The integrity of elections is crucial for the survival of our nascent democracy as no legitimate government can be founded on a stolen mandate. We consider the subversion of the popular will to be the worst form of corruption that can befall any nation. It is on the strength of the struggle to save the heart and soul of our fatherland that we submit the following prayers for your urgent attention:
1. Please as a matter of utmost urgency take custody of all the election materials and make the ballot papers in support of the votes cast in the South South and the South East zones available for a representative sample of the thumb prints to be matched with the biometric based voters register by forensic experts. The same examination can be conducted in the North West and North East zones if only for the sake of good order. A sample of the result sheets at the ward and local government collation centers should also be examined by independent third party accountants;
2. If the ballot papers and or figures were found to have been substantially manipulated, the Commission should be bold enough to reverse its position on the declared result if only in the interest of peace and greater public good; and
3. Prosecute to the full extent of the law all those found to have played any significant role in once again bringing the credibility of the Commission into disrepute.

A really quick question: I met this girl and I wussed the whole thing up. In just two short months, she's back with her old "bad boy" boyfriend, who she said paid her no attention. I smothered her with attention and was nice. So why can't I get her back?

you're telling the story of my life. More specifically, the story of the "old" me, before I learned everything that I know, and now teach to other guys.

You see, for most of my life, I was the nicest of the nice guys. But after continuing along the same path -- and getting the same lousy results with women -- I realized something that literally changed everything for me. I realized that it's really the "bad boys" who do, in fact, attract the hot women.

Why?

It's basically because selfish, "jerk" behavior, as unhealthy as this might sound, often triggers the precise emotions in a woman necessary to make her feel irresistible attraction. Sarcasm, unpredictability, ball busting, playing hard to get, and all kinds of other "illogical" things, they succeed every time where "being nice" fails.

So, back to the "old" me.

I had a dilemma: I loved the idea of being successful with women, but I hated the idea of mistreating people, being mean to them, lying and misleading, and so on.

I mean, deep down, I want to be a good guy. So I decided that there must be a way to make this work -- to attract women like a "bad boy" without being an abusive, lying jerk. And, after spending years learning from the naturals -- men whose success with women seems absolutely effortless -- the good news hit me.

There is a way to make this work, but it would require that I set aside my current ideas just long enough to entertain some new ones. When I learned to do this (as you must), I discovered I really could have the best of both worlds: I could be nice to women on my own terms, and also give them what they really want and what really attracts them.

My realization was that women don't choose who they feel attracted to. It's something that just happens -- an emotional response to certain things men say and do.

In other words, women don't choose to feel the emotion called "attraction" for jerks any more than you choose to feel the emotion called attraction for beautiful women. Sure, some women do feel attraction for extremely handsome men, but it's been proven that they feel a much stronger attraction to specific personality traits and behaviors than they do for physical looks.

So what is it about the "bad boy" that creates this powerful, uncontrollable attraction in women?

Let me answer first by telling you what it’s not.

It's not that women are attracted to the abusive, mean, negative part of the "bad boy” personality. I think that these jerks just happen to also possess several associated, attractive qualities that are so powerful they literally make women blind to the abuse. Women rationalize away and excuse the abusive behavior because they want these other qualities so badly: unpredictability, uncontrollability, challenging dominance.

When presented correctly, they trigger the natural attraction mechanism inside of women. And "bad boys" have taken these natural qualities that are so attractive to women and made an art out of them.

Listen, so many guys tell themselves that, if women aren't attracted to Wussies, then why do they accept invitations to dinner, gifts, flowers, and attention from wussy guys, only to reject them later on?

Well, let's think about this:

1- Free food is free food, and free gifts are free gifts. I mean, when the price is right, it's right, right?

2- Women say to themselves: "I really should date a nice guy instead of all these sexy jerks that I've been seeing. I'll let Mr. Wussy Man take me out to dinner a few times and maybe I can learn to like him."

3- If a woman doesn't have anything going on at all, dinner with a Wussy (and a constant stream of compliments and attention) is better than nothing.

4- Men are notorious for showing their non-Wuss side early on, but then somehow turning into a raging Wuss Boy as the relationship progresses.

So, Chris, what can you do to keep your inner Wuss from peeking through?

I often recommend coming at this like a substance abuse problem. The first step is admitting that you've been acting like a Wuss, accepting yourself as you are and making a commitment to yourself to improve from here on out.

You need to learn how to evict your inner Wuss and get down to the business of learning how to create attraction in a woman. It's not magic, and it's not voodoo. It doesn’t require looks or money. And I've proven time and again that almost any man can learn how to do it.

So run, don't walk, to educate yourself about the basics of creating attraction (either with my teaching or elsewhere) and you'll never have to worry about your inner Wuss peeking through again. Period.

Apart from these two restrictions, the Shari‘ah (Law of God) has placed no restriction on marriage contracts of the believers.

Why would Qur’an ask a lady to renounce her religion for some mortal man? Religion is something very personal in nature. It is a deep relationship — a connection more strong than the one which is established between a man and his wife. It is about God and His servants; it is about God and you. There is no man between you and Him. You accept Him on a very personal basis; you surrender before Him of your own accord. Did you know that Islam gives so much respect to Christians because of the fact that they believe in one God? The bitterest thing is however that they have devised ‘Three’ for the One that is alone and devoid of any partner whosoever. He is One and is the Creator and Master of all humans. Islam calls all the Christians to accept the fact that was also propagated by Jesus (sws) as the Lord is One. What I wish to say is that religion is something that should be chosen with a serious mind and after appreciating the value of the specific teachings that this religion promotes. Islam does not force people to convert. It is the truth that every willing person is welcome to embrace.

For a Muslim male to marry a female from the people of the book (christian) is permissible

The Quran in Sura 5:5 says:

. . . Likewise you are permitted to marry chaste believing women [Muslims] or chaste women among the people who were given the Scripture [Jews and Christians] . . . . (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 427)

This verse, as noted, says that Islam permits Muslim men to marry non-Muslim women who are Christians and Jews, but a Jewish or Christian man may not marry a Muslim woman.

It's permissible but it's deemed as makruh tahriman outside Dar al-Islam; i.e. the marriage woudl be sinful, but would still be valid.
