What exactly do you mean by you don't see how agricultural engineering will help your life?
You're already in 4th yr,by now you should've known that in naija it doesn't matter what you study.

Bro,agricultural engineering will 'help your life' in Nigeria even more than the EE you want to study.

I'd advice you continue with the course because it doesn't matter what you study in sch these days especially in Nigeria.

Goodluck to you.

thanks

Education / Please Advice. In 400l And Considering To Write Jamb by explorer250(m): 4:46pm On Dec 22, 2017
yeah. I got admitted into the department of agricultural engineering in futo in 2014 and I will be in 400 level by January next year but the problem is that I can't continue because I never loved the department from the start.

i am having nightmares and feel very sad anytime I remember that I will be graduating as an agricultural engineer but I wanted to study electrical and electronics engineering.

initially I thought that I could manage the course and maybe change department in my 200l but things didn't go as planned. I have seen that the course I am doing is intolerable to my nature and at this point I can't continue with it.

I am seriously considering to write jamb next year and study Mechatronics but I know that my parents will be mad at me and disappointed. but this is my future and I don't see how Beng in agricultural engineering will help my life.

So please do you think that it is a good idea for me to start from the beginning?

Politics / Re: Attack On Igbos In Bayelsa Is Highly Disgraceful And Condemnable by explorer250(m): 1:45pm On May 12, 2017
BabaRamota1980:

It is a common trend but a misplaced and ineffective empathy.

During military era if the Head of State loses a member of family every governor pays visit, every governor's wife visits the wife of Head of State. That dumb practice continues today even under civilian rule.

Your empathy should stop at the family and the neighbors, no more.

Now to the issue of attack on Igbos, how long since Igbos been living in Bayelsa and how many times in that period have such retaliatory attack occur?

Underneath this episode of attack will be bottled up anger likely from multitudinal past acts of atrocities and crimes that Bayelsans ignored. This Faith issue triggered the pressure of anger held in so long.

People dont just attack spontaneously as we see here, the conscience of humanity does not operate like that. I hate to digress but take Ife example, the insults from Hausa had been ignored for long that they got complacent into thinking they are untouchable. When Yoruba touched upon them ONCE there was outcry.

Igbo has a trademark that is found every where they exist. Few years ago in Gabon the people rose in anger against Nigerians because their children would miss and never found and there is always a Nigerian implicated. Gabonese know how to differentiate Igbo ethnics from rest. They targeted them with attacks.

So the ones referred as "innocent" Igbos owe it a duty to preserve their innocence and survivability by self-policing and expelling from their midst early on the few bad eggs who if not cut off will, with time, earn them bad image, bring disrepute, attract hostility from their hosts and invite attack and death. After Yoruba demanded Fulani self-police its herdsmen rate of fulani atrocities in Yorubaland diminished significantly and then Fayose introduced patrol team on top of that we have not recorded another fatal attack. Self-policing works! Igbos should adopt it and weed out bad elements.

the way you guys perpetrate your mischievous behaviours and coat it with sugar is astonishing. your people have no moral right to accuse anybody of ritual killing in this country because 49 out of every 50 reported cases of ritual killing is carried out by your Yoruba people.

Politics / Re: 1899 Letter Of Mrs.t.j.dennis, Missionary In Igboland Reveals Facts About Ndigbo by explorer250(m): 10:03am On Mar 14, 2017
the significance of the writeup was not brought here but I have copied it from the link

With the narration, our minds are awakened to the basic realities of the igbo society. One, she draws our attention to the fact that Ndigbo, prior to the emergence of the state of Nigeria, were largely organised and independent with the best suitable system of administering their society, she did well to refer to the igbo society as a country. Igbo society was democratically communal.
Second, Ndigbo as a people accepted education with open hands. They only resisted the forceful annexation of the igboland by the British colonial masters. This does show that as a people, Ndigbo are naturally inclined to Liberation, independence and freedom. No wonder whatsoever, should be expressed in the agitation of an Igbo person when he feels intimidated or his rights are denied. It is a natural tendency that Ndigbo clamour for their rights.
Three, Ndigbo are real custodians of culture. They love their culture and traditions. On the other hand, they love education which of a truth, can liberate the mind from the shackles of ignorance. And in some way, education which is a western tool, is readily in contention with traditional ideals which is a tool and the essence of existence of the igbo people. Therefore, it is safe to assert that most educated persons of the igbo society are partially mindless about cultural ideals yet, some have manged to reconcile the two indispensable realities and instruments of life.
As we lend our thought to the epistle, let us appreciate the naked truth that Ndigbo are just a unique people with unmatched ability for survival, thansk to the revelation of Mrs. T.J.Dennis.

The OP was correct in observing that Ibos arn't united. If I were him I would not change my position nor apologize.

Anambra people hate that Imo or Aba should have a port and transform into the commercial nerve center for Biafra, their sense of entitlement is calling for Onitsha port to be the flag bearer.

I know you lack capacity for visioning but let me use my Afonja and amala and ewedu brain to tease you small and bring out recognition of imminent dangers. grin

The gully erosion you suffer from is pervasive in all your states but most devastating in Anambra. This is so because you are developing on lands that is suspended on a very high water table and your soil type is also not in your favor. Commercial oil activities in the delta is creating increase in sedimentation density and forcing subterranean soil structure to collapse at fault points. This is why roads that carry heavy traffic volume and load are easily the ones to sink. Do you get it so far?

All your states are in forest belt, giving you high volume of rainfall. You suffer from poor urban planning, surface water have poor drainage, resulting in flood. If you dredge Onitsha and create depth you will equally increase sedimentation density and further weaken the sub soil. Is this what you want?

Yoruba dont want this for you. Clearly we are tired of receiving any more refugees escaping calamity in East. You will anger us if you dredge that river. You do not want to make us upset.

Stop any further discussion about dredging Onitsha port, its a calamity! Do sedimentation study ad subsoil study and find which of your states on a river mouth is best positioned for a commercial port without any of the attendant problems of grounds caving in underneath you.

OP is not Ibo but look at how he pulled out a very critical point with plenty values and is helping to open your eyes to what you were blind to. Instead of bringing a young Ibo virgin to gift him you are beating him up. You are your own enemy.

Left to me I would, and you all should think critically about this...the port should be located in Imo State. I cant tell you why..thats your gaddem job to find out.

Yeye!

C entury Power Limited, a subsidiary of the Obijackson Group, owners of Nestoil Limited, plans to start the construction of a-2000megawatts (Mw) thermal power plant in Anambra State, it was learnt.

From every indication, Obijackson's power station will start distributing power before Nnaji's. Nnaji has been shifting d timeline to start distributing power from his plant since 2014 that it now looks like a periodic ritual to give us dates for their imaginary start-up. The problem with Geometric in Aba is just greed. And this greed did not come from Emeka Offor, who is currently demanding a 2 billion naira pay off from Nnaji to settle their rift over d Aba business unit. Rather, it was Nnaji who displayed enormous greed when, as minister of power, he lumped d Aba business unit, which had been previously carved out for him, into d EEDC that was slated for privatisation with d belief that he would use his position as minister to influence the sale of d EEDC asset to a firm that his coy was part of. Well, it turned out that Offor had more clout in Aso rock than he did.

what is wrong with you? did obi Jackson tell you he is in competition with nnaji?
why are you anti Igbo unity?
