Ugonnax: I love this guy Ifeanyi Ubah! My fear is the enemies of Igbos will not let this project happen...mark my words! Don't be surprised if EFCC comes after him tomorrow with flimsy allegation; seize all of his properties...to make sure that this project doesn't happen. They are always planning...day and night, to make sure that projects like these don't see the light of the day in SE. name God go blind them. what I like is that he is using his own construction company to minimize cost. if a state or fed govt awarded a contract like this,it would gulp about 600bn but for him it might gulp 340bn |

FOR most of us, the strident call for heavy investments in the southeast ring hallow and has fallen on the deaf ears. Most times the call seems very unexciting to some people, enigmatic, and sometimes utterly discouraging to continuously drumming to ears of the wealthy Nigerians to begin to site factories and other businesses in the southeast zone. But to Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, whose personal fortune in Capital Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited and other multiple companies, is in billions of dollars, as well as impressive dossier in leadership, investment in big concepts—big ideas, is vivacious and a veritable instrument for achieving common good. Ubah, who is aware of the details of his big ideas, has hands-on management style with every operation of his numerous companies. He breathes the art and science of business so well that he could narrate the details of his current auspicious project. So, business investment to him is less obstreperous, but pragmatically palliatives that allow for the emergence of superior ideas in the form of tangible business entities. Consequently, Ubah is never content with the present—he’s always looking for ways to correct the anomalies in the lives of people who need some helping hands. As a result, Ifeanyi Ubah is continuously embarking on new ideas to uplift humanity in concrete ways. Thus, while on a brief visit to Nigeria, I took time out of my busy schedule to tour one of his new concepts, the massive Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village in Nnewi/Ozubulu under construction. I characterize it as massive because of the scope and financial resources that have already been invested in the project. Also, the additional resources to be expended before the completion of the project may better be imagined than estimated. The evidence of capital outlay for the project could be visible to those who have the opportunity to be on the site. When completed, the Games Village will house Olympic standard swimming pools, the Olympic standard track and field, indoor Hall, Five-Star Hotel, Women and Youth Development Centre, Sports Academy, Hospital, Training Pitch, Athletes Accommodation, Industrial Technology Hub, and FC Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, the home turf for the football club. The stadium will have two sections with one containing natural grass and the other containing synthetic grass of international standard. With acres of land for expansion, the Village could accommodate an amusement park to maximize the tourism potential. Ifeanyi Ubah, a soccer enthusiast has the wherewithal to come up with the concept and execute it flawlessly to the completion. It is pertinent to note that the facility is being built by his own construction company. The most important thing about this project is the direct and indirect jobs it is currently providing. While on site, there were many construction workers toiling for income for their families. People in various segments of the construction industry were working tirelessly to complete the project on schedule. The construction of the project currently provides additional income and related jobs to the suppliers of building materials in the surrounding areas. I noticed that Ibeto Cement is exclusively being used for the project. Mom & pop businesses sprang up to cater for the construction workers who must satisfy their heavy appetite for the heavy lifting. The construction of the Games Village is impacting the economy of the area as it promises to be a boon to the hospitality and tourism industries in the area in particular and in Nigeria in general because the entire operation will provide over 5000 direct and indirect jobs. Upon completion the Games Village will have the potential to attract foreign visitors if packaged and marketed very effectively in the foreign media. I strongly recommend that the operations of the facility should target the American college students who want go out of the country for their spring break in March of every year. Without a doubt, the Ifeanyi Ubah Games Village would be an attractive tourist center that would attract tourists of all ages from all over the world. It is destined to be the Africa’s best must-go place for the foreseeable future. So, touring the massive Ifeanyi Ubah Games village under construction with the man himself, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah was insightful and served as a window through which I could assess the character and business acumen of Ubah. It was not a surprise to those who are familiar with business undertakings of Ifeanyi Ubah. The man is a trailblazer and has been driven by a sustained vision and plethora of new ideas cascading on his holdings. Ubah’s primary focus is not necessarily to make money. He builds these businesses to enable people earn income through direct and indirect employment. In addition to the economic effects of his projects, the social impacts and cultural pride of Ifeanyi Ubah’s investments in the southeast should be emphasized and highlighted If other wealthy people, in Nigeria could emulate Ubah and embark on similar projects in their locale, they would lift people off from poverty. The standard of living of the people from the area would be enhanced significantly if industries are sited there. |

Ariani: I had said that before. IPOB must develop a political wing, a political party, and using it's strong grassroots presence to wrestle power from the current crop of our political jobbers in Abuja.
IPOB would have legitimized her struggle if she achieves this, and can successfully take the struggle to the floors of Senate and house of rep, using her elected members.
It will give the struggle both grassroots and elitist coloration. GBAM. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND |

Tkester2: OP, i don't want to insult you, seeing that you're Igbo. But your postulations are just pure stupid. How do you expect IPOB to embark on projects in the SE, on what ground is IPOB to do that? Do you pay tax to IPOB or does IPOB in anyway looks like your government representatives?
You stated that IPOB has got a lot of money in its kitty, how do you know? Or are you just speculating? Infact, do you even know/understand what IPOB mission is?
I mean this your thread is just silly. Please, you may wish to discontinue. I'd didn't know that ipob have money by mere speculation because they said that they are rich and building the second Niger bridge is not a big task for them. my Opinion was a suggestion not something that is mandatory. "since ipob is funded by Igbos is there anything wrong if the execute projects that will help to develop igboland" one last thing, my thread is not silly |

rhymaster: This people keep talking and chest beating more than a gorilla! To ask for ordinary money to buy arms brought Kanu and his fellow criminals a treason trial, yet you want to invite a nuclear bomb strike into an illegal weapons facility in Iboland? Have you forgotten that while 10 million is a large number of people, the 170 M+ other majority Nigerians have as much stake as the minority criminal elements. When push came to shove in 1967-1970, 3 M Ibos who were part of the deceived by Ojukwu and nothing happened! Ojukwu mariied and had sexual relations with multiple girls after, yet 3 M died for nothing!
If you start even a pistol making factory without legal permits, then no court of law in Nigeria or outside will give a care in the world when illegal weapon manufacturers are decimated. I wonder if there's a misnomer in the DNA of some people that they must manage to self-destroy! You want to build underground weapon facility in a place your are landlocked, where the first step the government will take is to fence off Iboland to even a grain of beans from crossing into Iboland and all rice facilities and rice taken away to be sold before the blockade. No ground troops or fighter jets will be deployed for 6 months or more of hunger and then when the big guns of the Nigerian Army start rolling, we will see who will be left to right! 1. Igbo land is not landlocked 2. ipob is not Igbo alone 3. I don't expect your kinds to understand stuffs like this because you are just a minor |

ezeudu23: gbam!!! IPOB is not a political party, how many times Dem go talk something before o go enter Una ear. Apga was a litmus test but it failed. Apga is better positioned to do what the op wants, but what do you get sellouts, thieves, manipulators such as Peter obi, Andy umeh, rochas okorocha, chekwas okorie, ekwunife Uche (latest shediot), Chris uba, Andy uba, jim nwobodo - all of them all not fighting for the ohaneze umuigbo rather they azzlick some azzholes like Jonathan, buhari, obasanjo alga is a different case. ipob is a trusted organization with strong moral principles. I believe that they will perform well on the political scene. because there government will be a government of the people and by the people. |

8xtr6r: How can you state that IP0B is a scam just because of your sentimental connections? Have they defrauded you before?
Why don't you write about a UN supervised referendum which is the surest way of putting your misinformation to the test?
Since you think not up to 50% of our indigenous people believe in ipob how many rallies have you had in the last 6 months to counter the numerous protests in the East?
It's ridiculous to so assert that IP0B should begin building bridges and the likes when there is a government in place collecting the revenue accruing from the resources gotten from Igboland. don't misunderstand me. I did not say that ipob is a scam I said that some people think that it is a scam because of the experience they had with uwazuruike led massob. on the other issue that is the reason why I suggested that ipob should form a political party so as to unite the old eastern region. ipob can establish a secret government just like the Americans and other powerful western nations. |

I have heard people saying that ipob is a scam organisation created by nnamdi KANU to scam people and enrich himself just like uwazurike did with massob. so don't you think that if the upon family could help the people in this trying times don't you think that it will reaffirm our trust in them |

gartamanta: IPOB is not about funding capital projects. That's not what it was created for and the organisation is not about Igbos alone. Igbos are just one tribe out of over 40 in IPOB. why would it show favouritism to just one tribe. Get your facts right thanks, correction noted about other ethnic groups in ipob. though the organisation was not created for what I am saying but is it bad for the organization, whom much have been given,to help the people in this time of economic desperation? |

I think it is time for IPOB to prove her loyalty to the Igbo race. IPOB once promised to build the second niger bridge in one of their statements and I believe that given the huge donations IPOB received(some single individuals contribute as much as $2m), she should be able to help the Igbo speaking states financially(rivers and delta included). IPOB should partner with the state govs to execute projects that will be beneficial to Igbo people. for instance, the abia seaport on hold because of lack of funds and this is a project that will not just benefit abia state but the entire Igbo nation. so in instances like this why do we have ipob? we need them to fund çapital projects the will employ our people and make igboland more viable for investments .For IPOB to gain the trust of the people, including continued funding, it is time for her to have the welfare of the people at heart.
IPOB is a strong international organisation that depends on the financial charity of Igbos in diaspora to survive. It is time for them to prove to us if the really want our development especially this time that the economy is harshh |

joeprince23: OP you are the most naïve,useless, senseless and foolish individual I have come across. Outside oshogbo, sagamu, and ado where else have you been. FYI: igbo and SS are one and the same, igbo is so interwind with SS that you can't seperate them online. Have you ever heard of rivers, bayelsa and delta states(pay close attention young man). I will start with rivers cause its my state, over 60 percent of rivers are ethnic igbos/igboids(only 1/4 of these identify as ikwerre) the others are core igbos eg. Onelga, etche, omuma, oyigbo, ahoada east and parts of ahoada west etc. I am from rivers state but I am as igbo as an nnewi or ngwa man, most ikwerre land are core igbos except southern omohua. Coming to delta state which has 3 senatorial districts, delta central is urhobo, delta south is itsekiri ijo isoko/urhobo,but when when you come to delta north(my oh my) there are the most central igbos in nigeria(more core igbo than owerri, aba, ikwerre and other southern igboids) ask of people from igbouzo(ibuza) isele uku, ibulu uku, asaba etc. In general up to 30-40 percent of delta state are igbos. Coming to bayelsa, although the state is largely izon and riverine but you will be shocked By the number of igboid communities in the state especially in ogbia LGA. Igbo is also a lingua franca for a huge number of rural people in the state,I have worked in mbiama, gbaram and many communities in the state so I know this for a fact. Coming to akwa-ibom, abia state indegenes in this forum can bear me withness on this, many communities in abia and akwaibom have the same language(eg aba in abia and abak in akwaibom) the same customs(eg abiriba in abia and ikot epene in akwaibom) infact southern abia state and ibibio people of akwaibom see themselfs as one. Finally cross-river,this state is very interesting because only about 30% of the state are ethinic efik(calabar people) although efik is largley learnt in schools outside efik land, cross river is the most diverse state in the entire southern nigeria. There are significant ethnic igbos the state especially in and around abi LGA(liyel imoke a former governor is from abi and an ethnic igbo,he speaks and writes exellent igbo), ogoja people are of the same ethnic nationality as western ebonyi state(the are also neigbouring communinities there). Edo is a state I know little to nothing about about, because it is the only state in the entire SS/SE that islam penetrated eg Auchi. Edo is has much more in common with SW that SS or SE. Although there are insignificant igboids in the state(ika-igbo). With this I believe I have enlightened you and other naïve SW teenagers in this forum a bit. thanks for the information. but there is a large population of Igbo in Edo. the igbos In bayelsa is from the anioma stock, if anioma state is created then they will be recovered together with igbanke of edo |
