I did notice this before I broke the first screen; when ever I receive calls if not for my mi band 4 vibrating, the phone may be vibrating but the screen will be totally off except I press the fingerprint button. Its been there for long and I have no updates.

Changing your phone width in the developer option to 900px on Redmi note 7 will lead you to hard reset your phone. It will stuck in boot loop. I don't know if it the same with other note 7.
The highest it can go is 800px
