If a man like Sanusi with all his education(both western and arabic) and a sterling banking career would end up in marrying an 18year old kid who's younger than some of his own kids,it then means that the issue of child bride ending in the Islamic north is far from over. I can bet that that kid is not yet 18. I strongly believe that her age was marked up a bit to fall into the 'adulthood',just to give the paedeophile called Sanusi some legal right to his pervasion. Afterall,it was stated that she just finished her SSCE which naturally puts her at 17 and 16(for some kids like her from well-to-do families). Any person like this op who in any form, takes up the defence of Sanusi's action is definetly of a deranged mind and morally bankrupt. Sometimes,I feel there should be a curse on such a crusader that 'may his own daughter suffer be given away at the same age to a man old enough to be her grandfather'. But then again, that would mean subjecting a poor innocent girl to punishment because of her father's imbecillity and stupidity. |
DollyParton1:You took the exact words right out of my mouth! |
Everyday we see various hustling girls referred to as 'nollywood actress',yet we can not identify any single movie they have been part of. Am beginning to believe that the phrase 'nollywood actress' is a term used loosely to refer to any hustling girl out there. Watchout: Before the end of the day, another story of another 'popular nollywood actress' will break an nobody will have an idea of who she is |
This 'Waec' paper no gree leak |
whirlwind7:You just read my mind. The very first thought that came to mind was how boko haram on this fateful day would have been wiped out with just one good guided missile. If only our miltary was on top of their game with active radar and air survelliance. |
Op, You are expecting Rochas to fulfil a campaign promise? Wow! You must be a learner? |
I also want to join the good people of Imo to thank Owelle Rochas for making many previously successful contractors bankrupt by sending them to use their personal and borrowed funds to execute contracts only to deny them at the time of mobilization payment. Also want to thank him for destroying people's homes in a bid to build new and wider roads, only to abandon the road projects. Home dem no see,Road dem no see. Also thanking him for over 1000 new schools built in Imo which our children now attend in the spiritual realm. Also want to thank him for collecting the bail out fund meant for the payment of the worker's salaries which he had earlier embezzled and for using it to sponsor over 100 of his boys to a spending spree and jamboree in Turkey while the rightful workers and pensioners continue to groan. |
I wish the APC will be doing this squabble till the deadline for a candidate closes. |
All these stories that break about all these celebrities are taken with a pinch of salt these days. They will claim ownership with such wonderful headlines as these, later the house will catch fire and the Landlord will apear.Kate Henshaw, P-square,D'banj,Emeka Ike etc comes to mind. All these lies they are sharing..... |
Please, why can't the people of Osun state gather and mourn and fast and pray that God take away Rauf Aregbesola from earth since its obvious that the so-called APC led house won't impeach him? |
I keep telling all who cares to listen that there are only two tribes in nigeria, the Rich elites and the rest. Up there, they don't care whether you are yoruba, igbo or hausa, as long as you are part of them(the elites) and can get 'deals' done, you are a brother. Its only the poor and at the social media like NL do you get kids being tribal bigots. Up there, they wine and dine and club together, their kids even share apartment in schools abroad. Most tribal bigots you see on NL are from poor background. Quote me anywhere! |
This pose now fully confirms the earlier news that there is indeed a rift. Not fooled one bit |
When is Seun Osewa proposing to Linda Ikeji? It will make the biggest merger in blog business/social media in Africa. We,in Nairaland will support him |
alonzoiv:Most times they don't have anything else to offer |
Yet these 'civilzed' nations will be the first to claim that there's nothing like demons. Abeg,if not demons, what will make a human to be collecting skulls and fake human parts in her little room. Anyway, this is what you get when an economy is stable, people tend to indulge in useless lifestyles. If this woman is hungry and doesn't know where her next meal will come from, will she waste her money on stockpiling weapons? The very first thought when cash enters her hands will be garri, sugar and groudnut. |
Which of the two is currently in the senate? |
You see those looks right there? Those are how I put my face when am not understanding jack of what the speaker's saying. If I look too attentive,it means am acting it. That's what's happening here |
With all due respect,I think its best that Rauf Aregbesola dies instantly. Its only then will somebody else take the seat to gradually reverse all these mess he has so sunk the state. ...Then and only then will the state move forward again. |

Let anyone who has ear hear this! Sex is a very powerful tool of covenant. Anyone who engages in sex is open to any covenant released by the carrier. Look at how a perfectly normal heterosexual family man ended up unable to hold himself from homosexual tendencies. That is because he entered that covenant with the corper(a carrier) that night and the spirit behind that act possessed him. And sadly he has contaminated some teenage boys with that homosexual spirit who might grow up to think it as normal in their lives. Please, never never out of curiosity experiment with any perverted lifestyle(eg homosexualism, lesbianism, incest, bestality, paedophile etc) for you might fall prey to a stronger spirit behind it and won't be able to come out again! But if you are in that hold already, there is a power abover every other power and it is in Jesus Christ. Seek a genuine servant of God(gifted in deliverance). Jesus saves. |
The governor is a failure. The people don't want him again as he has lost all credibility with the people and am happy that the PDP has started waking up to the fact that any body who failed to govern well in his first tenure should be rejected for the second tenure;incumbent or not. The APC candidate(abubakar audu) is a worse candidate to sell, but the PDP's chances will only be hindered if they represent the incumbent governor to the people. So the best move for the party will be to shop for a credible candidiate with integrity since the APC had failed to do that. Good one PDP |
PentiumPro:You are too bigotry for a woman. With all due respect, your posts disgust. |
PentiumPro:They are not really interested in all these tribal bashing you and your people feed on. |
Some lawyers in Imo State at the weekend faulted the recent appointment of the members of the Imo State House of Assembly as the Local Government Caretaker Committee chairmen by Governor Rochas Okorocha. Governor Okorocha had penultimate weekend appointed the 27 lawmakers as the caretaker chairmen of the 27 council areas of the state. He also appointed the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Acho Ihim and member representing Owerri North state constituency, Hon. Chukwuemeka Lloyd as the chairman and member of task force committee on motor parks management respectively. This is even as the members representing Isu and Ideato South State Constituencies, Mrs. Ngozi Obiefule and Hon. Ikechukwu Amuka were appointed as the chairmen task force on street trading and task force on environmental sanitation respectively. Six members of the Assembly, who are of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declined to accept the offer saying it was unconstitutional to combine their duties as lawmakers with that of the executive. Speaking in separate interviews with The UNION, the lawyers declared that the appointments were illegal and a plot by the governor to mortgage the legislators. According to Chief Uche Edozie Nwaugo, the appointment was an affront on the constitution and “remain unconstitutional because there is separation of powers among the three arms of government with regards to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. “It only goes to show that Governor Rochas Okorocha is belittling the members of the Imo State House of Assembly. He has continued to show his disdain and disregard for the constitution. That is why he continues to ridicule it”, Nwaugo said. He also said that by reducing the speaker and members of the state House of Assembly to mere motor park task force committee chairman and members was even more insulting irrespective of how much they were envisaging making from such exercise. Nwaugo, who was a third republic commissioner for agriculture in the state, said by accepting the positions, the speaker and the members of the state house of assembly had compromised their constitutional position of making good laws and checkmating excesses of the executive. “By this action, the speaker has now allowed himself to be made a messenger to the executive arm of the state government and the people of the state expect him and the lawmakers to relinquish their positions and reject the appointments”, he said. Former state publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Enyinna Onuegbu, said lawmakers who accepted the appointments to serve as task force members and Local government caretaker committee chairmen were a disappointment to the people of the state. He threatened to sue the governor and the members of the state house of assembly if they did not revoke or reject the appointments, because according to him, “It is either they resign their position or we will use the court to declare their seats vacant. “As a lawyer, I am disappointed in the members for accepting the appointment just for the purpose of being seen to be spending government money. I am (also) disappointed in the leadership of the House of Assembly, who are determined to show so early in their four-year tenure that they are the governor’s apron spring. “The members of the House of Assembly are legislators and not a branch of the executive. Having been elected into office, you cannot appoint such an elected person into position that is elective or appointive. “The House of Assembly is supposed to be a house that screens those who are to head the local government in a transitional arrangement in the absence of elected executive chairmen. (Therefore) it is illegal. A situation where the elected members of parliament take up another appointive position from the executive, the House of Assembly will now be unable to do the oversight function that the legislature does over the activities of local government. “In other words, they are now the ones executing the budgets of the local government and the ones checkmating themselves in terms of oversight functions. That is also wrong. “Thirdly, by accepting that appointment, they have clearly mortgaged their conscience to the whims and caprices of the executive led by Governor Okorocha. They can no longer be in a position to do their jobs as the watchdog of the executive. “Fourthly, the House of Assembly is supposed to pass the budget of a state and that of the local government in the absence of a local government legislative council. In other words, by leading the local government, the house of assembly will now be in a position to present the budget to themselves and approve it for themselves. “Finally, the question is: are the members of the house of assembly the only people that are fit to be appointed as the local government administrators. Rochas is only trying to get them to soil their hands so that they will not have any moral ground to question the activities of the executive branch of the government. That is why we are against it”, he said. Onuegbu also expressed disappointment on the speaker, Hon. Ihim, for descending so low to take up the position of task force committee on motor park management. “He is the biggest joke of this dispensation. How can number three citizen of the state accept the appointment to serve as motor parks task force chairman. It is ridiculous”, he said. Also speaking, chieftain of All Progressives Congress in the state, Chief Basil Nnaoma Chukwu, said though the governor’s action was illegal, he might have a reason for the appointments. “Constitutionally, the roles of legislators are to make laws, perform oversight functions and checkmate the excesses of the executive among other roles spelt out in the constitution. The three arms of the government—legislature, executive and judiciary—act as checks and balances to one another. “So, these three months now that they are to be saddled with and take care of the affairs of the local government areas, the volume of assignments given to them is highly demanding. These things are going to impinge on their constitutional duties of making laws for good governance and peace and development in Imo State. “I don’t know the reason why the governor did that. But I don’t think it is what the constitution demands”, Chukwu said. On the statement of the deputy that their action was backed by law, the APC chieftain said accepting to serve as local government caretaker chairmen was not part of their oversight function. http://theunion.com.ng/news/constitution-lawyers-tackle-governor-over-violation/ |
starlingslimnet:Exactly! You have become too grown in theology that you have lost touch with the basic tenets of the faith. Titus3:9 states 'But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain'. As a grown christian, you of all should known that there are authorities which christ has placed his people under in the church. And here, these people have taken a decision to protect its flock from the nudity and irresponsible lifestyle that is eating up the fabrics of the society. And instead of your basic christian tenets to see it,you rather became over critical,no thanks to your 'over growth' in knowledge, thereby creating foolish questions and contentions that will not amount to anything but more argument. Son,sometimes, its good to just sit back and follow the elders that have been given the authority. In trying to show how 'learned' you are,you showcase foolishness. Selah. |
starlingslimnet:In trying to sound intelligent, you ended up most foolish. I plead that you speak no further. Anyone engaging you in an argument would be wasting his time in endless argument. |
Kudos to the church. The church should keep doing its best to resist the nude craze that has enveloped the society from infiltrating it. P/s,whoever is not comfortable with their rules is free to take his or her wedding anywhere else. Its not be force. |
Recently, the media was awash with the accusations and counter-accusations between the musical duo of P-square and Soundcity. Am happy that soundcity spoke up on this bad attitude that has cropped up among our nigerian artistes. They have developed what is called 'entitlement mentality'. A mentality where they must receive from you because they are artistes. You will have a nigerian artiste as a longtime friend and maybe you have a party, let's say, your wedding and you extend an invitation to this your longtime friend that has 'blown' and he or she will tell you how much you will have to credit his account with, the specific expensive wines you must serve them, the kind of hotel you must lodge them in(if its outside their state of residence),the number of flight tickets for him and his/her crew etc. Failure to meet the demands, the artiste will not attend your function, regardless of how long you've been friends or the help you may have extended to him in the time past. Note,he's not there to perform but just to grace your occassion like everyother friend of yours. Recently,a successful industrialist from the south-east was hosting one of the kid's traditional wedding and he had cause to invite a celebrated artistes who's currently making waves on the music scene. The artiste demands were all met which included a first class ticket from Lagos to the east. Incidentally, the industrialist and the artiste were all on the same flight headed to the east. But what baffled me most was that while this artiste sat comfortably in first class, the industrialist and some of his senior management team who went along with him were seated in economy. This is an industrialist who is ranked in the top 5 industrialists and billionaires in Nigeria currently. Sometime ago,the past administration saw the need to solicit and raise funds to hep rehabilitate the victims of boko-haram. They pleaded with Nigerians to help by opening easy and accessible channels for donations. People from all walks of life including school children sent in donations for these victims. To further raise donations, the government put together a fund raising dinner where business moguls, philantropists, captains of industries gathered and from their business incomes made pledges. At intervals, the moderators and Mc's will make passionate call on the viewers at home to donate. But the saddening thing which most people didn't know was that the artistes who performed that night demanded and collected their millions before performing that night. Am not saying that its wrong to make money with your talent, but for God's sake that night was for a charitable cause which even school kids and poorer folks than them were donating,it wouldn't have hurt if they donated their talent for free as their contribution, but no,not Nigeria's new-breed artistes! They must take! Sometimes,I put the blame on the corporate bodies and corrupt politicians who have turned them to spoilt brats by splashing them with so much money in the name of endorsement deals. What P-square did to soundcity is not peculiar to the music duo but has become a common place among our so-called artistes. |
This is a wicked practice that has pervaded our nation which the President to look into. We are in a nation where the supposed government regulators victimize and brazenly extort millions daily from the players in their sector. The shipping companies would tell you of the millions they lose daily to the staff and officials of Nimasa and DPR in the name of bribes. The manufacturers will tell you of millions extorted from them daily by the SON. Those into foods and drugs business can tell you how much NAFDAC periodically extort from them to allow them operate. The worst is the oil companies, the millions that are extorted illegally from them by the DPR and NNPC. ...The list is endless. If your company refuse to part with these illegal monies(that are never receipted) to these 'ogas' that are supposed to be neutral regulators, they will frustrate your company out of business. |
So that's what this generation has gotten to. You impregnate a lady and she moves into your house, that makes her your wife? |
j1mmy:Atleast,whatever they do,they do it for money. Your people kill and commit ritual as a lifestyle with the devil giving them nothing in return. So who's the bigger fool? I was with some yorubas who openly lamented how their people fill their life with fetish and occultic and evil rituals and activities and still live in rusty and crude life. They lamented how foolish and blind the devil has dealt with their people. They even commended the few igbos that do it for they smartly get a good deal. Ritual dens in almost every 5kilometre stretch across the south west states, yet they are in squalors. Once again, who's animalistic the fool? |
