@ post, if u are a smart enough, you should be able to know if he has the money and does not want to spend, or he just doesnt want to spend at all. If he does not want to spend and he's got the cash, and he loves u, do not dump him, he might know what he is doing.

First impression does not really count, reason is because there is always a pretender, be it conversationally or appearance, or place of meeting, a second or 3rd meeting could reveal what a person really is.

However first impression does count based on how well you can observe, some people can be so real, that if you even meet them in a church, what comes out of their mouth would def tell u the kinda person they are.

I can only contribute to this thread based on my own personal experience, I really do not have the natural habit of doing a BIG WOOING to be precise, it makes me feel im buying a girls attention or woeva.

The thing is, I can observe a girl that wants treasure for attention, and one that wants to feel ur swag in every swagable manner. So I apply either techniques to whichever fits in. In General terms to this Subject, I would say treasure showing and spending still exist, but not in a larger way as it was before.
One thing which I think is of a majority reason is the ECONOMICAL MELTDOWN, not talking about the recent one, the economy has been ruined long time, the flu has just shown itself, another reason is the generalization of men being called "mugus" for spending has actually turned the table around for spending victims.
