ZinoFego: What is inside "htdocs"?

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 10:59am On Jan 10, 2014
Screenshot of the files/folders inside the xampp folder...
ZinoFego: What are the folders or files listed in the "xampp" folder?

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 11:43pm On Jan 09, 2014
Yes bro!
ZinoFego: Is there any folder called "xampp" in your "C" drive?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 1:17pm On Jan 09, 2014
I sure do know all these bro!
I am saying that there's no folder containing extracted joomla files in the htdocs sub-folder of xampp folder in the C:/ directory. But joomla is up and running on my system...
ZinoFego: Go to Computer.
Click "C" drive
Click "Program Files"
Click xampps
Click htdocs.

That is what the path C:/xampp/htdocs means.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 10:37am On Jan 09, 2014
It's not working...Although I installed joomla via BitNami installer on xampp interface. I have tried tracking the folder in htdocs directly but could not... But localhost/joomla takes me to my practice webpage.
Djangocode: If u are using xampp, U can Locate ur root folder by:

C:/xampp/htdocs

That's yo root folder..
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 8:20am On Jan 09, 2014
Thanks for being there bro!
I am using xampp, I couldn't track my root folder using this method...
ZinoFego: For AMPPS:
C:/ampps/www/ or path/to/Ampps/www

For XAMPP
C:/xampp/htdocs/ or path/to/xampp/www

For WAMP
c:/wamp/www or path/to/wamp/www
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 12:21pm On Jan 06, 2014
@Zinofego, gudday boss! Pls I 've uninstalled AMPPS and now installed XAMPP which also allowed me install Joomla with ease...But I have a problem with tracking my account; was navigating the interface and admin control panel before I had an emergency to attend to in the office which forced me to close it without noting the URL. Pls how do I go back? Thanks
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 6:36pm On Jan 05, 2014
My lecturer, pls I am still unable to install joomla...
ZinoFego: You do not have to halt your ongoing installing, this runs independent of that.

You should have a screenshot as shown below if you use http://localhost:80/ampps/. Try different browsers.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 4:17pm On Jan 05, 2014
For sure I've tried that...Or do I hurt the already installing ones?
ZinoFego: Then use: http://localhost:80/ampps
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 4:07pm On Jan 05, 2014
localhost:80
ZinoFego: What is your Localhost URL?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 4:01pm On Jan 05, 2014
It's launching a blank page bros...
ZinoFego: I had this same issue with my first installation of Joomla 3.1, I had to try several times before the installation was able to complete. Though subsequent ones didn't give a problem.

Alternatively, since you are using AMPPS, please use the steps below to auto-install Joomla using Softaculous.

1. Enter http://localhost/ampps
2. Click Portals/CMS
3. Click Joomla
4. Click Install
5. Enter the required parameters
6. Click Install.

I hope that will help.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 3:40pm On Jan 05, 2014
Abeg ooo, this stuff is not installing...it's been static for more than an hour; and pls hope it can install offline?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 3:21pm On Jan 05, 2014
Site you mean should the "site name field we filled"? But hope the error will not affect the completed installation sha?
ZinoFego: Yeah....but a different site entirely. Because if you are installing the same site in two browsers, when one finishes, the other will give error.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 3:04pm On Jan 05, 2014
Ok Boss, but can I install concurrently using firefox and chrome?....Hmmm, already testrunning ooo; to go with the one that finishes first.
ZinoFego: Yeah, but it will surely complete. You may use Google Chrome, if it takes too long in the other browsers.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 2:29pm On Jan 05, 2014
Alright, already installing but it's taken decades to do that...lol
ZinoFego: Joomla will automatically check all values for you, if there are errors, you must correct them before moving to the next step.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 2:05pm On Jan 05, 2014
Tnx man!, pls I am at database configuration, how do I check all the values i have entered before proceed to overview?
ZinoFego: Waoh, that's great. Enjoy your website.

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 1:42pm On Jan 05, 2014
You're the bomb bro! A great and patient teacher indeed, I have seen where I missed it, didn't download an extractor and also never extracted the Joomla files. I just did that now and got the required result. Thanks man!
ZinoFego: Ok. Now do this.

1. Redownload a fresh copy of Joomla.
2. Create a new folder into Ampps/www
3. Then run the installation again.

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 12:50pm On Jan 05, 2014
I get this once I click "JoomlaTraining"
ZinoFego: Please let me see the screenshot of the error.

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 12:33pm On Jan 05, 2014
Exactly...
ZinoFego: So is your error coming at the point of installation?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m):
Followed your class from the beginning where I downloaded both Joomla and Ampps applications as you instructed. I went on to install tha Ampps app and continue with creating a local server (localhost:80/) because the Apache worked fine without modification; after which you directed we copy the JoomlaTraining folder to the www sub-folder of the Ampps before creating a Database (localhost:80/phpmyadmin)....I did all these; added user, check all necessary boxes...

ZinoFego: Database creation? I am kinda lost here. Please outline how you got there.

WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 11:50am On Jan 05, 2014
Exactly the screenshot you posted bro; even worked fine to the point of database creation...
ZinoFego: What do you get when you type : http://localhost or http://localhost:8080/ on your browser?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 11:39am On Jan 05, 2014
I have tried both approach and still gets same error message "parent directory"
eze-best:
subfolder "www" inside "Ampps" folder
[img][/img]
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 11:33am On Jan 05, 2014
subfolder "www" inside "Ampps" folder
ZinoFego: Try this URL: http://localhost/JoomlaTraining or http://localhost:8080/JoomlaTraining as your case may be.

By the way, in which folder is your JoomlaTraining?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 11:21am On Jan 05, 2014
Thanks for the timely response bro!...If I click the "JoomlaTraining" folder, I get "Parent Directory" instead of the screenshot you posted. Pls how do I fix this?
ZinoFego: What error did you get?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ezebest1(m): 2:05am On Jan 05, 2014
@ZinoFego, pls everything worked fine until the Joomla installation point..."the JoomlaTraining" folder in the www subfolder of Ampps folder isn't opening for me to fill in the necessary parameters to proceed with installation. Do pls kindly assist. Tnx
PoliticsRe: Is Ebonyi No Longer Part Of Nigeria? by ezebest1(m): 10:33am On Dec 31, 2013
If I rightly deduced your assertion of an Ebonyian, I am afraid you have a very limited perception of the state and her subjects. Ezza, Ezilo, Ikwo as well as Abakaliki are merely minute fractions of Ebonyi as a state; should you do not know, the state was created from Enugu and Abia state(s). The old Abia/Imo Ebonyians were (and are still) major drivers of the Nigerian educational and political systems e.g. Late Aja-Nwachuku (Nigeria's first Education Minister), Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (First Executive Governor of Abia State/National Chairman of the defunct ANPP), Late Dr. Akanu Ibiam (first civilian governor of eastern Nigeria), Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim (/former senate president/incumbent SGF) etc. So brother, how can a state that produced the first pilot of Nigerian education plane among others be perceived as living in stone ages? That Offa is better enlightened than Ilorin doesn't make Kwara a nothing for good state; same comparison goes for Ogbomoso and Ibadan likewise Afikpo/Ohaozara to some other parts of Ebonyi. Please let's learn to be constructive and thorough in our take on issues.
mascot87: Lol
I served in that state and I can tell you that their is nothing to report about that state. They are living in stone age and the funny part of it is that with the number of people i spoke to their, they seem to feel comfortable with whatever they get good or bad and they don't complain. They don't insult their leaders and they believe that even if their governor is not performing well, God will give them someday someone that will perform well.I remember the Ezza, Ezilo,Ameka,Ameri, ikwo people. They don't bother about anything, they just live their life and peacefully. If you hear Enugu people say "you this Abakaliki man" it's an insult o,it mean say you be mumu. They believe Abakaliki people too mumu.Abeg free them jorr, they are in a world of their own

PoliticsRe: Tunde Bakare Reject Cow From GEJ by ezebest1(m): 9:45pm On Dec 29, 2013
That GEJ is the president of the country neither changed his faith nor willingness to share with people during festive period. Why trying to score a cheap political point by the political preacher? Lest I forget, thought he foresaw a change in Aso Rock some months ago?...Wondering how some gullible Nigerians still take him serious.
PoliticsRe: B-r-e-a-k-i-n-gnews!!iyabo Obasanjo Re-confirmed Before Her Letter Was Published by ezebest1(m): 12:11am On Dec 19, 2013
http://saharareporters.com/news-page/letter-obasanjo-iyabo-and-i-met-cambridge-and-she-expressed-same-sentiments-chief-segun-os
shizzle11: Confirmed!

Even sahara reporters just confirmed that former governor of ondo state Olusegun Osoba, confirmed that Iyabo shared the same sentiment with him in their chanced meeting in London. I guess the dust can now settle as to whether the letter was fake or not.

With this revelation, I wonder what the APC touts and goons will have to say.

Awaiting the senseless irritants and clowns to report here to utter their usual demented rants and gibberish

And who told you the entire SE is not endowed with oil? Already explored are the deposits in Abia, Imo and recently Anambra; in the pipeline is Ebonyi. Wake up pls!!!
geeez: There will be a minimum of five countries if there should be a referendum around that today

The SS already knows the reason why you so badly wanna associate with them is their oyel and they are wiser now than they were about forty years ago
PoliticsRe: Untold Story Of How Boko Haram Overrun Nigerian Soldiers, Massacre Hundreds by ezebest1(m): 8:43am On Sep 22, 2013
The creation of a new military division in Maiduguri was master-minded by Sambo Dasuki as a channel for funding and equipping his/their foot soldiers; the result is already playing out. It's almost very unprofessional of General Ihejirika to have sanctioned the withdrawal of a selected team of unbiased patriots who were inches away from making Boko Haram a history by turning them to cannibals.
Sincere 9gerian: I can understand sporadic attacks by few Boko Haram elements but seriously I cant understand why they should still have the capacity to stage such massive attacks in areas under lock down by the military in the last 6 months? This is a serious indictment on the military and the leadership of Ihejirika. Is there a connection between the disbandment of JTF and replacement with new military division and this upsurge or relapse? This is very sad. It seems we started celebrating too early. Boko Haram seems to have recovered from the initial set back and even overcomed the problem of disconnection of GSM. Maybe the GSM should be restored so that atleast people can call for help when the need arises seems it no longer hinders Boko Haram attacks. The military itself seems to lack information or intelligence on the capacity of Boko Haram because they gave the impression of a dying Boko Haram before this upsurge.

But whatever happens, the elements covertly or overtly behind this mayhem CANNOT ride on the back of violence to power. If people ride on the back of terror and blood shed to Aso Rock, then Nigeria is finished.
