join naijaterra.com Spokesman of the group, Okhue Oboi who assured Tinubu that they are cleaning and detoxifying the Abuja environment for him to operate, stated that they've been unhappy with how politicians have conducted themselves since Tinubu was announced as the winner of the February 25 presidential poll. Oboi said; “We welcome Tinubu back to the country. Recall that Tinubu emerged the winner at our group’s spiritual presidential election held about two months ago before the terrestrial February 25 presidential election. Now, we have reviewed the volatile developments in the country. We urge the aggrieved parties to give peace a chance because resorting to self-help will do more harm than good to the polity. There is no reason for Tinubu to be afraid because all the campaigns of calumny mounted against him are mere distractions. We are currently cleaning and detoxifying the Abuja environment where Tinubu will operate from. “What Tinubu needs now is prayers of good health and long life from all Nigerians so he could deliver on his Renewed Hope promise for better life for all.” |

join naijaterra.com Unknown gunmen have kidnapped an official of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Popoola Olasupo, while on his way to his duty post alongside one other member of the corps. Olasupo was reportedly kidnapped around 6.30 am on Sunday around the Eledumare-Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. A source from TRACE, who did not want his name in print due to the sensitive nature of the matter, confirmed the abduction. It was further gathered that policemen and some volunteers are currently on the trail of the gunmen. The source said the gunmen, who emerged from the bush, opened fire on a commercial bus in which the official was travelling and he was the only one abducted. Efforts to get the reaction of the spokesperson for TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report. Akinbiyi did not answer the calls made to his mobile and had not responded to a text message sent to him. When contacted, however, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident. “Our anti-kidnapping squad is already after them. We are combing the forest and we know that they will all be arrested. “Ogun State is not a ground for criminals to settle. It is either they leave or we smoke them out of this state,” Oyeyemi said.

join naijaterra.com I go to eat. I visit our Amala place. Did my do and departed. Driving out, two ladies beckoned for a ride. Being a kind guy I stopped. I can swear on Yemoja that their revealing outfits had no impact on my decision. Nor did the fact that one was generously endowed influence me. I was being the kind man, my mother taught me to be. My father had also imbibed in me the “damsel in distress” thinking. They both get in. One in front and the other in the rear. I did not engage in small talk. Then one answered a call in the car. Out of courtesy I reduced the volume. The one in the rear. I kept on driving and she kept shouting into her phone. At some point she tapped my shoulders, then gestured that I reduce the volume more. That’s when I just found a place to park. Politely asked both to come down. Is it that I resemble Uber? Enter my car and turned up my music again. I saw them give my car the high five. The one you use to greet people’s mother. My conscience was clear as I drove off.

join naijaterra.com Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has said many Nigerians, especially those from the South-East, have lost hope in governance. She disclosed this on Friday while urging Alex Otti, the Abia State governor-elect, to run a clean and transparent government. Okonjo-Iweala also insisted the incoming government should focus on “disruptive strategies rather than traditional operational systems.” She gave the charge in a speech she presented virtually at the inauguration of the 100-member 2023 Abia Transition Council held in Aba, Abia’s economic hub. She said, “I told the governor-elect that everything we will do would depend on this governance. Nigerians, especially from that side of the South-East, have lost faith in governance. “They no longer believe the government can provide anything for them. They provide for themselves boreholes, electricity and every other thing for themselves. Although that is entrepreneurial, on the other hand, that is not how to run the place.” The WTO Director General also urged Abia citizens abroad, who have the capacity to assist in recovering the State and upgrade development, to return and help out. She however expressed hope that through the governor-elect, “there is a unique chance to set Abia on the right side of development and modernisation through disruptive digital technology.” |
join naijaterra.com The exercise, according to the State Ministry of Transport, is to be coordinated by leaders of various tricycle unions in the State in accordance with the directive of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. Operators of tricycles, commonly known as Keke NAPEP in Umuahia and Aba will undergo biometric capturing and obtain rider’s permit in Abia State to operate in the state. The exercise, according to the State Ministry of Transport, is to be coordinated by leaders of various tricycle unions in the State in accordance with the directive of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. The permanent secretary, ministry of transport, Ijeoma Okere made this known in Umuahia, adding that rider’s permit would be issued after the biometric capturing exercise. The ministry said the venues for the planned biometric capture are offices of tricycle unions and accredited cyber cafes. The riders, according to the statement, were advised to obey the directive in their own interest as enforcement of the policy would start in the State. But some Keke NAPEP riders, who spoke on the proposed biometric verification, accused leaders of the tricycle unions of allegedly colluding with the State ministry of transport to make money from the them, arguing that the policy is more of revenue drive for the government. However, some tricycle operators expressed their willingness to key into the biometric policy but appealed to the State government to make the rider’s permit affordable for them. The State ministry of transport has always maintained that the policy was aimed at getting accurate date of Keke NAPEP operators in Abia, with a view to maintaining security and orderliness in the State.

Join naijaterra.com A former deputy governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, says she is currently in the process of renouncing her Nigerian citizenship following the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the President-elect. Ojikutu who was deputy governor to Michael Otedola between 1992 to 1993 disclosed this during a process conference in her Lagos residence. According to her, she has been humiliated and ostracised because of her lingering battle with the former Lagos state governor as well as her views on the 2023 general election. “Before the results of the presidential elections were declared, I came out to say that if Bola Tinubu won the election, I would renounce my citizenship in Nigeria and I have my reasons. When he won, people called me and said he would not do anything bad. But I am endangered by the current situation. I have been ostracised and humiliated in places where I should be honoured because of his not being at peace with me. I will not hold a Nigerian passport with Bola Tinubu as President. I am praying to God to give me the nation I can go to. I am not going to America or the United Kingdom. I want a simple place where I (can) stay and live for the rest of my life. I don’t know where I am going but I have already given it to the lawyers to please see where I can get the citizenship. I am working on it seriously before May 29.” She said she is of the view that it was the turn of the South East to take over the presidency in 2023. ‘’I am one of those who believed that it is the turn of the South-East to get the presidency. If we say we want to remain one of Nigeria, then we have to consider equity. You can’t say there is one Nigeria while suppressing a particular zone from getting to the number one shot. “Many people know that with the records of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in eight years and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the years before; somebody who is not compromised, who is not part of the corruption, will find it difficult to vote for both parties. That is being sincere.” Ojikutu said all efforts to resolve the differences she had with Tinubu since she was made a Commissioner representing Lagos State at the Federal Character Commission had been unsuccessful. While lamenting over the state of the nation, she said she is no longer proud to be a former public office holder. “The National Assembly system is too expensive for Nigeria. The natural resources of this nation are enough for every man if it is well managed. I am ashamed to call myself a public officer because I cannot see all my sacrifices. And some people will boast of their political status as excellency. Excellency over a nation like this? People who have served this nation faithfully are unhappy at the turn up of events. There are so many people on the streets who are hungry and everything that was supposed to be put in place has not been put in place.”she said She stated that those who are not satisfied with the outcome of the elections have a right to challenge it in court. She expressed disappointment at the various attempts by some individuals to label those challenging the electioneering process as people committing a treasonable offence.

VISIT naijaterra.com If you are familiar with roadside technicians and vulcanizes in Nigeria, you’ll know that they have a strong relationship with Fufu or Akpu. They love repairing car tyres using this local food item. But, what’s the reason behind it? How did Akpu or FuFu become a reliable way of fixing a broken car tyre? Why do Nigerians confidently trust them when they use this item to repair their tyres? Here’s all you need to know about Nigeria vulcanizers and the use of FuFu for car tyre repair. Why Do Nigerian Vulcanizers Use FuFu To Repair The Car Tyre? Disclaimer: car manufacturers have never advised that FuFu should be used for car tyre repairs. It’s just the improvisation for car tyre repair Nigerian vulcanizers came up with and it works for them to date. Over the years, FuFu has proven to be a reliable car tyre sealant, and in some cases, they use eba as well. But how does this thing work out? How Does The Use Of FuFu As A Car Tyre Repair Work In Nigeria? First, the vulcanizer starts by fitting your new tyre into the rim, there needs to be a sealant that’ll be applied around the areas of your tyre. Why? So that when air is been blown into the new union of tyre and rim, there won’t be any air escape from the sidewalls of the tyre. Modern vulcanizers in Nigeria will use actual sealants to perform this task. But, somehow, those older vulcanizers will use FuFu instead of using a sealant? Why? Is the fufu better than the sealant? No. The reason is that the fufu is cheaper for them than buying a sealant. Problems Of Using Fufu As Your Car Typre Sealant While the fufu works and is also cheaper for vulcanizers in Nigeria, there are still things wrong with using fufu for tyre repair. They are: It has a nasty smell that easily penetrates the car’s interior It stains the tyre since the particles of the fufu are left behind It is not recommended by car manufacturers and therefore cannot be trusted 100%
