The fighters may be faceless, but their sponsor and instigator, Ayatollah Buhari, who PROMISED serious violence if he lost the last presidential election as he lost all other polls before it, is VERY WELL known, and should now be hauled away for an indefinite spell of protective custody, or, alternatively and better still, should be liquidated with unrestrained brutality.
I disagree with you. Buhari is of Hausa-Fulani stock. The region that is being impacted by these bombs are of Kanuri stock. Until this violence spreads throughout the North, we can only say a section of the North is in flames.

FG to award Lagos-Ibadan rail contract soon – Jonathan

By EMMA UJAH
ABUJA— PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, announced far-reaching measures towards accelerating the nation’s economic growth through boosting agricultural output and provision of infrastructure in which a Lagos-Ibadan speed train line contract would soon be awarded.

President Jonathan who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo said at the opening of the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending, NIRSAL, conference that contract will soon be awarded for a standard fast train link between Lagos and Ibadan.

The president who noted that the present infrastructure situation in the country was unacceptable, said his administration was tackling infrastructure deficit across the nation head-on.

https://vml1.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Trading-on-the-railway-1.jpg

He said electricity power supply and transportation were being given priority attention in recognition of their multiplier effects on other sectors of the economy.

The president lamented that the huge annual food import bill of N630 billion was crashing the nation’s foreign reserves said the Federal Government would establish six fertilizer plants, one in each geo-political zone, to make the product readily available to farmers for increased yield.

He added that River Benue would also be dredged up to Yola, Adamawa State.

President Jonathan said: “Robust economic growth can only be achieved if all the economic agents are judiciously committed working assiduously towards committing their resources to this noble course.”

He noted that the on_going programme for agriculture and food security would serve as a platform for preparing the road_map for the implementation of all government_assisted agricultural programme.

He admitted that although in the last five years, the agricultural sector has contributed about 40 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, and 60 per cent of employment, the encouraging growth has not sufficiently impacted on the socio_economic lives of the nation as Nigeria continued to depend on other nations for her food requirements.
Governor of Central Bank, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, had said that all well_informed Nigerians agreed that the nation had the potentials to be great and that agriculture presents the best path to that dream land.

He said: “This idea of common vision, therefore, is not new. What I think is new is the perspective of what has to be done, when, how and by whom.”

Sanusi called for the re_designing and embracing of a holistic approach in addressing the various challenges confronting the nation’s agricultural sector.

They are able to blend in with the local population. These people do not have sites like the militants in the Niger Delta. It will be very difficult to counter them.

Welcome to the new Nigeria.

The Nigerian military is fighting a faceless enemy.

Ndigbo are not id.iots by any stretch of imagination. If there is any detractor in Imo State, Rochas Okorocha is one. Someone alluded Rochas is trained lawyer but I doubt it seriously. If Rochas Okorocha is not dictatorial sleazebag, he could not have dabbled with issue of LGA chairmen in Imo State.

Be very careful what you wish. The load of outbursts coming from you could be likened to what was obtained from Hitler and Germans.
Do you think I do not know about my people? You are simply a detractor. And I do not understand why you would have a problem with this policy and his other enactments. Rochas Okorocha is a known philanthropist who works on behalf of the good people of Imo state. I think it is time you have come to realize this.

You can continue to be a doubt like the Apostle Thomas. And why bring up the Germans? Did he not make his country strong?

Thank you for such rare observation. Detractor or not, I do not banter from the sentimental and emotional plank. Inciting one section of community against another is dangerous precedent that will eventually consume the instigator. It is funny Okorocha is now popularly known as a viper.  By the way, what reform are you alluding in your post?
Do you think Okorocha warrant such detraction? The man has only been governor for 2 months. Why use such descriptions of him? Imo state needs radical change and Okorocha will provide this change. Viper or not, I support Okorocha. We need vipers in Igboland politics. Better a viper than a goat.

Imo state is the cleanest state in all of Nigeria.

Especially if you go to GREEN Owerri.

But if you want the cleanest cities, I would rank them in this order.

1. Calabar
2. Owerri
3. Enugu
4. Jos

@OP

The title of the thread is very erroneous and misleading. Governor of a state can not increase or reduce the power or functionality of a traditional ruler of a particular autonomous community because of the dictate of various culture and tradition which are sources of powers to traditional rulers.

Rochas Okorocha is a dictatorial sleazebag. If the traditional rulers should be held responsible for acts of kidnapping in their various communities, Rochas Okorochas should be equally held responsible for any act of armed robbery or kidnap in Imo State.

I do not think democracy means anything to Rochas Okorocha and hope he should be paid back in kind. Governor could reform a state’s socio-politico-economic culture without being dictatorial.
My brother you are very WRONG.

Rochas Okorocha is bringing meaningful change to Imo state. You are simply a detractor.
