Collegemind: The Abuja Kaduna Zaria kano expressway is a 375km highway connecting the Federal capital territory (Abuja) to the Centre of commerce (kano). This Highway attracts the highest amount of vehicular traffic in northern Nigeria.
Julius Berger is contracted to construct this entire length of road at a full cost of N779,000,000,000 (seven hundred and seventy nine billion naira). meaning just 1km cost about 2.12 billion naira or 6 million dollars this is over 800% higher than the recommended cost of constructing any road set by the world bank which is about N238 million.
This is the most expensive single road project ever constructed not just in Nigeria but in west Africa it is being undertaken by the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration and partly funded under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Funds (PIDF)
