To honor means to give respect. I never wrote that the man should disrespect his mother over his wife. Prioritizing your immediate family does not mean disrespecting your parents. His wife and kids are his main priority.

Now the key words there are LEAVE and UNITING as one with his wife. (Forms an immediate family).
