Hi everyone,

So I got ITA in the last draw (made spouse unaccompanying). This is by far the toughest decision we have had to make as a family.

We are weighing our options as to how to add spouse later. This journey is really not for the faint hearted. Wishing everyone waiting at one point or the other the very best. It would end in praise.

Please if my maintenance fee and balance of school fees is 23,200 pounds is 13 million safe as POF?

Thanks everyone for your insight and encouragement. I am certain it would all end in praise.

Onyekae:
If your ECA is WES, you can renew your ECA before it expires. Be optimistic, hope for the best that you will get ITA before your IELTS expires.

[q
njambert:

Personally,I would say you should prepare all your documents at once so as to submit within a week of reception of ITA.You will receive ITA by the 9th of November or earlier.I don't see the need to rush to pay for IELTS/ECA right now. It's better you wait out your chances and it doesn't work than to rush to redo them now.
uo
bekayy:
You don’t have any problem.

You will get ITA within a month. Congrats in advance.

EsoEso:

Writing Ielts again won't make much difference because your ECA is also expiring two days ahead the IELTS.
Be Optimistic, all things being equal you will be invited First draw in November.
uthor=GraciousWords post=117579735]

Likely that CRS will drop by 4/5 points at each draw indicating that you'll be safe and have ITA by Nov 9. And if you can submit by Nov 10, wonderful.

However, if it were me and I have been on the journey since 2017, I would redo IELTS and ECA NOW, ECA should be quick if you are re-assessing with the same ECA body as before. Best to be prepared. If you do all this and still get ITA by Nov 9 all you have lost is the cost of ECA and IELTS.....a lot of money, yes......but dem no dey buy ITA, COPR and PR for market.

Also remember Nov 16 is the date the new NOC 2021 kicks in, if for any reason you don't submit before Nov 16, you'll need to find your new NOC code before you submit.

Good luck!
Hi everyone,

I am at a crossroad. My CRS score is 493 but my IELTS expires on 21st Nov and my WES 23rd Nov. I am honestly frustrated because it took me several attempts(been writing since early 2017)to get this score and now I don’t know if scores would drop to that level before 21st. I have everything ready to apply as soon as I get ITA but I am really pensive. What do you advise? Should I rewrite another IELTS or remain hopeful. I am honestly tired.

Oopsy:
I got encouraged here, so I'm also back to encourage another yet again... On IELTS

1st attempt: LRSW - 7.5,8,8,7
2nd attempt: LRSW - 8.5,8,7,6.5

Requested EOR on Speaking and Writing and after 10 weeks, my results came:

LRSW - 8.5,8,8.5,8. CRS did triple long jump from 374 to 424!

Well, when i received the EOR, I started crying (LOL). I really can't say what happens at BC or why it happens, but if you know that you know that you know you did better than what you got (in speaking and writing o), request for a remark. It may take time (10 weeks no be here sha), but at the end, it is worth it.

Wow!congratulations.
Santino1:
Congratulations to everyone that got their desired IELTS score today. Following up on the happy mood, I received my COPR today. Below is the details of my application:

WES: 20th September. (MSc Degree)

IELTS: 23rd September (CLB 10)

EOI Submitted: 24th September (CRS 496)

ITA: 4th October

eAPR: 5th October

Medical Passed: 16th October

BG IP1: 18th October

BG NA2: 31st October

BG IP2: 7th October

PPR: 12th November

Passport sent: 14th November

Passport/COPR received: 24th November.

As suggested by cochtrane. Itemised below is what is peculiar about my application:

1. Proof of funds: I submitted a single-page document following the cic guideline. I know some usually advised to even attach six months SOA. Personally, I think it is unnecessary so long you have a document from your bank drafted according to the cic template. My motto has always been KISS (keep it simple and straightforward). Also, a few threads earlier, someone asked if he/she should explain why the money is in US dollars. Well, my POF was in SFr. and it was fine.

2. Medical Examinations: A couple of days after I submitted my application, I went for medicals even without ITA (I was a bit confident I'd secure ITA at the next draw). During the exam, the panel physician thought I might have inguinal hernia and suggested I see a visceral surgeon. After running a couple of MRIs, the specialist scheduled me for surgery two days later. The operation went well and my health insurance picked up the tab including the medical exam which was kind of nice because the exam was about SFr. 700. The major take away of this point is that surgery (either new or prior) doesn't affect your application (at least in my case) as long as it not critical.

3. Reference letters: I work at a university so my case was kinda weird. The HR gave me a reference letter that covers pretty much everything required by cic except job description. The HR personnel said they can't give me a reference with job description as they are not directly overseeing me and I should contact my advisor for that. Now the problem is I'm working on several proposals to secure funding for my Post-Doc and didn't want to jeopardise that. Here comes the important part, the LOE. Your LOE is perhaps the single most important document that you have absolute control over. Please use your LOE to your full benefit (even if takes you 100 pages to thoroughly prove the veracity of your claims beyond doubt). e.g. Part of my job description for my NOC includes "publishing findings in scientific journal". So I listed all my publications and provided links to the various online articles.

All in all, please treat all info you get on this thread as "for educational and informational purposes" only as the only official channel (as Canadianfly and other senior members constantly advise).

Finally, I can't fail to acknowledge the great efforts of the contributors and the e-friends I have made along the PR journey including (but not limited to) 40manlappy, cochtrane, perks, mummyjaygirls, GlisteringStar, Canadianfly, Hephgirl (I hope she's alright), Algbenguze, einsteino, elfmann, aig84 and numerous others I can't mention.

Thanks and good luck to you all.

Apologies for the long epistle.

I can confirm that you can actually use a student copy of your transcript. what WES requires is your TRANSCRIPT(document showing your scores and courses taken regardless of whether it has your DOB and other details or not) however it has to be sent in your institution's envelope sealed and signed or stamped by the appropriate official.

If you are confident of your writing ability, I'd suggest you go for remark. You're only 0.5 off and writing is subjective anyways unlike listening and reading where if you are wrong, you are wrong.

If you are not in a hurry to enter the pool and you are not in the mood to help BC's ministry. Go for remark. I strongly advise it.

Hello Team, Please i need advise with wes evaluation.
i am trying to apply now but i have not yet gotten my certificate yet
Am i required to upload any copies of any document ?
what document will my school forward to wes ?
is it copy of certificate or copy of transcripts ?

i saw this : Note:
Recipient 2: Institution(s) receiving your report
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), formerly Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is added by default. This is a mandatory recipient and cannot be deleted.

Does it mean I cannot delete it and I must pay, I thought wes would give me a code that can be verified online after certificate evaluation.

If I understand the process well, I will send this

1. Degree Certificate
For completed study, send a clear and legible copy of this document to WES. Do not send your original document

And my school will send this

2. Academic Transcript

Will wes still get in touch with my school after this excercise I just described ?

You are required to send a copy of your certificate to wes.
Yes,Wes would contact your institution to verify your documents.

Writing is in no way my weakness. Should I ask for a remark of my writing and speaking or book another test?
