Baba, this is unnecessary as in the attack on his family. Discussions can and should proceed with mutual respect. Abeg you. E joor

Blueelf, nothing justifies the attack on your family but do stop throwing snide comments at fabyom. Don't put yourself in the position where a particular moniker is your enemy.

We don't need all this toxicity. I no be peacemaker oo because I enjoy some rofo rofo fight once in a while but this between the two of you appears very personal. Make we fight as mutuals not as enemies.
I gat you, my good brother! I don't have problems with anyone. I don't abuse nor curse anyone. But here you have a guy that continues to cry and wail on my mention. I don't get it. I believe we can agree to disagree without being rude. Rudeness to people is a sign of lack of home training. Simple.
This is more than a faceless forum. I met tbaba here, until his demise I didn't see him face to face but he sent gifts to my son here in the United States. Don't think cos this is a faceless forum you can mess with people anyhow. You don't know where you gonna meet. My2cent!

Paserio will not fail! That man is determined to succeed!
mank1234:
Fair enough. Hoping whem/if Peseiro fails too, you won't say tomorrow that Finidi wasn't the one in charge.

Rufai heroic gave us the 1994 AFCON cup. His penalty saves got us to the 1994 AFCON finals. It was Rufai that stood against the fleet-footed Kalusha-led Zambia attack and the AFCON trophy. Props to Amunike for those two wonderful goals. Rufai is a legend and does not deserve to be disrespected
Kog45:
Yeah i got your point my man but Rufai @Maroc 88 still remain one of the best by any Nigeria Keeper.

Sir,it is not hype if you indeed watched Rufai in the 80s.Sincerely Rufai in the 90s has lost some of his brilliance but not withstanding he did well and that legendary status was well deserved.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 11:37pm On Dec 12, 2022
Amuneke got his chance with Equavoen, but they both failed woefully.

Finidi with Paserio gave us two wins and a goal-scoring record!
After Paserio, Finito will take over and he will be there for a long time!

Finidi possesses the charisma, humility, composure, and character to lead a team like the Super Eagles. Also, he has won it all!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 10:59pm On Dec 12, 2022
That is why I said if your father has my intelligence, you won't undermine other people's achievements.
I am not surprised you undermined The Great Rufai cos you do not know what success and progress entail.
Continue with your family's legacy of failures.
Blueelf:
And are you a legend yourself?

I thought you said you won't quote me again

Seems you can't help yourself...

Anyways, you're known for your sweetly stupid takes....so there's that

And also, your brain needs hypo to wash away nonsense

Bye bye....Arrow

You insulted me by throwing irrelevant questions at me when you can easily explain Finidi's achievements and playing philosophy.

Do it and stop your deflective babblings.
I will let this pass! Next time you try this with me, I will come at you in a way you could not have ever imagined!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 10:44pm On Dec 12, 2022
That first sentence is insulting take it out!
TheSuperNerd:
Please don't come to my mention asking me silly questions or making your usual poorly informed takes.

Just explain Finidi's Playing Philosophy and show how it would uplift the Super Eagles.

And also kindly tell us what he has achieved.

Amunike's achievements are well known from the Nigerian U17s to Tanzania to FIFA technical study jobs and now to Zanaco. Show us Finidi's.

Unpopular opinion

Peter Rufai is an overrated Legend

I can hardly see the hype he gets as a GK.
When Rufai was your age, he is playing at the highest level of his career not on nairaland.com undermining other people's achievements. Get a life young man!

TheSuperNerd:
Ask them to list the achievements that makes Finidi a better choice than Amunike.

Ask them to also explain Finidi's playing philosophy and Amunike's and how his philosophy (if they know it) can help transform the Super Eagles plays.

This is where they will struggle for words.
What has Amuneke won with his philosophy? We have been winning under 17 since 1985, so what's the big deal in that? What has he won at Club and National team level? The Morrocan coach builds his team on defensive discipline and has won medals at club level. What has Amuneke done? Don't tell me a bullcrap philosophy without results here? He qualified Tanzania to the Nations Cup, yes. Did Tanzania even went past the group stage? Let Amuneke show us what he has won in his career? He flopped with one of the best under 20 team, losing to Sudan in Lagos! What are you talking about?

On what ground is Finidi next in line. Finidi is yet to even coach a Nigerian age grade team or work as an assistant in the Super Eagles set-up. But, Bam, next in line.
Is Finidi not presently an assistant to Paserio? TheGoodJoe whatz up!!

Being part of a coaching crew is not an opportunity. The team will play under the instructions and philosophy of the head coach. You can not count that as an opportunity given to Amunike. That is a very wrong concept and both of you know it.
His time will definitely come but not now! After Paserio Finidi is next in line!

Even though we can’t exonerate amunike completely from d mess cos he was part of d crew however it would be unfair to him to use dt to deny him d super eagles job if the opportunity comes cos he wasn’t d one calling “final shots”...I would prefer renard or pitso,if we can afford any of dem

People should learn to shun tribalism. It has played a big part in holding the country down. Select the best, most qualified, and competent. Stop fighting against people because they are from a particular tribe.

Amunike is the most qualified and most competent. None have a better choice. Support him getting the job and moving this country forward.

He is a national hero and played a part in making us proud.

Same thing we are talking about the coming election. Peter Obi has the credibility and competence to fix the country. Vote him to help change the fortunes of this country.
Like Oracle (Marjoribanks) said. Was this same Amunike not part of Equaveon's team? You are the one displaying your tribalism here!

Wonderment!!!!!!! grin grin cheesy the keeper is part of the team now and not there for decorations we saw great saves from Loris and Pickford just yesterday. And Portugal and Spain combined have scored the most goals in a game in this tournament, how else do we judge an opposition attack? Anyways now I know ultimately they would have to win this WC and defend it successfully before they can finally impress you.
My brother! Seriously! I am jealous cos it is not Nigeria. Lol!

Good submission from you. I think the way we capitulated in the friendly against Portugal left a sour taste in our mouth. I was impressed with the 1st 2 friendlies JP lost especially in the light of the resources he had access to, but the Portugal game no be am. Different topic that home based team that lost to. Costa Rica's first team really tried o
The friendly against Portugal had more to do with psy than tactics. The players didn't put their all into the game until it was 2nil. Remember their second goal was a ridiculous penalty. When we took the game to them Chukweze had a one one that he missed. After we got a penalty. The miss and Dennis behavior killed whatever iota of interest the lad had for the game. Immediately Dennis missed that Pk, I knew we would conceed 2 or more goals.
The best Super Eagles teams lost to even smaller oppositions before major tournaments. Let alone a friendly before a major competition that we should but wouldn't be participating in.
Paserio should be supported!

When they start going toe to toe with teams and not relying on their goalkeeper and luck. They have not met a team with a good attack. France will be the ultimate test.

Rassparrodi is pushing Oshimen to greatness. You can't have such a phenomenal striker challenging for your position and not be world class.

All I know is that victory or a loss alters analysis. You are the best when you win and awful when you are defeated. Brazil were the best until they lost and all of a sudden I read how Vinicius, how Neymar don't track back. Now Morocco is the best. Okay ooo

Again everybody (except the winner of the final) who is rejoicing now will cry at the semi and the final.
Are you impersonating me or I am the one impersonating you? You took this outta my mouth. It was Senegal, then Ghana now Morocco. After France finish dealing with them you won't hear about them again! Funny people!

Football is not government politics...

Football is about talent, discipline and stamina...

Morocco have a talented goalkeeper and that GK has been their hero in this tournament... the administrators have to look for a talented goalkeeper and punish indiscipline players like Emmanuel Dennis and encourage discipline..
Spot on. I do think journalists should be ban from the Super Eagles training and hotel. Those journalists cost us the World Cup tickets. They were just all over the players seeking silly interviews.

One key ingredient of the 94 team was the longevity of our coach then and full government support for Westerhoff. I believe the then FA chairman Emeka Umerouh or so was good too, though Alex Akinyele had his issues. Westerhoff built that team over time and they kept evolving. Personally, I don't believe personnel is our problem. The current team has better players overall than Keshi's (minus Mikel and Enyeama and arguably Victor Mosis) but they got better results. If the NFF gets their acts right, they would appoint the right coach and coaches, the coaches will select the right player combination etc and the results will follow automatically.
Fantastic observation! I believe Paserio will do a great job if given time. He has shown he could make tough decisions! Trust me, that man doesn't take nonsense!

How can you fail to test the keeper on a 3 to 2 counter attack? This second half will be tough. The Portuguese will come out smoking while the Morc boys will have a lot of room hitting them on counters.
Anybody's game!

Born and raised in Nigeria. He was scouted in Nigeria. I even think his brother (Peter Eletu) played under 17 or 20 for us.

Victor Eletu Till 2025, scored and assist in a friendly for AC Milan today. Signed from a Nigeria Academy!
This boy has the attribute missing in our midfield. He is the missing piece. I read an analysis about him and watch his highlights. The teen is a box to box that can dribble, pass, mark, run and score. A mould of both Yaya and Essien. An exciting talent indeed!
If he can improve his decision making he will be a force to rekon with in world football.
