Wife of Biafra National Guard leader, 18 others released after 15 yrs incarceration

Chidinma Orji, the wife of the leader of Biafra National Guard (BNG), and 18 others who were detained on the allegations of treasonable felony have been finally released by the court

Their release was confirmed in a statement made by Jones Fcc Onwuasoanya, acting national leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing

Onwuasoanya said that Ohanaeze Youth Wing led a far-reaching advocacies for justice to be served in the case between FGN, Chidimma Orji and 18 others.

It however said that they pushed for judgement to be delivered, because they were convinced that Chidinma and others were innocent of the allegations levelled against them.

The statement read, “I am happy to inform us that freedom has finally come the way of our dear brothers and sisters incarcerated for the past fifteen years on allegations of treasonable felony. Chidimma Orji and 18 others have been in detention, with the slow pace of our justice upending their lives and dreams in these past fifteen years.

“Over the last few weeks and days, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, under my acting leadership has led far-reaching advocacies for justice to be served in the case between FGN and Chidimma Orji and 18 others. We pushed for the judgement to be delivered, because we were convinced that these brothers and sisters of our are innocent of the allegations against them.

“My deep-seated gratitude to the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide-Youth Wing, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, a man, deeply passionate about the Igbo interest and who can go to any length to ensure that Igbo youths are not deprived of their rights, no matter the situation. He has been at the depth of this struggle and his passion for their freedom and the freedom of all Igbo youths detained unjustly, is never in any doubt.

“Heartfelt congratulations to these brothers and sisters of ours. As the apex Igbo youth leadership organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing shall shortly unveil plans to fully reintegrate them into the society and help them restore their dreams and put their best talents into good use for the development of the society.

SACRIFICES AND PRAYERS AS GBARAMATU CELEBRATES SARABUBOWEI (OWEISEIMOR BINIPERE) THE KING OF THE RIVER

Each year, the people ot Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, Nigeria offer thanks to Sarabobouwei (Oweiseimor Binipere) King of the river. Thought to be over 700 years old, this festival is in honour of an ancient deity that guards the entrance of the territorial waters of the ancient kingdom. This deity is the defender of the waters; it protects against any external enemy that comes within the premises of the Gbaramatu kingdom.

The Ijaw people, as fishermen and women, face alot of sea danger in their fishing expedition; some experience boat submerging at the sea through high waves, through unexpected turbulence etc. Oweisemor Binipere, the king of the sea, they say, will often come to their rescue at the sea. No danger at the waters will consume them as the deity oversees, protects and empowers them with riches.

Today, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo has made it happen in the move to revive this ancient phenomenon that, the people believe, has not been given its right of place in the tradition of the people for its potent power, for some decades. The deity that has not been served for years has gotten a new high priest from the family lineage that has previously served it before now. Ikeretimi Marvelous Agbunase is the new chief priest of Oweisemor Binipere deity at Sarabobou community at the entrance of the Gbaramatu kingdom, it sees from the Escravos River.

Significantly, the deity is believed to be a great defender of the water borderline of the Gbaramatu people. Whoever losses his/her way along the seashore will be protected and Binipere will bring them back home. And another magical power of this deity is that if a canoe capsizes in the river, the next day, the deity will bring out the lost properties magically to the bank of the sea for the owner(s) to receive and give thanks to the deity by pouring libations and sacrifices of thankfulness. It is a belief system among the Ijaws of Gbaramatu as a serving deity that brings abundant wealth and protection to the believers.

Those who serve this deity, they say, have never been disappointed by his powers of blessings over the years.

The coming of the deity according to them at this time, they believe, will help the Niger Delta region to bring back the lost glories of development been faced by the region which Tompolo has stood to be the bridges to interconnect this developmental visions of the Niger Delta people.

They came round the corner shooting sporadically. A man was putting out a table to start displaying his wares and they beheaded him. People like him are not wanted in Biafraland! They made a small fire and wrote "No Election in Anambra" on a placard they displayed next to it and the man's torso. Many people peed on their pants watching that.

Some other small crowd of boys down the road started hailing them. "Who say men no dey! Men dey". A car carrying Dr Chike Akunyili pulled up from the traffic building down the road. They saw the police orderly and concluded that he was a " caliphate slave" being protected by a "supporter of APC". They fired straight at his vehicle shouting " No Election in Anambra state"! "No more election in Biafraland"!

We all saw the aftermath in a video of Dr Akunyili trying to ask for help while he lay dying of gunshot injuries. That video still traumatize me. I knew that gentleman from childhood. I use to smell the aroma of his dinner.

Well, history is told in very few words. Voting took place in a popular election in Anambra yesterday and today despite all the terror attacks. Some of those who shouted " no election in Anambra" while killing so many people to create some impression on us are now waiting for INEC to announce the results just like all of us.

History is recorded in few words ooh. May those killed by the terrorists to strike fear into the electorates rest in peace. May their blood NEVER let the killers and their supporters know peace until they are brought to justice!
