The Federal Government has approved the release of N1.5 billion for Delta State from the N46.4 billion meant for beneficiaries of its Extended Special Public Works Programme (ESPW). Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), stated this on January 7 2021 during the inauguration of the programme at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, Delta State. “For your information, the President has graciously released to us for the payment of stipends the sum of N46.4 billion. And we are ready to pay the stipends. “For Delta State alone, the sum of N1.59 billion has been released. the payment was suppose to be made by end of January as promised by the Hon. Minister but up till today February 18 2021 nobody have received his salary and the Hon. Minister has been quiet. https://thenationonlineng.net/774000-jobs-delta-gets-n1-59b-for-beneficiaries/ |
NIGERIA was built from confusion by few selfish and clueless individuals. the act of selfishness led to the following: The period of colonisation lasted until 1960, when an independence movement succeeded. Nigeria first became a republic in 1963, but succumbed to military rule three years later, after a bloody coup d'état . A separatist movement later formed the Republic of Biafra in 1967, leading to the three-year Nigerian Civil War. Nigeria became a republic once again after a new constitution was written in 1979. However, the republic was short-lived, as the military seized power again and ruled for another four years. A new republic was planned to be established in 1993, but was aborted by General Sani Abacha . Abacha died in 1998 and a fourth republic was later established the following year, which ended three decades of intermittent military rule. the insecurity going on in Nigeria is directly connected to the above history but instead of the leaders to go back to the drawing and find a permanent solution, they are busy deceiving themselves. unless we identify our problem and seek holistic solution we will continue to get worse everyday. the bad leaders have made us hate our only country. |
This is one of the Hon. Minister Of State Labour And Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo words with regard to SPW Programme "From now till the end of the projects, I will be holding regular press briefings to update members of public on progress so far made" Mr Hon. Minister, this is the most critical time that SPW Beneficiaries need your update Sir. We need your update on what has been causing the delay in payment of January Stipends, We need your update on why you gave a deadline to the state selection committees to complete their work within a specified time, but failed to give a similar deadline to the designated Banks? Many people have now started raising a lot of accusations on this programme, tarnishing your image as the minister supervising the programme and that of our president Muhammadu Buhari, We don't want this to continue because we know how you fought corruption during your career as a lawyer. somebody should help us ask hon. minister abeg |
