Top 5 Tips On Funding Your Startup Ensure You Have A Detailed Business Plan. The first step to obtaining funding lies with your business plan. If you’re looking for potential investors, you will need to ensure that you have every single finer detail covered prior to pitching your idea to any financial body. A detailed business plan will allow your investors to see the real concept of your business idea before it has been created, while showcasing all of the opportunities within the market which could help to provide you with some form of profit, further helping to convince them that your plan will be a success. Look Into Grants. There are a huge number of grants available around the world to support a great selection of entrepreneurs, no matter the industry you are looking to break into. Grants are a very effective way to raise capital for your start-up and are often run by governments or private bodies offering substantial amounts of money to support your business. However, if you are opting for a grant, be aware that your business plan and model is likely to undergo a significant amount of scrutiny and you may not have total control over the direction in which your business is going. Government bureaucracy can also lead to a number of delays when it comes to releasing your funds, so this may not be the best option if you’re looking to raise capital quickly. Network With The Right People. Networking is key for all businesses, but make sure that you’re attending the right events and networking only with the right people in order to ensure that you are not wasting valuable time. If you’re spending time with the right people, you can find yourself generating a lot of support for your business and potentially even some new investors. Crowdfunding. Technology has made it easier than ever before for the general public to become a part of a business by investing into a cause or an idea. If your business idea is something that you feel a lot of people will really care about and get behind, then you may want to consider turning to reward-based funding. This allows you to generate some free marketing while also providing your business with some form of finance at the same time. However, be aware that there is a lot of competition on a number of crowd-funding platforms meaning your idea will need to be entirely unique in order to generate a significant amount of interest and therefore funding. Contest Loans. If you are looking to really showcase your business idea then you are able to enter contests in which the winner will receive some form of funding for their start-up. You can pitch against other competitors who are looking to receive the same form of funding and truly aim to win over your investors. Participating can offer a lot of media exposure which is paramount for start-up marketing for businesses. However, not everybody is successful when it comes to funding their start-up in this way, which can leave the faint of heart somewhat demoralised. There are a great number of considerations to keep in mind when it comes to funding your start-up and the five listed above are just a few examples. #copied Adegoke Nig. Agroprenuer forum |

No Farmer! No Nation!! For the sake of the intending farmers, I will like to talk about cucumber cultivation. My focus points are pre-planting; planting and planting operations. 1. PRE-PLANTING OPERATION: this includes all the activities to be carried out before planting, just as when you're expecting a new baby. You're to make so preparation. Under this get a fertile land, clear either manually or mechanically where you have high number of big trees which I'll advise to avoid because of cost implication and probably lost of top soils. After land clearing is ploughing of land which means turning of the topsoil that contains nutrients with the use of tractor, next is mapping out of the production area and road withing the farm. Follow by making of beds with the size of either 15m by 1.2m or 20m by 1.2m depending on your choice or farm size. Add mature manure to the raised beds and mix the soil with the use of hoe. If it's during dry season wet properly before the next operation. 2. PLANTING OPERATION: cucumber is propagated through seed. Here on the prepared bed sow two seeds per hole with 80cm by 30 or 40cm spacing and cover gently with soil. Wet immediately during dry season. Wetting should be done early in the morning and in the evening if you're doing dry season farming. So that implies there should be provision for irrigation. 3. POST-PLANTING OPERATION: just as we care for our baby, so we do to our cucumber because it's a living thing too and the more you care for it the good the good the returns you get. So after planting other operations are watering (during dry season), fertilization, weeding, staking, fumigation (in the case of pests or disease emergence). (a) Fertilization: this should be done twice 1st 2weeks after planting with the use of NPK 15:15:15 and NPK15:15:15 and urea in the ratio 2:1 2weeks after before flowering. Water immediately after fertilizer application. Note: quantity and type of fertilizer should be base on soil test, but I choose NPK 15:15:15 because it's suitable to all vegetables. (b) watering : this is done during dry season farming. And it should be done in the morning and evening when the temperature is low. (c) Weeding: to have a good production, don't allow weed on your beds. This is best done with the use of hole. (d) Staking: this involves supporting the stem of your plant with a twine to a rope hat runs through the centre of the bed and attached to the either end of the bed. This help prevent trailing of the stem on the ground. (e) Fumigation: it involves attacking pests and diseases with the pesticides suitable for the type of insects attack, using a knapsack sprayer. (f) Harvesting: all things been equal forst harvest is after 6weeks of planting and 2nd and 3rd harvests. In most cases 2nd harvest is the most highest. (g) Marketing: before going into production try create your market. Cucumber is usually packed in a 25kg sacs. Thanks a lot for taking your time to read this piece of my write up. Hi everyone, this is farmer wealth i will like to share with you step by step of hybrid maize farming. As the raining season is finally here many people will want to farm. Well it's a good idea as we all know that farming is the alternative way to drive Nigeria economy. But the question is are we doing it right? This is my concern and what brought the idea of this write up. Below are the following steps to take in maize cultivation to make it profitable; STEP1: Site location : select a fertile land (sandy loam soil ), which is not water logged, without much trees and easily accessible. STEP2: Land preparation Clearing : this involves slahing of the bush if it is took thick for a tractor to work on ploughing : this is to be carried out by a machine (tractor), to turn the soil. It's to be done twice with a week or two interval. The first two steps are called pre-planting operations. The next is the planting operation STEP3: Planting: this involves opening of the soil, putting the maize seeds (2seeds per opening ) and covering the seeds with soil. The next operations are post-planting operations STEP4: Fertilizer application: ferlitizer is a material use to bost the soil fertility for good yield of crops. Fertilizers required for maize are NPK and Urea. The best way to know the quantity to be applied to to carry out soil test before planting. Application comes after 1st 2weeks of planting and the 2nd application comes 2weeks after 1st application. Weeding: this is the removal of unwanted plants (weeds) on the farm land. It can be done chemically or manually Fumigation: is the spraying of pesticides on crops should in case there's attack or herbicides on weeds Harvest : maize mature at between either 70-90days or 100-110days. Depending on the variety. Thanks for your time. Call: 08108776718 or whatsapp: 08059371220, for the following hybrid sees (maize, cuccumber, watermelon, tomatoes, okra, plantain suckers etc) and we're also into farm establishment and Management. Truesapiosexual:then you can't do almost all fruit vegs, unless you want to drill a borehole or well because of land size. even during wet season because it's not advisable to totally rely on rain |
Truesapiosexual:if you have access to water go for fruit vegs .e.g. cucumber and leafy vegetables during this dry season. But leafy don't really brings profit during wet season |
Overhead irrigation, using moveable hoses. But it a bit labour intensive. uote author=zeux post=63701461]Good day all, what cheap/economical form of irrigation can I use on 1 hectare of plantain farm.
As stated earlier its not a do or die affair bro. And until we start to appreciate some things in this country, we may not get farming right as a business. Stating that price doesn't mean something can be done. Thanks for your critics, really appreciate. ote author=Delgi post=63410183] Be a bit civil? @muhamm3d may be harsh but he's right. How do you expect an investor that bought 100 acre farmland in oshun state (for example) @60k/acre to pay you 30k/acre to survey the same land and feed and transport you on top. Do you guys think at all before making these ridiculous quotations? No be only 30k/acre, you for charge 50k/acre.
An acre is approximately 4,046 square metres or 43,560sqft if the land is measured at 60 by 120ft, making you have 6plots in an acre. But it'll be 4,033sqm if it's measured at 50 by 100ft, making it 8.7plots in an acre. [quotauthor=Rchesther post=63394653]What is actual measurement of an acre of farm land?
