Food inflation has now drop in 19 month by 0.23 to 22.72% can this be the bearish sign we await.

Many may feel this drop is not significant but mind you that is April figure, and the market is not in the past, but looking at the period of increase, it can be the awaited signal. Then today market fasting is done, let see more of this.

Many of the country’s grains comes from the north, where many of the population is Muslims, the fasting which will have dampen labour and reduce distribution of food, could just be over and with increase farming, labour and logistics. We can start seen more competitive and drastic drop is some prices, hence the letter in the picture above.

Last week introduction session we discussed about the inflation figure, this Monday let us discuss Nigeria economy diversification and what it has to do with agriculture, many have been clamoring for this for a while.

It was been said that this big economy is actually diversified, that is not total dependent on one stream which is oil. But in many circles the populace will not believe this words of the finance minister, mainly because

Majority of our revenue is still coming from crude exportation. Let us put some numbers into this, about 95% of Nigeria revenue come from oil which is about 5% of the economy GDP. That means the remaining 95% is not viable enough to bring revenue, interesting we can then doubt if it is sufficient for local macro economy. As you know that Agriculture is one of this GDP index

1. State of the economy lately is the press is tending positive, but the inflation rate is still not slowing down, while our naira rate has finally devaluate while the pound strengthen

The strengthen of the pound over other currency will make agricultural input and every other thing imported from there more expensive, like we said the devaluation of our money is necessary in the need to close the gap of forex in the black market

Our recession is only relived with a +0.11 increase in growth, better than negative growth, but GDP doesn’t necessary translate to deflation, which is what concern you and I. If the government get richer with forex even as oil price goes up. without subside, we will be feel the contrast of the growth.

Oga the figure are not lie oo, that pump price is not affecting transport, doesn't mean there is no inflation in the state

Am in Ibadan and I can tell you categorically there is no single inflation in any commodity, especially food items

All this crappy scare tactics won't work...

Compare average cost of Transportation, Oyo and Ibadan still has cheapest rate, with bikes of ₦50 still available, a modest meal at a canteen cost you ₦250 to ₦500, eatery 1500 to 3000

Cost of living in Ibadan is considerably low and the standard of living is not bad at all

he said yahoo yAHOO IS ON,THE RISE PEOPLE ARE NOT WORKING ANYMORE THEY JUST DO RITUALS OR FRAUD AND LOOK FOR MONEY THOSE FARMING ARE OUT OF FARM and those doing business have run down due to indebtedness, the economy is woeful thats why

and ibadan is also trying to,compete with lagos so retailers and distibutors hold the key

It is not that bad oo, at least Nigeria stepped out of debt. Economy should be getting better soon. Almost all country economy contracted too
