Sir, the manure must be very dry and the application must be at what distance from the plant? Any effect of this weekly manure application on bi-weekly usage of NPK? Thanks
.
My manure is usu mixed with sawdust. Wet or dry doesn't matter. I apply 5-7cm away from the plants. During harvest I apply manure or npk weekly. Sometimes both.

Ok, I appreciate this a lot sir. Thank you.

So, with your rate of application (npk), how many bags of NPK did it take you to manage the 1005 stands?

Even at young stage, do you still use that same quantity per plant?

Yesterday was my harvest day, so I tried my luck again, after moving round the farm, unexpectedly, harvested another two bags. So officially 50bags.

Honestly, I thought it was over, cucumbers can really surprise you

Who knows, maybe I can still harvest something if I'm patient enough, already, I'm planning to clear them off for another project to commence.

.
About 1.5 bags.
I use little for young plants
Even when the leaves are diseased, so long as you fertilize well, spray and water u'll still harvest enof. They can try.

Oga FarmTech. I gotta be totally honest
with my results cheesy
So, at 48½ bags, Plants are on the go.
I don't think I can still make it to 50 bags.
With our normal bagging style oh.

Although I have culprits to blame. cheesy

1. Didn't use up to 30ml npk you used

2. Rains were much and really heavy. So leaching was obvious.

3. Stopped applying fungicide as soon as I noticed plants didn't have much flowers coming up again. So I gave downy mildew the chance to start clearing up my farm for me. cheesy

4. I Didn't prune. I mean who doesn't prune cucumber during rainy season. grin
The branches became very compacted that you can hardly tell which is the main
Sterm.

Won't lie, I didn't reach optimal.
But I'm still impressed by the results at least for a beginner. So, as we go, we learn.

Last Last. I remove my hat. You are still the pro
.
Next time try and follow the steps I suggested. I think closer spacing can also ve a factor since I'm using 60cm.
.
No matter what, always apply a combo of funficide, insecticide and haifa. It helps a lot. Ibdo that every 4 days or so.

This is what we have tried in our house o. Infact any feed goes self starter or finisher. We rared rabbits for years, it was a family thing and in large quantity.

Anyways what did google say?
.
I will try it when I start rabbit farm.
.
Google said that poultry feed is too high in protein for rabbits. That rabbits don't digest protein well.

Starter. Then later finisher. With just small quantity and water they are okay. And it makes their infants grow so rapidly that you will be so surprised.
.
Thanks. Although Google is saying otherwise.

The best so far has been feed. As in chicken feeds, it works like magic, gives them rapid growth and prevents incessant urine. Tried and trusted. Besides they only consume little quantity so this saves you a lot of stress, you won't have to be entering forest every time all in the quest of finding your rabbits food.
.
Thanks for sharing. Which type dobu use? Broilers starter or finisher.

My family survived the recent violence in oju, now this is another one

This is heartbreaking, such gory pictures

Why this bloodshed every now and then in Benue? Benue state used to be one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria

The federal government of Nigeria has failed the people of Benue state woefully in the area of security.

There's food crisis in Nigeria today because the food basket of the nation is bleeding.

From one crisis to another, oh my Benue

No civilized society will allow such unspeakable atrocities to continue, this is heart-rending.

Seun:
I want to thank everyone who responded to this thread. I benefitted from your responses. Shadow died at night on the 6th of June.

During the night of the day I wrote this thread (Friday 2nd), the dog summoned the will power to get up and relieve himself. But that was the last time he ever walked. He had developed the most massive testicle infection that you could imagine. His legs were kind of dried up and limp. The hind legs were kind of black. Vet suggested atrophy but with the orchitis I figured it was some sort of infection. But his core was still strong

On Sunday 4th, he started making efforts to get up to relieve himself. Heartbreaking efforts. I could only clean him after he pissed/shit on himself. He was so weak that he couldn't bark but he made the most heartbreaking sounds. I broke. I asked my vet if he had an assistant who could help me take the dog to a clinic. He said no, that I should get a taxi. A dog that was messy. I did my ugly crying. 2nd time over a dog.

I resolved I'll just continue to take care of him with what I knew. He had stopped eating chicken so on Monday I just force fed him custard and gave him the same medications. Changed from vet-prescribed amoxicillin which clearly wasn't working. (Btw amoxicillin is trash.)

But by Monday the 5th, he started aggressively resisting my efforts to feed & pill him. He clenched his teeth so tight. I figured I would respect his decision. If he was going to die, I didn't need to make his last moments a struggle. I would give him peace. I started researching how I could take him out myself without causing any pain. I also wasn't going to let him go out struggling and fighting the vet and me the way Sloane went out.

So on Wednesday the 6th all I did was clean him up. There was food/water but he didn't eat/drink and I didn't force him. I noticed he started shivering & had some nasal discharge. I guessed that the infection was spreading. All I could do was pet him and apologize. I was already in bed that night when he started to breath heavily, then stopped. Then I heard farting sounds. When I woke up the next morning, he was gone.

If I ever have a dog again, it would be a tiny Papillon dog, and I will form a relationship with a vet clinic which has the capacity to conduct tests and base their treatments on the results of those tests. I'll also ensure he gets vaccinated for parvo & distemper and everything else. There's a part of me that allowed him to go because he was too big to handle alone and aggressive to my helper. He still bit him on Saturday the 3rd. 😆
.
Men sorry for your loss. I understand such pain too. In case of next time, try tube feeding the dog. It is far better than mouth feeding. Less stressful too. You can do it yourself if you watch some youtube videos.

Never say never....
Well, we "can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us," Phillipians 4:13.
You CAN, but you just do NOT want to...lol.
Trust me I get it.
I think it's more of understanding the benefits of healthier options and then being willing to surrender other less healthy things that one loves and craves so much...especially when those "unheslthy" things are so readily available.
Thus the reason I was transparent about my struggles...
I just sometimes "want what I want"...and go and get it (being in a country where things are easily accessible)....only to beat myself up later knowing I should not have yielded to temptation.
Never thought I would let go of meat.....but by His grace.
I'll conquer this "vegan" battle finally--by His grace also smiley
.
I understand. But I believe that meat in moderation isn't that bad if you increase plant-base diet.

You are correct. An innumerable amount of nutrients come from plants, nuts, seeds and grain though. I know "plant-based" may be weird or unheard of for many Nigerians....especially if meat is the desire. I get it. Who doesn't love meat? I'm just saying this for those who may be curious...

Permanent veganism has been my goal for a number of years now....i would label myself moreso of a vegetarian. There was a time where I was super strict about eliminating dairy...in addition to meat. The meat is not the issue for me. Certain "junk foods" are a struggle also and my carb of choice: white rice.
The struggle is very real though to permanently eliminate dairy from my diet.

.
Thanks. For me I don't think I can be vegan oo cheesy.
