Mine was detected while I was 10 wks gone accidentally when I went for a scan not because of pain or bleeding.
Am heading to 17wks now and there has never been sign of pain or bleeding but my scan result from the 10th week says "There is an hypoechoic lesion in the uterocervical junction within the anterior myometrium,it measures 35.0mm×29mm in two dimensions"

Then the assessment was "Early intrauterine cyesis coexisting with uterine fibroid"

Kindly throw more light on this please and all the sabi mama's kindly help a FTM .

PROM causes includes
Any cause of uterine infection ie chorioamnionitis implicated organisms includes group b strep and E.coli especially
Any cause of uterine over distention like multiple gestation,polyhydramnios
Trauma to the abdomen like assault, car accident
Symptoms include leaking fluid from the vagina or gush of fluid, there could be abdominal pain, fever, foul smelling vagina discharge
The main management depends on gestation or if infection sets in , in which case immediate delivery is advocated
If gestation is >34 weeks delivery is encouraged to avoid infection after giving steroids to help in lung maturation
If age of viability has been attained in Nigeria it is 28weeks and no fever, we try to buy time so as to allow pregnancy to be up to 32–34 weeks but if earlier and there is infection immediate delivery is recommended
Diagnosis is vagina pool of fluid in sterile speculum examination, ultrasound ie oligohydramnios, vagina fluid showing ferning or nitrazine paper turning blue
Main stay of treatment is bed rest , antibiotics and corticosteroid also tocolytics to stop contraction if no fever can also be given

For fibroid May interfere with pregnancy and child birth depending on size and location
It can increase the risk of miscarriage, preterm birth and even cause malpresentation
In pregnancy it could cause pain, bleeding and if it’s located at the lower segment of the uterus it can cause obstructed labour leading to CS . It can also cause post partum haemorrhage
But a lot of women with fibroid won’t have any problem and go on to have healthy pregnancy and delivery

Can you please tell us more about PROM causes and symptoms maybe.

Also, does uterine fibroids interfere with pregnancy or childbirth.

least it won’t hurt you in any way
And for cervical length measurement is not a one off measurement
You need to do it at least every 2 months
I was also told it was infection that caused the membrane rupture. But in medicine you can never be so sure especially with respect to prom
I decided to be proactive
My cervical length was 4.6 before my cerclage so in essence I really didn’t need it but I know it shortens as the pregnancy progresses so I decided to get one coupled with the fact that it was free. The OBGYN in my facility adviced me to do it and also to be on progesterone
For you to make a diagnosis of prom you must have had 3 second trimester miscarriages
I didn’t want to lose another baby to make that diagnosis
I know it’s God that makes it possible for a woman to carry to term
I just want to do my best and leavew the rest to God
And you know you shouldn’t compare yourself to the next person. Your case and hers and even mine could be different
I really think you should be on cyclogest it won’t hurt and it help to maintain the integrity of the cervix

All through my life I never knew I had it till I conceived. When I started having pains at week 8, had to go for a scan to know what's wrong that was how scan saw it. The decision to remove it during my c s was between me and my husband and we knew God and the Doctor was capable else we won't risk it...

I lost a beloved friend and sister who died during childbirth on Wednesday cos of a doctors oversabi. During the CS, the doctor noticed she had fibroids & decided to remove them. Note it was an unplanned surgery and it's totally risky doing both procedures without proper planning & preparations for it. Long story short, she lost so much blood & died. A lady that waited long to get married and even to get pregnant. Today is her burial. The baby developed some issues during the process of trying to resuscitate the mother but baby is presently in ICU...

PLEASE have a proper discussion with ur doctor b4 embarking on a double surgery & be sure he knows what he's doing. I had same but I had proper discussions beforehand. Above all TRUST in God to perfect it all for you. it's so sad.

May you all deliver safely with Mother Alive, baby(ies) alive and Father alive rejoicing in Jesus name.

Went for part 2 shopping. The woman I bought part 1 shopping do me strong thing. Thank God I didn't buy all from her. Some baby cloths she sold me for 600naira, I saw for N400. The one she sold me for N1200 nko?

My shopping today was cool. I bought 3 in 1 carter bodysuit + 4 stockings + 3 flannel for N2500 each pack.
6 in 1 baby carrier for N3000.
Etc etc. Beautiful baby cloths, some for N400 , others N600. I am happy. I heard olive oil is cheaper in stores that are not baby shop.

The outstanding will be bought in pH/Aba- baby cot, baby plastic wardrobe, flask, Pampers, Savlon antiseptic, 2 wrappers, hanger and peg.
