Yes it is different. It is thicker and made mainly from cement mixed with fibre. The fibre infused and thickness means you can work it into organic designs without it breaking easily.

The old asbestos is made purely to a large extent from asbestos which causes cancer. It is so slime (about 0.5mm), that it is difficult to work into organic designs without the risk of breakage. You can only achieve geometric designs (four corner).

However, in terms of FINISHED product, yes they are both the same.

I'm just hearing fiber-cement board for the first time, i guess because POP is the rave of the moment in interior designing now

I've "googled" about the fiber-cement board and its a very good choice of material, since its resistance to fire, heat and mold

I'm currently building at the moment but i would like to know more about this fiber-cement board before i choose it as my preferred ceiling choice

1. Does it has the same wood arrangement like the POP? or it has own dimension when carrying out the woodwork
2. Does it come in different sizes and thickness?
3. Apart from Nigerite, do we have another manufacturer in Nigeria that can compete in quality and price?
4. Any idea how much this fiber-cement board cost?
5. Does it require special installations or the POP guys can still install it?

The guy is legit, i got one unit from him.... even he increased his price, its relatively fair cos its an imported goods and Naira is not stable

Yes, that's what we knew previously, that inverters require either a battery or a reference voltage to work. Am not sure why.

But I own a Chinese inverter that will gladly bypass the battery once the Sun is reasonably bright at around 8 -10am. So I now reserve my old dead batteries are for refrigerator in day time, at night - phones and lighting.

Just pray you don't end being a stowaway on some foreign ships that will make it easy for them to throw you overboard than going through lot of paperworks filling your detainment at their next port of call or paying hefty fines.

No vessel or crew will help a stowaway because its a criminal offense and could get them imprisoned, the best is to report to the nearest flag state of the country for your arrest.

My best advice is to check for maritime vacancies on Linkedin (Follow maritime pages so you can see their post on your feeds)

Another advantage of getting a maritime jobs is if you are from one of the oil and gas host communities (They do get recommended to companies for jobs as part of their CSR)

I use a 3.5kva 12v kartel inverter and 4 220AH tubular batteries I connected in parallel to make 880AH.

I power virtually every thing in the house including an lg inverter AC for most of the afternoons , an lg inverter fridge/freezer and a bona solar chest freezer.

I've been fully off grid for going to 6 years by May and I don't have any regrets at all.

The installation was done DIY with little touch by my electrician.

How’s your experience with that Bona chest freezer?

my LG 1hp dual inverter AC blows cold air for a few seconds then starts blowing warm air till i turn it off. Fouani says the board is bad and is quoting me 170k to fix it, has any one encountered something similar and solved it for less. The AC is 5yrs old and out of waranty.

If not for the current economy and price of things, I would have advice you to add money and get a new AC….. or better still get another good technician to access the problem (Definitely their quotation will be less cheaper)

But you should try and use Stabilizer with the AC first… sometimes low voltage could cause issues like this….

10k subscription will not give you premium channels, 29500 per month gives you premium channels.

That’s why I said Unlimited plans like Starlink and local broadband is more better.

But if you are a very busy person and a bachelor, Data sub is better and you watch only when you want to watch an important TV programme.

so in my own thought, Streaming is not a Great/ Cost effective alternative to DSTV

Streaming is cost effective if you have an unlimited internet services such as Starlink, fiber optics services which provides unlimited data access.

If you are a very busy person, Sim data subscription is more better, cos I don’t think you can spend 6hrs watching TV in a day rather DSTV sub is running without being in use.
