Stock2233:Confirm if your Inverter is Modified or Pure Sine wave inverter............ Modified Sine wave does not generate clean energy to some sensitive appliances especially Starlink routers |

Billions123:Alright thanks for your input, that means I have to show the plumber the Inspo idea and where to lay the pipes so that the interior designs can take over from there.... |
Dear Gents.... I want to ask a question I have bathroom/Inspo idea i saw online, and currently i'm building though not yet to the plumbing stage. When do interior designer comes in to make this inspo a reality? Do they handle the plumbing jobs or after the plumbing has been done by a different artisan........ Or do they get to handle all the plumbing jobs at once?

I have Skoda Rapid 2013 as a backup car (It’s 5 speed manual transmission car) very rugged and fuel efficient cos of its 1.4ltr engine. I’ve never had issues with it since I bought it except for brake pad change and regular oil change routine. Shares same part with VW and Audi, parts are readily available and cheap. |
Bluntemperor:So he should remain the LG chairman after expiration of his tenure? Will you be happy if your current state governor depict such act? What then is the truth? Corrupt judiciary giving kangaroo judgement? Smh |

This maybe a case of a push and pull Nigerian local fabricated tug with incompetent crews manning the boat to tow a flat barge loaded with containers that’s above its towing capacity While we await for a comprehensive report on the accident, alway carry out JSA and Towing checklist before carrying out towing operation. Name of the tug boat also missing in the report…. Cos lot of tugs in our coastal water are not seaworthy talkess of carrying out towing operation Another conflicting report from the dockworkers, While offloading the containers from the barge, the container fell on tug causing the tug to take in water? This one na real bobo sha… Wetin carry tug under crane when it’s duty is to tow the barge safely to the Quayside and leave immediately before offloading operation. Tug no Dey transport goods….. so why would a container fall on the tug? ![]() From my experience as a seafarer Simulated scenario: The tug might have been contracted to tow the barge to the quayside, the contractor didn’t inspect the boat to know if it’s seaworthy (I’ve seen a case of old tugs where the crew uses cement to seal leaking overboard valves and their rusted hull) and may have hit the quayside while trying to berth the barge and started taking in water (Even though, ships do have bilge pumps to pump water ingress onboard) 4 months ago we rescued a distress boat that carries Yokohama fender for tankers that brought a crude oil tanker for export operation, The boat was taking in water and we went to standby close to them in case they need evacuation (Thankfully they had cement onboard and they started doing their usual magic, this shows that it has been happening before) when you are trying to cut cost… lot of things happens which might cost you a fortune, most of those tugs are out of class hence not insured, that’s why they are dirt cheap to hire for job. Make them commot $15,000 per day hire better tug boats for their safe operation them no go die ![]() |
PotatoSalad:I might but not now…… I don’t wanna keep it lying unused for long |

Do you build using LiFePo4 batteries? |
lonelydora:Indigenous company with the local content came and mess the maritime industry up with their low pay scale (Blacks are cursed) Mostly captains on security boats (This type of boats are manned by OOW holders or class 2) that's why they are paid such amount... But captains on bigger vessel earns more especially if it's a DP vessel. Companies like Caracal, Temile, Topaz now P&O pays well....... A Captain earns $400 per day or more especially on DSV or PSV vessels...... Bosun are experienced seamen and they are in charge of the ratings onboard the ship........ |
Which PowerBank can charge a Laptop with thunderbolt port...... Do you sell Mobile Solar powerstation? |
Obnoxious2001:Congratulations on your degree...... I guess you know degree does not count at all when it comes to seafaring jobs. There are two routes to seafaring jobs 1. Cadetship (Just like internship) 2. Ratings (This cadre can move up to officership if they wanna progress in their career) You have to decide with route you wanna take............ 1. Cadetship is the best way for you since you have a degree in Marine engineering, but it is always the hardest route to get due to Nigeria factor (Not enough ships to train all the cadets annually) and lot of companies loves recruiting cadet from schools like Maritime Academy of Nigeria Charkin Maritime School of Fishery and Oceanography In fact, I was recruited after my HND by a maritime company who came to school to source for cadets...... Cadetship requires you to have at least 12 months experience onboard, which is documented as ship stamps on your discharge booklet, then after completion of cadetship, you apply to NIMASA for eligibility letter, Depending on the type of ship you worked will determine whether you will be issued an NCV or Unlimited eligibility letter, which you will be interviewed before issuance, then you will take the eligibility letter to Maritime Academy of Nigeria to apply and pay for OOW preparatory class (Class starts every January to April and exams by June) NIMASA will give out date for the exams and oral interview, If you pass, you will be issued an OOW license (The timeline for result to come out is around 3-4 months) 2. Ratings: This route is a very dicey one because it favours the host community very much, This slot is reserved for them as part of maritime company CSR, except you are very lucky to be employed as a rating onboard (This is most peculiar to offshore vessels) This route requires you to start as an OS (Ordinary seaman) because you do not have an experience (Especially if you wanna work on tanker vessels) But if you want to work onboard offshore vessels, Then you need get the following documents first: 1. International Passport 2. Discharge Booklet - Please kindly google to get more insight about this documents (You have to apply at NIMASA office to get this document, its available at Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar & Lagos) 3. Yellow card 4. Seafarers medical fitness certificate - This can be done at authorized NIMASA Hospitals in your region (Check NIMASA's website to see lost of authorized hospitals) When you've gotten the above-mentioned documents, then you have to register for Able Seafarer Engine watchkeeping certificate at NIMASA Kindly note: You won't be registered for the exams if you do not have at least 12 months stamps on your discharge booklet, I know lot of folks fake ship stamps on their discharge booklet to apply for the exams, but that is not the best thing to do (Just the situation of not getting a job on ships are making people to do the wrong thing) You will asked basic ship questions, engine room questions etc..... (This is why you need to have an experience as an OS before going for watchkeeping exams. After passing the exams, The certificate will be ready in 3-4 months time which you then go for biometric at NIMASA office before collection of the certificate. After collection of the certificate, this enables you to apply fully as an oiler ONBOARD offshore vessels. |
diordaves:Thank you, Definitely using POP for living room, the rest will be fiber-cement boards including Kitchen |
diordaves:thank you so much........ So that means before woodwork, I have to determine the size i will use before the nogging right? Do Nigerite have any distributor or installer in Akwa Ibom? |
topsy23:Yeah Heat detector..... not smoke alarms in Kitchen cos it can be easily triggered by cooking fumes or steam........ |
VanuatuWycombe:That's cool... I prefer using it as a ceiling, not really a fan of those POP designs ... I just love a simple classic bare ceiling |
topsy23:I've seen lot of expensive houses with no fire alarm systems nor fire extinguishers..... That's a very great risk to take on such heavy investment sha As a marine engineer, I've seen billions of dollars assets consumed by fire because of carelessness and non-working fire fighting/alarm systems... Even in my house, i have a CO2 fire extinguisher and I've taught my wife how to use it... and I service it annually at 15k. I even have a fire blanket in my kitchen too, this was gifted to me by a foreign chef on one of the vessel I worked three years ago (This helps in fighting oil spill fires in the kitchen) My ongoing house project will have fire alarm systems in all the rooms, Gas leakage and smoke alarm detector in the kitchen (All powered by rechargeable batteries) This alarm can be tested weekly or monthly with smoke spray aerosol or improvised smoke from paper (Which is not advisable) |
