Believe this nonsense at your own Peril.......... How can a yatch be delivered without single upfront payment? Except this guys are not telling us the truth... A Yatch is not a car that will be constructed and kept for sale (Except its a used yatch), Vessels are built based on order and customer's specification and other fittings. The construction starts from keel laying to the body (Superstructure) and it takes an average of 2 or more years to build such structure.... How come they bought a yatch within a space of 1 year and its already in Nigeria? If it's in Nigeria, where is the yatch berthing? Who is paying for the daily berth charges? This country is such a terrible place and slaves like FreeStuffsNG will come here to support their oppressors when they barely have a square meal a day is mind-boggling.If the yatch is in Nigeria, they should tell us the name of the yatch.... Why are they keeping it a secret? |
porthouse7:Sure you can, with good internet and won't lag....... Don't type what you think its impossible.... 5G in lot of areas has crazy speeds, Starlink top it most, I even stream movies and live sports with my Starlink and its ULTRAFAST!!! |
Firstly as a busy and family man, I do not have time to watch cable TV, I do not even own a DSTV because its a waste of money with few good channels to watch, Thats why i opted for TSTV last year because of their good kiddies contents but unfortunately they are messed up lately, Thank God Starlink came to the rescue and i got an IPTV subscription for one year from a guy here on Nairaland... So i watch premium channels (including DSTV) online and the kids also watch premium kiddies channels in their room. If not for my family, Wetin concern me with TV program, Because i only watch Netflix or few documentaries whenever i'm at home and i don't exceed more than 3 hours watching the TV, the rest is on my phone or Laptop May God bless Elon Musk... because i can't imagine myself paying such amount for a mediocre cable TV |
xjiggy:You dey type as if you don't know that WIKE is the brain behind this brouhaha |
descartes400:Even if we do, wicked folks will find a way to ground the train, or truck drivers coming to stage a protest ............ this country has a long way to go |
Jennyclay:What about your dad? Or is he a deadbeat father? |
twinskenny:For the electrical fence, do we need to have a permit for that to be installed? |

Please how do I join the company Baba I have the following documents valid - STCW - OIL TANKER FAMILIARIZATION (OTF) - ISPS - MEDICAL CERTIFICATE - DISCHARGE BOOKLET - YELLOW CARD - PASSPORT - NIMASA STATUS AS ELECTRICIAN - TRADE TEST 1 TO 3 - DEGRE IN ELECTRICAL PLEASE YOU CAN REACH ME ON CALL/WHATSAPP ON 07058327257 or monvicdaytor@gmail.com. THANKS, AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE. OTHERS WHO CAN ASSIST FOR PLACEMENT CAN ALSO REACH ME. Well i will advice you to check online for Oil tanker companies, also take a walk dem full Apapa, drop your CV too, Working onboard as an electrician has a good prospect of climbing the rank of an ETO You can get your license as an ETO in Ghana at the moment, cos Nigeria does not offer ETO license Industry pay rate for ETO goes as $250 per day on offshore vessels in Saudi Aramco |
RevDesm0ndJuju:Dey play!!! lol ever since local content law came into play into the maritime sector, it has worsen the conditions of seafarers When Indigenous firms started becoming big players in the system, they made sure the jumbo packages and allowances paid by the multinational companies were slashed and some will even be owing you salary for months. The maritime industry in the country died the day local content was introduced, Lot of foreign companies left the country with lof of their ships and up till now the indigenous companies can not meet up with the growing demand in the industry. Anything a black man touches turns to dust ![]() |
Dshocker:lol...... Its tied to your personality, even though it was rampant with olden days seafarers, but new breed seafarers are more calculative with their spending and their sexual urges ![]() |
RevDesm0ndJuju:Indigenous maritime companies are also taking seafarers for a ride also, that is why lot of us are leaving for Saudi Arabia, Dubai & UK jobs which pays X3 of what we earn in Nigeria, except for multinational companies in Nigeria which their daily rate is very ok. NIMASA are not carrying out their responsibilities on enforcing the International wages for seafarers in Nigeria, I hope the new minister of blue economy works towards it. |
RevDesm0ndJuju:You are not far from the truth..... I think most of the tanker crew are suffering from this act from shipowners That's why i am sticking with offshore vessels, where i earn better and more flexible time to do other things Thank God for Saudi Aramco opening lot of offers to Nigerian Seafarers....... |
Love800:If you have the connect because those kind of positions are reserved for the host community especially for offshore vesselsNote: Wiper is only available on bigger ships like Oil tankers, bulk carriers but not on offshore vessels like AHTS, PSVs or DSVs Wiper's job is not limited to cleaning lol but as a helper to the duty engineer |
Welcome aboard, it's good to have a fellow seafarer on this forum ![]() You are lucky to be employed onboard with your age as a wiper, I think you have someone at the top who linked you up in the company and from your story i've read, You are working on an Oil tanker vessel and which could happen to be (ST company - abbreviated for personal reason). Your job description as a wiper is to keep the engine room clean and tidy, Help out in other engineering jobs carried in the engine room... You are in the lowest rank in the engine room department, and i will advise you keep your head on the ground and learn the job instead of poke nosing on ship provisions etc or using religion stuffs in your workplace since the owner of the company shares the same faith with you. Your next rank you should be targeting is "Oiler" this is an engine room rating personnel who also helps the duty engineer in their daily tasks in the enginee room and you must apply for the watchkeeping exams and must pass before climbing up the rank. Then your next rank should be Fourth Engineer and this involves a lot if you keep your head down to study and get your license. My word of advice to you: Get closer to your duty engineer and learn the piping arrangements of the vessel, boiler operation, Main engine shutdown and starting operations, purifier maintenance and other anciliaries, This will make you a good engineer in the future. I know the Indians onboard can be frustrating but that shouldnt deter you from learning. Also as a married man, After getting your Oiler watchkeeping certificate, You can target applying to Offshore vessels which has less contract duration of (2 months on/ 1 month off) unlike tanker vessels of 6 months contract and extension. I wish you luck!!! |
500k per month is a bit ok…. At least when I was earning such amount 6 years ago, I did so much out of it. Now where man dey earn 1million plus, person no fit carry am do anything, all thanks to Buhari and Tinubu Na now I discover say the more you earn, the more your spending and responsibilities. |
@chronique Wetin be him username for NL ![]() |
What is his Nairaland moniker for we folks to avoid such unprofessional mechanic |
duro4chang:K |
duro4chang:lol… funny when a jobless being like you will wake up with cheap bundle data to come and online to insult someone not close to your league is really baffling Go get yourself a nice meal ![]() |
BossGerald:This one is a dead man walking…. All he knows is to wake up every morning with his smelling mouth and hungry |
7buckz:You mean you take drugs to sleep while on transit? I mean you sleep very comfortably? U try ooo |
nairalanda1:this is a case of side chick transaction gone wrong, remember she was wanted along with former SSA to the previous governor and was called to come clear any wrong doings but she refuses and only the guy went there and cleared his name (We all know how people with affluence in the country behaves and seals the truth with powerful connections and money) So whatever that happened, that dude gave her some lead and other information to carry out any illegal activities. But we await the outcome |
Righthussle:You Dey mind person where Dey on colos |
Solape1:It is at the moment…. It’s the duty of the employer to seek for training of their staffs on fire fighting. Who’s gonna pay the certified fire safety officer? The government or the employer? Before I became a seafarer, I didn’t know about firefighting, I had to be trained on fire fighting in case of fire outbreak onboard a ship. Staffs can be trained on simple usage of fire fighting equipment, mock drills to avert any future fire outbreak |
Honoredeblazac:You guys are just taking this religion stuffs so seriously….. |
STANALVAREX:It’s for certified marine engineers…. |
jonescosmos:But it's not available everywhere just selected few locations |
FreeStuffsNG:So what are you doing with your miserable life? ![]() |
