Well in terms of infrastructure development, Jobs, Security and other basic amenities

1. Rivers State (But it has been on a decline lately due to security loopholes, Waste management and bad roads) But Rivers State is always ahead of others

2. Akwa Ibom State (It would have overtaken Rivers State in so many ways, But Job opportunities is drawing back Akwa Ibom State in this case) But if you want to talk about infrastructural development then Akwa Ibom State is above Rivers State.

There's a standard stadium, Tropicana Entertainment center (If not for the set of bad leaders we have, the initial plan for this structure was to be the Disneyland of Africa) , Standard e-Library, Two Fiver Star hotels, Beautiful Airport (But the airport is not completed as planned by the AKSG due to embezzlement of funds) Proposed deep sea port, and Good standard Roads

Apart from Uyo capital, Oron, Ikot Ekpene, Eket, Abak, Ibiono, Ikot Abasi are also developed too

3 Delta: it's a nice place, and there's lot of job opportunities in the Oil and Gas sector

4. Cross River: This state is living on it's past glory, Nothing fascinating about Calabar again except for the annual carnival.

Calabar is the only developed LGA in Cross River, lot of bad roads nowadays, Garbage waste disposal is not top notch again.

5. Edo: I've never visited here for long, So I don't have much information to give about Edo State, but with my little stay over there, i will rate it a 5/10

6. Bayelsa: Na pass I dey pass this state ooo... Nothing fascinating about this place Sha.

Well it all depends on you.... I'm a product of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, with an HND in Marine Engineering.

Bsc, ND, HND, Pgd does not matter in the Maritime sector... In short you are irrelevant if you don't have an OOW (Officer of the watch) License otherwise known as COC (Certificate of competence) it's a license given to you after passing your Orals and written exams from NIMASA.

It is recognized worldwide (If you have Unlimited COC for either engine or deck) You can use it to work in any ship in the world as far as the country you are working is in IMO whitelist.

You can have an OOW license without having an HND (Though you will be required to have more lengthy sea time experience)

A third Engineer with OOW earns 350-450k per month on a ship

It's only in Nigeria that employers value certificates more than work experience, It's a different ball game in the Maritime sector (No work Experience, No job)

I can't remember the last time i photocopied my HND or my NYSC discharge certificate for a job in a Maritime firm.

And what sets us apart from other Engineering students in the university is that you have real hands-on experience and training before going for your licence programme... No room for Quacks!!!
