More update
I must confess that your boys have improved tremendously with the way they tile now. Their way of tiling now is five times better than the outcome of tiling you displayed here throughout last year. I have seen an almost perfect tiling job from you in the last few months that can rival either Skimanski work or anyone else. I believe the more your guys do it, the better they get.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks. Good morning and God bless.
What is the difference between your aluminum profile and that of Tower or First Aluminum?

I like aluminum profiles that are quite bigger than what we usually see around. Your EBM 17, 44 and 70 are quite close to how big I like aluminum profile to look. I am not a fan of tiny looking aluminum profiles commonly seen around.

Haven of diasporans grin grin

Make we forget all the Lagos shakaras jor! Lagos is not well planned at all. Nothing has really wowed me in Lagos. It's really happening in IB. I just hope a good govt will resettle most of the people in the ancient structures at the city centre and convert them to Central Business Districts (CBDs). It has already started in some localities. Conversion and Repurposing but it will make more sense if the govt can take it up.
And how much can one get a plot of land in the place you called "Haven of Diasporans"?

I hope and wish for a Nigeria of the future where I can remove a lot of the front part of the fence and reduce the height all around.

But for sure the fence is going to be heavily reduced as I age into the neighborhood and step down from DEFCON1 grin
A fence brings no aesthetic to home. I was determined not to have a fence but the wailing was too much from the people who are never going to be allowed to sleep a night there. I eventually succumbed to popular demand. That's the only demand I accommodated so far. My glass roof was overruled without my knowledge but it must be done by my next builder. Few others got overruled without my knowledge too that must come back into my plan.

Update:

So my fence is almost done which was part of the bet, so we'll have to come up with another bonus. I'm thinking if I win, which I will, then THE Engineer still has to come onsite and I get use of your concrete mixer and leveling machine grin
Looking at the topography of your land from this picture, if I were you I would have made sure a 2ft concrete wall was done before setting blocks on top of it. Also, I would have preferred concrete columns to columns made with 6 inch blocks. There were no columns in front stretch part of the fence too. Let an engineer take a look at this.

Something like in the picture below.

PRESIDENT BUHARI
ORDERS CLOSURE OF
ASO ROCK VILLA
CHURCH

 03 Sep 2015  Admin  News

President Muhammadu Buhari has moved against
Christian religious activities within the precincts of
the Aso Rock presidential villa, a source familiar with
the matter has disclosed to The Trent.

The Aso Rock Villa Chapel serves as the official church
of Aso Rock where Christian activities inside the
presidential villa are conducted.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Trent
on Thursday, September 3, 2015 on condition of
anonymity, heavily armed men stormed the Aso Rock
Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying
worshippers access to the church.

“Normally, services begin by 7am at the church but
when we got there, we met armed security men who
said we cannot enter. They said they were acting on
orders from above. We waited outside till a few
minutes past 8am before they allowed us to enter,”
the source disclosed.

A visibly embarrassed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
who worships at the Villa Church, arrived the Chapel
and could be seen managing to conceal a worried
expression over the incident.

When our reporter contacted Presidential
Spokesman Garba Shehu to confirm the
development, he claimed he was not aware of the
incident. “What you are telling me is news to me. I am
not aware of this issue. There is a lot we are dealing
with and I hope you are aware the church was
handed over to Vice President Osinbajo. So please
call Prince Laolu Akande, his spokesman to confirm
this issue”, he said.

Further investigations by The Trent have revealed that
Sunday’s move was the second in a series of brazen
attempts to shut down Christian activities in the Villa.
Less than two months ago, the Children’s Church of
the Villa Chapel where the wife of the Vice President,
Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo worships with the children
was closed down on orders from above. According to
our source, “security concerns were given as reasons
for the closure of the Children’s Church.”

Attempts by this newspaper to reach Vice-Presidential spokesman Laolu Akande failed as his phone lines were unreachable at the time of filing in this report.

They don't. It has to be few. The insulation is to help retain heat in the house during winter time.

Homes are insulated to maintain temperature throughout the seasons.
There is a reason why they don't use insulation in Arizona or Nevada.

Motorized gate is the way to go. I just can't imagine my life without one especially when you activate all the features. My setup is solar powered with 200amp battery backup.

Also, the operator can be switched into manual mode within 30 seconds should there be need to operate manual.
What did it cost you?

I like non-motorized sliding gates. The ones with motors are not dependable. There is going to be a day you won't be able to get in with a motorized gate at 2am in the morning.

This issue would be totally solved by using a sliding gate but I abhor them.

So the question, can a one piece 12 feet wide gate be supported/hinged only on one side off of one pillar? And I guess can one pillar hold the weight of a one piece 12 feet wide gate?
I haven't seen anyone against using a sliding gate before. Get a well designed sliding gate. You will love it.

Yea, I agree! Though it doesn't serve any acoustical purpose, wood framing is meant to be a cheaper alternative for partitioning. Availability down here is another ball game! For it seems getting a straight wood here is like searching for a honest politician! Cc HslBroker
We need to get out act together in Nigeria. Why should getting straight wood be a problem? I could get 200 straight wood out of Home Depot or Lowes on daily basis without a problem.

PropertiesRe: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by FastShipping: 11:11pm On Sep 01, 2015
Treated wood partitioning as against metal partitioning.

I didn't see any piping for electrical wiring. The electric wires were passed through the drilled woods.

Dominionng should look into this possibility.
