The petitioners are yet to prove their allegation of electoral malpractice. It will boil down to forensic analysis and checks whether the votes were inflated or not. I don't think russia will bring nuclear weapons into a fight with anybody apart from the US.
The only people they threaten with nuclear weapons is the US because they stand no chance otherwise.

The US has more sophisticated jets and in much bigger numbers than russia.
Its navy will swallow russia''s.
The US military budget is more than 50% 500% of the rest of the world including russia.
The fact that the US military industrial complex attracts the best brains from every corner of the world is already enough advantage.
The global face of science and technology in virtually every subsector is America.
