What about the height of the foundation before filling? & I presume the 5tons truck is the one of six tyres.

I don't know the height but from my recollection, the foundation blocks were 5-6 layers.

You have a task on your hand with the amount of laterite you need to fill the foundation.

I bought 48 trips of 5 tons laterite for mine at the rate of 6,000 naira per trip. 1,000 naira each for labor.

I find it very rich that Brabus/Nexthome/Bosun Davies is opening up a new thread scouting for new customers whilst old Ex-customers like myself are dealing with the following.

1) Non-accountability of materials used, he even asked me to call a scientist to verify what he has used. I have screenshots and evidence.
2) Shoddy work on my building (Still fixing till today and still costing me extra money)
3) Stealing of my materials
4) Fraudulent documentation (serious matter, plans are underway to deal with this)
5) Numerous attempts to collude with my security guard to defraud me.
6) Heavy financial losses as a result of using your services.
7) Non-performance and serious incompetence (who inserts used cement bag into concrete)

In actual fact, I am not the only person. There is another thread which I will bring up shortly. There are dozens who have fallen into this trap, and I will urge anyone to do their research. The fact that he's still being allowed to post on this forum despite all the grievances that remain unresolved, is simply beyond me.

Wise words for anyone.

Can we have detail information about what brabus did at your site? You gave some points but no details about how brabus didn't meet your expectation. Brabus already countered your highlights with pictures of what he did at your site. It is now up to you to give details about the highlights of what you claimed brabus did.

From little experience, absolutely NO. 12mm has to be used with 10mm as rings.

In fact, if it is a gutter that you are going to constantly have large vehicles climbing on it on daily basis, you are going to need rod with strength higher than 12mm.

What do you think about this very simple foundation? It looks like just a single pour of concrete slab directly on the ground. There's some formwork, rebar, and a DPM, but t doesn't look like they did anything to the ground other than leveling it. Unlike the usual 3-4 coaches, sharp sand, etc, this might save even more money as long as you know the ground is never waterlogged. The site we have planned has a very deep water table, and in fact, it's very difficult to reach it with a borehole. It's also on relatively high ground, and during the rains, water flows away. Why use foundation techniques designed for Lekki and PH when we can put the foundation right on the ground? Especially when the slab size is planned to be only 6m x 6m. I can't find it right now, but I thought someone on Nairaland did something similar...

This is how foundations are done where I reside in the Carolinas. I have seen foundations done here with 3ft walls on four sides and no demarcation in the middle or any part of the foundation. Just 4 wide walls and concrete top.

My question to engineers in the house: why do we always have foundations done with blocks as demarcations in-between and then slap a 6 inch concrete German floor on it? What happens if four wall foundation is done without any demarcation in-between and then concrete top on the foundation?
