thanks...i will like to pm you on this...i am totally confuse. thesoj: @fatanu, please dismiss @freeR1's reckless advice. Canada and the USA indeed share applicant information. This sharing is automated and includes "biographic and biometric" information; the biographic info may or may not include marital status information but I would advice you to assume that it does. This topic has been discussed on this thread over and over and over again, with proof. Yet, @freeR1 for some reason is consistently promulgating a false and dangerous position, even after @ayooluwatoni corrected him/her. @fatanu, you will be responsible for the outcome of whatever you decide. In any case, you need to be as honest as you can in visa applications. Most VOs are human beings, and you can appeal to their sense of rationality and emotion in order to help them understand your situation particularly if you are a complex applicant. Additionally, if you don't qualify for a Canada or US visa, there are other amazing countries in the world too. Don't treat it as a do or die proposition that may lead you to being banned from many countries.
There was an applicant in the earlier threads who was rejected for a Canada TRV because he/she didn't disclose a prior US visa denial in his/her application. CIC found out because they have access to this info from the US State Department. There was also another applicant on the USA visa thread that was denied a US visa because he/she did not disclose a prior UK visa denial, yet the US Embassy knew because they share information with a range of countries. FYI, information sharing between countries is not always made public. Also, always assume that all Five Eyes countries share as much information (about non-citizens) as possible.
Finally, information sharing is not restricted to only terrorists. |

i am not married...just use that status to apply for us visa, i grad in 2010 and and been working, i recently just did a prof exam which me lots money; CCIE to be precise, my acct is red now...very red...i will use maternal uncle as sponsor and also my pop man. i am also trusting God for some financial support from the sch as i had a very good grade in UG. what is your view. ayooluwatoni: Hmmm....u want to deny your husband because of Canada? That's not good (if you truly married). But if u were never married, the you may claim to be divorced. And except you just graduated or just finished nysc (which means you don't have study gap) you may still need to submit your SOA o. So what's your profile? When did you finish UG? What have you been doing? Are/were you married for real? |

in my visa app to us... i used married as marital status and even fill in my spouse name...but i dont want to present im married cos its student visa i want to apply for and i am using someone as sponsor... not going to present my own soa. thanks my concern... if i say im married and cant even present my personal financial status... they will think somehow. thats the concern ayooluwatoni: Hmmm....it's kinda complicated o. The ideal thing is to come out straight, probably explain in a Letter of Explanation, but at the same time, it may backfire. So honestly speaking, I don't know what to say. Maybe the GURUS in the house can better advise you. @thesoj, what do you think? |

Both countries have independent bio-metric systems. As long as you are not on a terror or watch list, nothing is going to ring. No be u dem dey find. |

yes i was denied....more to it i lie in some personal information which i will like to correct and say the truth in this canada application. pls what should i do thanks ayooluwatoni: Of course US and Canadian embassies share information about visa applicants, except information about Citizens and Permanent Residents of US and Canada. My advice, be straight-forward. If you've been denied visa by US, declare to Canada or vice versa.
Cheers |

Hello House, Please i will like to ask this concern question. I have heard and read Canada and US share immigration data information of immigrant applicants. How do they check this? Does it mean when you details or biometric information is enter into their system, your details in US data pops up or until they do a cross check of your details in US database. I am asking because i made a mistake in my details in visa application i did to US embassy, i will like to correct it in Canada visa application, but i have scared of any contradictions of information.
Pls house i will appreciate good and experience response to this

such a good response.. thanks...will do just that probably with a proxy name and email id for a test. thanks Khalesi: I'll advise that you shouldn't base your application on hearsay. Create your CIC account, build your profile and answer the questionnaire to see what forms and fields that will be populated, then you can know how to group related documents in a field. Don't worry if you change your mind about any upload you can always remove the file and reattach. They're all editable (even the questionnaire) until you submit and make payment. I strongly recommend you go through parts 6-9 (if you don't have the time you can skim for info that pertains to you). There's good information on this thread. After reading and you still have grey areas, then you can revert here for clarification. |

Such an inspiring words... i will make right my past wrong by saying the truth. It is only God who can do it whether i lie or say the truth. thanks newacca: I will advise you to state your marital status as it is. I don't think Canadian Embassy will check on US embassy to ask if a Dude is married or not. Since you don't have have any serious criminal record and you have never being a threat to the security/peace of any country, no be your type dem go dey dig classified information about. Same thing applies to your salary story, why on earth will any embassy ask the other about the salary of a visa applicant, when such applicant has submitted documents that could be used to judge the situation?
Please be honest in your new application. |

12 work days in all. Thanks to you all that have contributed to this thread in one way or the other. Special thanks to Team12, I never contacted you but knowing we have similar circumstances I followed your posts closely. Wishing all TRV hopefuls same success stories. Just put in your best in your application and leave the rest to God. While packaging your application, put yourself in the position of a VO and give detailed explanation and support documents to answer any question/clarification you think they may need.

i dont have any criminal records, i am just worried cos i heard they share information, if i state i am single and they see on US record that i am married... also salary discrepancy. pls advice. newacca: Brother, it's better you come out plain and honest in this new application for Canada visa. Though both countries share information, but the kind of information they share in this context is mostly related to security/background checks. I wanna believe you don't have any serious criminal record;even at that, please declare it. Also, remember that this is an online forum, visa officers do read comments on forums. FYI, U.S. Visa officer/ representatives are here on Nairaland.
I can assure you of one thing, there are great people on this thread, and they are ready to support you from their wealth of experience. |

Hi All, I am new to this forum but taken some time to read through some few pages. I have some concern which i will like to share here. I recently apply for my master degree program in two canadian university and hoping to get admission, i am trying to get my self pepare for the visa application. My concern is these: I recently got denied by US embassy and what i filled there was that i am married and i also inflated my salary, now this is giving me concern because i heard US and Canada share information. Now should i stick with marital status for canada visa processing, also as regard my salary, should i stick with the amount i stated earlier in US visa processing; meanwhile my statement is very empty. I intend to use someone has a sponsor.
Pls share with me how i can go about it
thanks |
