I have seen transcript here where the applicant said the sponsor is a citizen or living in the US and was still given the Visa ...... . Yes it does help for home ties if your sponsor is in Nigeria but been abroad doesnt work against you as well ........ Work on your other responses and package as a whole and be honest in the bold

it is not you who determine whether you want to carry or not .... Everyone is expected to carry a statement but in most cases it is not asked or looked out . However it is vital you take one because what if you are the few minority that is asked ... Then would you say u dont have one because of raised eyebrows .

So get the bank statement and if not a parent letter of sponsorship ready in case it is asked

Thanks @lagosismyhome. I just dont want to carry statement that the balance may look too much or too small consiering i have options with my uncles who are ready to give me their statements. Im considering btw 13-15M

Use the official Dollar-Naira exchange rate and factor in about 25% over the amount. Basically, that's like (25k x 325NGN x 1.25).

i think it depends on what you're putting in for.. like Bsc good toefl is okay for that while for Msc GRE and TOEFL with good scores is okay too

I have a serious concern, someone applied on behalf for a B1/B2 to New York but i was denied. The person assumed i am married and filled married for me. Now i want to apply to canada for student visa, i learnt US-Canada share information, i will however state that i was once denied US visa. I will like to state my real marital status as Single. I hope this is not a form of discrepancy. I am really worried for this error. Do they share info such as marital status of applicant.

Hi friends, I got an update on my medicals today stating that I passed it. Still today, I was sent a msg on my CIC account that a decision has been made on my application and they requested for my original passport to be submitted to the visa office coupled with the passport request letter sent to me. I ran to Lekki sharply. The guy that collected it said it should be due for collection within five working days.

Hopeful and prayerful.

The two schools i applied to didnt require me to contact a supervisor, though it is advisable... i am also planning to approach them. As for the transcript, use your company name like they are the one requesting for the transcript, that way you will have your transcript at hand. thats how i did mine.

To be on a safe side, you will still need to submit ur soa, to avoid being rejected on grounds of personal asset and finance + purpose of visit. So if you can raise your balance a bit, pls do. You will most likely need to proof that you've been in a good employment since 2010 when you graduated.
