peterincredible:How did you manage to graduate with your grammatical construction? This is extremely shameful. |
When the Bolivian military managed to find Che Guevara out of hiding with the information of a shepherd, they asked the shepherd : "Why denouncing a man who sacrificed himself yet for your freedom and well-being?" The shepherd replied: "I denounced him because the crackling of arms scares my animals in pasture". When Mohammed Karim, the Egyptian who undertook to resist the assault of Alexandria launched by Napoleon, was arrested by the army and sentenced to death, Napoleon appealed to him and said: "I have the trouble to execute a man who has valiantly defended his country, I do not wish history to retain the image of a person who stifles the impetus of the patriots that defend the integrity of their homeland, so, I promise you freedom if you pay ten thousand gold coins as financial compensation to my soldiers that the resistance killed ", smiling, Mohamed Karim replied:" I do not have the full amount requested on me, but I am indebted more than 100 thousand pieces of gold by the merchants of Alexandria, they will pay for sure, this fine, so that I have my life saved! " Chained, Mohamed Karim was driven to the Alexandria market for a tour of the market in search of the sum on which his freedom will depend. But, to his great surprise, no merchant was on his fate, worse, the natives accused him of being a troublemaker, destroyer of property, and undermining the economic vitality of the port city of Alexandria! " Napoleon, in view of the resignation of his family towards him, declared: "I will concede that the sentence of capital punishment be executed not because you killed my soldiers, but for having fought for cowardly people, who care more about their business than about their integrity! " Mohamed Rachid Rida, Syrian Arab reformator said: *"To revolt on behalf of an ignorant people, is like to set yourself on fire in order to light the way for a blind man!"* ********* Meditate and share so as to fully understand the ingratitude of a society that is ready to shamelessly deny its commitments, its convictions and its values ......a people and country just like mine ! Lol just like Nigerians and Nigeria !! |
Creamz:Eye service , eye service everywhere. These people never learn from other peoples mistake. The same way Ambode was after Fashola instead of concentrating on his own programmes, at the end he failed. The way he castigated Fowler shows that he might be dumb afterall, is he expecting tax collecting to keep going up during recession? When the economy is experiencing negative growth? The period he referred to as the period of higher collection was during the boom period when the economy recorded above 5% growth. They thought we are as dumb as they all are. Fowler does not have anything to prove to anybody, he was instrumental to the Lagos IGR astronomical growth. What's this guy pedigree? What is he bringing to the table apart from clannish relationship with Mr Buhari. Time will tell. |
therajah:Clannishness has so much blinded these people that they always rush to show themselves without reading. Someone charging 300k per bed space and these people are jerking off all over the thread calling it philanthropy. Always looking for opportunity to bash yoruba. Philanthropy kill you there. Nonsense. Bunch of illiterate fools! |
Vortex369:Karma is merciless. Mr Sanusi and Mr Saraki conspired among themselves and stole intercontinental bank from Erastus Akingbola. Both of them are eating it hot hot as served by Karma. Those who bought the stolen goods (Accessbank strong men) are next. |
Some men make huge mistake due to ignorance. The reason might be due to their upbringing or they may not know any better. I once experienced this many years ago. My wife had only OND when we got married. She obtained her HND after marriage and by ghus time she already has our daughter. She didn't conceive again until after 5 and a half years. During this period she started complaining that she wasn't fulfilled being a non working housewife and I wasn't having it because my mum resigned her job from Nigerian tobacco company to raise us . I also believed children need the parents around to develop into sound and emotionally balanced adult. However after much discussion and negotiation, she settled for a small business she was doing from the house. The business grew and she got a shop not far from the house. By this time the kids were already in the boarding house. Fast forward 10 years later , I was disengaged from the bank where I work and I have since joined her in the business. Now she has 3 branches and about to open the fourth. So I will advise that you patiently negotiate with him and pray also that God touch him so that you can both reach an agreement on this issue. Dont listen to hardliners because it might make you lose your home. The small business my wife started that time is now the saving grace of the family now. I wish you well. |

maasoap:One yoruba adage said a brave man takes bullet from the front only a coward takes bullet from the back. Figure it out yourself , be objective. |
I doubt if ogun state governor is alive . Nothing seems to be moving in that state. The ijoko - ojodu Berger road started by mr onifila Amosun has been abandoned. People living in akute, alagbole, agbado, oke aro are suffering seriously because of bad roads on that axis. The alternative connecting road I.e denro- akute road has not been touched in 8 years. Majority living on that axis work in lagos but pay their taxes to Ogun state because of the residency provision in the paye law yet get nothing in return. Someone should please wake dapo abiodun up . |
The Public universities are now adapting to new realities as the private universities have challenged them with respect to grading students. The same faculty of agric , university of ibadan that recorded over 30 first class graduate this year had only one first class in 1991/92 when I graduated. Some of us missed 6.2 by 0.01,0.02, 0 03 etc . Does it then mean students read more now or are smarter than the crop of students then? Thank God , managements of public universities have now realised that they will be short changing their graduands if they continue the old system while the graduates of private universities will automatically have an edge in the wider world by reason of the better grades. |
I remember when we were in UI in those days. I believe she graduated in '91. She with the likes of Ayo Adun, pakaro, the bakare brothers, Gboye Latunji etc. We call them the whazzups & abegi boys. They really painted UI red. But she's got good genes. Still looking extremely good @50. |
SoNature:I'm concerned about the way most people reason in this country. What has dressing sharply or being presentable has to do with performance? These guys have been there for more than 100 days and we could not point to anything significant that has been done to ameliorate lagosians suffering. The low hanging fruits of repairing existing roads that are full of pot holes is being carried out at snail speed. They instead focus on propaganda and showing us sharp suits and other ensemble. We don't even know his plan for the state and the deliverable for the next 1,2,3 years. We need to hold these politicians to high standard of development index instead of focusing on dressing sharply. Who that one EPP? |
Saudi Authorities are set to execute over 20 Nigerians for drug trafficking ,and over 90% of them are Yoruba's.This should make all Yoruba leaders drop their head in shame and weep bitterly for failing the Yoruba nation. All living past and present governors, commissioners, ambassadors, former and present MDs of financial institutions of Yoruba extraction , All general overseers , imam, ustaz etc should feel embarrassed about this unfortunate incident. We as Yoruba's need to do some soul searching and ask ourselves hard question about how we got here. Those of us that went to school in the 70s ,80s are taught to rely on honest and hardwork to get to lofty heights in our careers. We will remember such ryhmes as ' Mura si ise ore mi, ise la fi ndi eni giga' etc. We are made to memorise it and recite it during assembly both at primary and secondary schools. So, where did we go wrong. We are very proud and conscientious people. Children that were identified not to have affinity for higher education were enrolled to learn skills and there was dignity in labour. Yoruba nations led in all sphere of education. First woman to drive car, first university in west Africa etc. But these days no Yoruba state comes within the 1st ten states in WAEC exams. I am surprised that governors of Yoruba states did not feel challenged by that and design a wholistic approach to regain top position in the committee of states in Nigeria. All technical schools , teacher training colleges are all but comatose and Yoruba leaders are not bothered. I expect all leaders of thought in all spheres including traditional rulers to brainstorm and come up with empowerment programmes to develop our youth , address the rot in our educational system, lobby the center to attract human capital development programmes to help the youths hone their skills and raise hope towards engagement in honest activities. All churches and mosques should immediately begin preaching messages of values that have made us the pride of the nation in time past, I also expect them to also get involved in empowerment programmes in their various churches and mosques however little. All citizen should hold our political leaders accountable and pressurise them to focus on real development. Enough of stomach infrastructure. This is what is driving our youth towards drug peddling, kidnapping and other social vices. We should also honour those who have excelled by dint of hard work and enterprise no matter their age and political leaning instead of reserving merit awards to only civil servants and political leaders. landsngcom:What's your stress, are you planning to default on loan obtained? Economic saboteur spotted. |
Hotfreeze:Which silly Amosun? A confirmed fraudster? The guy tricked those working in lagos but living in the border communities of ogun/lagos to transfer their monthly tax deduction to ogun for supposed upgrade of road infrastructure in the border areas of mowe ibafo, akute, sango etc but he didn't anything in thise areas throughout his 8 years while he was busy upgrading abeokuta. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. God will punish that guy. He rewarded the Adegbite guy with ministerial nomination for helping him to steal ogun state money through all those inflated contracts. Barawo all o them. |
Ode ni e. Foolish commissioner. It's all sour grape. I expect him to tell us his achievement as power commissioner under Ambode. What did he do differently, instead of spewing trash. What did lagos gain in terms of improvement in power and power related infrastructure during his term. Yeye dey smell. |
"He joined NITDA in 2017 as Technical Assistant to the Director General/CEO" This shows that he was deliberately brought in to NITDA to take over the parastatal. Another northern appointee. Yeye. |
Pally, you are not well. You worship Mammon. Its lazy youth like you that is dragging the name of this country through the gutter. So because he invested the money and run charity organisation, we should be hailing him? And you want a sane and prosperous country ? The likes of Canada , China, Singapore etc that all of you are trying to run to, is that the way they built their countries? On lies, fleecing others of their hard earning resources? And you are blaming politicians? |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the Buhari Presidency is rotten and reeks of incurable corruption, festering up to every level. The party says the shocking revelations of multi-dimensional sleazes, bribery, stealing and extortions in President Buhari’s Special Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property as well as in the office of the Head of Service of the Federation (HOSF) are just a tip of the iceberg of the earthshaking corruption deeply entrenched in the Buhari Presidency. The party says Nigerians are aware of how the indicted Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel, Okoi Obono-Obla and the Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, enjoyed the protection of the cabal in the Buhari Presidency in its brazen burglary of our common patrimony. Nigerians can also recall how the PDP had severally raised the issue of humongous fraud going on in the Special Investigation Panel under Obono-Obla as well as the Chairman’s certificate forgery allegation, and how President Buhari condoned him and refused to take immediate action. The Buhari Presidency should therefore know that Nigerians are not carried away by this new attempt to hoodwink them through the usual holier than thou script. If President Buhari is indeed serious about exposing corruption, he should immediately allow a system-wide probe into the activities of his administration in the last four years, particularly the trillions of naira sleazes in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, where he was minister. The PDP demands that President Buhari allows an inquest into the stolen N9 trillion as detailed in the leaked NNPC memo, the reported stealing of N1.1 trillion worth of crude by interests connected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as alleged diversion of billions of naira meant for security and social welfare in our country. Our party now expects President Buhari to allow an investigation into the revelation by the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, that the N500bn Social Investment Programme and the N16bn Mosquito Net Project of his administration were diverted to private purses. This is in addition to persons close to him, who as former ministers and former governors are facing corruption charges in various panels and courts, including a former minister indicted in the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) N2.5 billion fraud case. Furthermore, the PDP asks President Buhari Presidency to speak out on the allegations in public space that Obono-Obla's investigation activities at the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF), which the Presidency cabal is desperate to conceal, is what is being punished. More over, the PDP holds that now that President Buhari appears resolved to take the right step to investigate Obono-Obla’s certificate forgery scandal, it has also become incumbent on him to purge his conscience by owning up on his own certificate saga. See more here https://thickmatch.com/corruption-buharis-presidency-stinks-pdp-attacks-obono-obla
PDP should cool down abeg. Cambridge university has come out to confirm this guys certificate. What else do they want. Is it only to complain without any sense? Mtschew. |
