Sorry this is coming late. I work in a university as a medical officer. I am a Deputy Director of Health Services. As a civil engineer in a university, you are a potential Director of Works and Services, a position that any Engineer worth his salt will dream for.

In terms of earnings, contiss is much more than GL of equivalent status.

Forget teaching as a civil engineer unless you have strong natural flair for research.

Take the university job as senior engineer, learn the rope, work hard, climb the ladder and thank me later

I think you should seriously consider taking the offer. Experience is everything! You stated that the company is multinational. With your background, you may actually end up in the UK or US arm of the organization after a few years. Even if that's not the case, I see you climbing in your career and getting hotter in the market as the years roll by.

A whole lot of people think forex when they hear US or UK. I would rather be a small Master than a big servant.

Secure your job, there'll always be opportunities for courses, both local and international.

Living in the US without a good job won't ever get you ahead of your peers.
