Big TT fan here. There was data stuff by Boehly and then there was just poor transfer nous and squad management from TT. We have to admit. For once, TT had what was a blank cheque, to build a proper squad. He could have pointed to anything he wanted, and he would have got it. Those guys were ready to spend. But he squandered it.


If TT had managed the midfield needs very well, then one could argue that there probably will be no need for Enzo now. Fine player but like you opined, worth less than £10m only 6 months ago. To say we have seriously overpaid, is a grand understatement.

And yes, the same energy will be applied to Potter when he's given £400m worth of players.

Why blame Tuchel here? Could it be those purchases were made based on the data presented by Boeli?

Creativity starts from the back, starts from staying in the game with a competitive midfield, and not having attacking players plugging leaks as midfield is being overrun. When the team is balanced and not chasing shadows, then you can talk about creativity

Na the same Manure attacking players we saw last season, just adding Casemiro has given them balance and allowed them to focus on the offensive part of the game, not chasing shadows backward to cover an unbalanced midfield

This is my issue with most English trained players - most of them lack football sense. It's just not there and I think it's got do with overtraining a certain aspect of football and mentality. That instinct, flexibility, creativity, wow moments are just lacking or at least not consistent enough.
See that Johnson from NottsForest, he could be a world beater but again lacks that "my... my... my..." ability.

I think it is more than just individual players if you watch closely. Your players are just all over the place, especially without the ball.

This is where coaching comes in, this is where the manager's footprint is visible.
Players don't naturally want to track back, position themselves properly, maintaining shape without the ball. That is where coaching comes in.
That is the job of the manager.

Mount needs to work hard as he was below par today in the middle. Pulisic needs to hit the gym as he is looking meek on the ball in some moments, while Sterling should start learning Arabic as he should join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia soon.

Koulibaly running like a pregnant woman, was terrible. I don't mind trying Chalobah and even introducing Badiashile against Man city. We need to present a solid team on Thursday.

Physicality zero
Creativity zero
Coaching zero.

Those kind of games where you acknowledge that the team that you are supposed to beat (on paper at least) is better than you in every aspect of the game.
